Many political leaders have been lawyers. The response to this was someone saying they'd rather be led by a lawyer rather than a liar. The Mail does not show you that though.

The government should therefore stop preventing settlements and interfering in negotiations.

He twists this as if it's just about social distancing. Boris won't sack him because Boris is equally guilty of this kind of thing.

No car is going to knock down the heir to the throne. Meghan's reaction is based on a normal life experience, but Royals don't usually have to worry about things like that.
74
I could watch this all day - so satisfying.
43
Therese Coffey looks moved. If only she had been moved by the plight of the poor her former department harassed and would release the report on how many deaths were the result of its rule changes.
41
Kwasi Kwarteng with a rictus smile. Steve Baker looking quite pleased that they know who he is - enough to boo him anyway, or maybe he's just utterly shameless.
30
Why do people pick on appearances rather than listening to what people are saying? It's not a beauty contest.
28
@balls4992 I remember when lying to Parliament was a resignation affair. Ministers were expected to resign if caught lying and they did. Now there's no shame.
16
Boris looks like the Incredible Hulk, without being incredible.
15
The Labour plan, on the other hand won't be paid for by taxpayers in the form of later tax rises or public service cuts, it will be paid for by windfall taxes on the wholesale energy companies who are raking in the excess profits at the moment.
14
More comments here on appearance rather than anything been said. It's not a beauty contest. No wonder people elect such bad politicians when all they think about is superficial trivia.
14
No. This is the sensible wing of the Tory party. I didn't think it had one.
14
Hardly. Russia already has a bad record for killing "enemies of the state". Litvinienko being a case in point and many journalists and political opponents in Russia too.
14
They're playing one's tune, Charles. 'It's a very interesting large piece of glass'. Lol. If she was being sarcastic she could not have done better.
12
Housing is screwed anyway and has been for a long time before this, but Brits do seem to keep voting in the party which is in the pockets of the developers. They don't want too much increased supply because short supply keeps house prices high.
11
Yeah, but the point is to let them know how the public is feeling. They are so protected and do so much behind closed doors and then pretend in controlled media forums, that what they are doing is what the public wants. It's refreshing to see them have to encounter the real world and the people whose lives they are affecting and that people make an effort to attend and make their views known.

How long have you got?
8
Our homeless are on the streets because the government doesn't have the will to home them. They were homed during last year's Covid lockdown.
8
@deanalford8417 The government themselves deny having any responsibility or involvement in the negotiations, but behind the scenes they are not mediating, they are merely blocking negotiations and settlement offers.
7
Well, voting on the basis of looks is a great idea isn't it and so mature?
7
@roboss5426 Twitter's not my thing. Maybe yours?
7
I'm not a Tory but he is the most sensible Tory I've heard.
6
@YO YO MOFO After I heard the first gunshot before I saw them tussling and the man he was tussling with also had a gun which the jogger was trying to grab. Looks like the jogger was acting in self defence to me -just trying to protect himself from being shot. Here's the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzPL82QxCks
6
He has two.
6
I know someone who knew Dominic Raab and reckons he's not well liked so unlikely to win. He certainly seems pleased with himself though.
6
I can't tell if you are an insect or a pest gladifly
6
@deanalford8417 Why don't you ask why the government denies having involvement even though they are involved and it's negative, not mediating at all. The employers would settle but they are prevented by the government.
5
Including those that can't spell his name
5
They would not have been accepted on the planes if they were undocumented and since they have worked with British troops, I think it's clear where they stand.
5
He's aiming for the record, and wants to beat the USA at top country for Covid cases and deaths.
5
@fredrickaappletree3402 You can't generalise like that. They are not all the same. As for the ones that are like that, people voted them into power and are getting what they voted for.
5
It's a big price to pay for a colour change for British passports now made in France.
5
That would have ruled out Johnson.
5
Conor Rosenberg. Could it be because Russia keeps hacking western government websites? Could it be because it tries to interfere in western elections? Could it be because Putin has just announced new weapons (missiles) that can reach the west and can't be destroyed? Could it be because his planes invade western airspace? Could it be because he supports the dictator of Syria? Could it be because he has political opponents and journalists killed and some of them in western states? Could it be because he runs a criminal mafia type state and his cronies launder stolen money into foreign assets? These are not the friendly acts of a democratic state.
5
Policies and competence are more important than personality. They are not there for their entertainment value.
4
Labour isn't far left. Corbyn has gone and Starmer is much more of a moderate centrist. They have noticed that haven't they?
4
@heresjohnny602 Oh yeah. Groan
4
I'm sure they'll be tested if they haven't been already.
4
They've all been checked. Only those with British passports and/or visas are been allowed in - mostly because of working with British forces.
4
Gavin MacNeish There's no such thing as true freedom in the modern world. Scotland will still be dominated by the EU.
4
I think this is probably one of the donors, but I don't know who.
4
She sounds rather breathless. I remember seeing some videos of her, not long before she stepped down, where people speculated that she was ill, as she seemed to be shaking in public.
4
@jeanlawley6483 * a funny thing
4
Don't forget, withdrawing from the EU means Brits with holiday homes there will be restricted to 90 day stays, and the blue passports are made in France.

@romanhoax9014 Take law and order. The Tories say they are a party of law and order but they made massive cuts to the police budget resulting in a loss of 20,000 police officers since they came to power in 2010. They are only just now starting to restore some of those cuts and they made 80% cuts in central grants to local councils (which used to be a large part of their funding) since 2010. If the Tories believe in the nation state, they've a funny was of showing it. When Covid was taking off here they never shut down air travel to stop it getting a hold, nor did they test travellers coming by air to the UK. They'd started to do some of this more recently, closing the stable door after the horse has bolted but even now it's not watertight. As for personal responsibility, the Labour Party does believe in helping the weakest and most vulnerable. If you were to have a health emergency in the street, for instance, would it be helpful for someone to shout that you should take personal responsibility or would you hope they might help you or call for some help?
3
Surely it's better to be honest, than 'brutal'.

The level of ignorance in these comments is staggering. They all have to go through quarantine. Do some research before commenting.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but if I was I'd almost wonder if someone suggested to the police that they should bump someone off to provoke a riot and help Trump's election prospects, or maybe it was Walter Wallace that was encouraged to attack the police. No, I won't go there. That's conspiracy land. Just looked up the facts. The man Wallace was bipolar and in a crisis. Police say they shot him because he wouldn't drop the knife he was holding. In the UK he would have been tasered, handcuffed, and taken to a mental health unit.
3
Local councils are responsible for keeping the access points unblocked, the drainage system under that is for Thames Water to do, since the water system was privatised. It's nothing to do with the mayor but some people like to heap blame on him for anything at all.
