@b00ts4ndc4ts Same with NHS profitable assets that have been sold. For example, our emergency blood supplies were sold to Bain Capital for £90 million by the Tories, and they were then sold on by Bain for almost 10 times the amount at £820 million to the Chinese Creat Group. 80% of our emergency blood supplies...

@DropdudeJohn No mate, of up to 8%, covering 2022 and 2023. That is not the same thing and is still a pay cut as it fails to meet inflation. Not to mention most will only see 4% and they have to agree to contractual and working practice changes as well as huge job losses.

@VectorTracker Yes it is very easy to condemn the Catholic church after centuries of continued abuse... Cynical offer that anyone could make as there's 0% chance of it being accepted...

@timwoodger7896 Agreed. Conservative Unionist Nationalist Troglodyte Society... they don't use the acronym...

Tories individually and collectively are responsible for the loss of 100,000s of Brits during the past decade (over 100,000 via NHS cuts alone) or so and the suffering of tens of millions. These were not financial choices as the very wealthy doubled their assets during the same period. It was a choice to enrich themselves at our cost. I dislike both the ideology and the people who implement it.

@shelleylyme6402 Economic euthanasia is far more insidious and has cost as many losses every single year.

Gove, Boris and King Charles - worst vocal trio you'll ever hear...

@@CalmlocketThose costs are due to a lack of processing. We give away £3.7 billion every single week in corporate tax losses, corporate welfare and corporate subsidies. There is no reason for the British public to suffer poverty other than corporate greed, we can be generous to deserving migrants who contribute to our economy and still thrive as a nation. You should be aiming your ire at tax-dodging corporations and a corrupt government that hands them your taxes!

@stevec700 Thanks to Corbyn the party enjoyed the biggest swing to Labour since 1945 and he increased membership from around 200k to around 580k which made Labour the biggest party in Europe. Corbyn also turned party finances around to create a surplus within 2 years. Starmer has reduced the LAbour membership by over 25%. Corbyn has always been on the right side of history... Tabloid talking points and opinion pieces are for the politically illiterate...

I just watched Sky News regarding the consultant's strike. The salary quoted included overtime, the wage decrease percentage was 20% below what the BMA quoted because they hadn't taken factors like rents/mortgages into account. When the consultant said Doctors are going to Australia, Canada etc as the wages are virtually double what is offered here in the UK - Kay made some facetious comment about the government having no control over the weather. Pity Kay wasn't so aggressive when questioning Tory MPs...

Although to be fair, I do love Boris as he has Van Gogh’s ear for music and Einstein's looks. He loves nature in spite of what it did to him. He's the human form of a shiver looking for a spine to run up. Not only dull himself he inspires dullness in others and has delusions of adequacy. So current revelations are hardly anything new.

@Robert-Downey-Syndrome You say that as a neofascist-linked far-right candidate takes the top job in Italy... Seriously?

Vanilla ice cream is less exotic or as tasty as the plethora of other flavours available. Yet it outsells many of the other varieties as it's something that may not excite but that most people can tolerate. Starmer is vanilla, very safe and boring and willing to sell himself to corporate power while pretending to be on the side of the common workers.

Beurocracy and huge salaries for management are just one aspect. The NHS is paying back private financial debt thanks to Blair and the Tories who doubled down on PFIs, and pay for corrupt pharma contracts (Pharma has been fined £100's of millions). Then since the 2014 health care bill, for-profit organisations are being prioritized meaning taxpayers' money is going to shareholders. Outsourcing is another cause as well as the sale of profitable NHS assets and land. Not to mention the multitude of lawsuits the NHS face because of failures, mistakes, incorrect diagnosis etc. Most of this has been engineered/enabled by the Government and legilsation.

I wonder if the increase in asylum seekers in the past few decades is related to our taking part in helping the US protect Petrodollar hegemony by inciting the Arab spring and invading Iraq, Afghanistan and Lybia...

@titos9809 Yep, the reason the UK is responsible for the majority of global corporate tax avoidance is the lack of transparency on the Crown dependencies and overseas territories.

@steveturner6770 He is supporting his constituency far better than any other, despite the fact that he wasn't elected. He's well known for being available to constituents and supporting local events. Your comment is absurd and wholly based on the fact that he does "other work" for the larger community in his spare time.

I'm not religious so I'll swerve this one for fear of offending. However, on the subject of the impenetrable darkness: After many weeks of excruciating soul-searching, the Tories have still yet to find one...

Between 2010 when Tories took power and 2019 alone: The rate of extra investment has fallen by 68%. 16,481 fewer beds in hospitals. 66 A&E and Maternity wards closed. 103 NHS Walk-in centres closed or downgraded. 60 ambulance stations closed. 1,000 GP practices closed. 5,000 fewer Mental Health Nurses. The number of NHS beds has halved between 1987 and 2019 and has continued to fall while GP surgeries are being privatised via the back door. How many lives has this already cost?

Yes, that may be true but at least he has the fashion sense of a Victorian gentleman and the pomposity to match. If I had a workhouse Jacob would be top of the list for possible investors.

PS I don't want it to sound like I think all Palestinians are Hamas, so please accept that when I say Palestinians, I mean those who peacefully resist and those who take action against oppression.

We should also ban muscular people, self-defence experts, trained fighters, and people who work in the armed forces. Because they are all capable of greater damage than most, which is the same as banning 'bully breeds'. My point is a dog or person given a loving environment, family and taught the basics of interactions with others need not be feared. Just because they are capable of greater damage does not mean they should be banned, exceptions obviously should be made for mental or physical illnesses that predispose an animal or human to violence. I agree with Tim, knee jerk reaction from Suella.

@jonriley8342 You should take the time to learn about sarcasm and sardonic statements ;-)

@jonriley8342 Sorry, does your failure to recognise sarcasm cause you embarrassment? because it should.

Unless you inherit over £475,000 it won't affect you and the standard rate is already 40%. If you are set to inherit millions there are multiple ways to avoid it. I'm not a fan of Starmer but Labour has also suggested a wealth tax to replace inheritance tax, as wealth is not taxed, only working income is... I realise if they lower the threshold to £125k many more people will be affected, the problem is both sides are afraid to go after the wealthy and instead put pressure on the middle and lower classes.

"Trump, Johnson same thing different side of the pond. Make up whatever you like, deny the obvious and use obfuscation as often as possible while having a slender relationship with truth and the real world. They were also both born in New York, both use the same hairdresser, both made a mess of the crisis in 2020 and both of them would make the world a better place with their absence..."

Religions that praise money are like elephants believing they can fly. To this I'll simply add good and bad are innate human qualities, you need no book to tell you which is which. I'll end with a quote from Thomas Paine that I fully agree with and which is wholly relevant "The world is my country, all mankind are my brethren, and to do good is my religion."
4
Agreed! "She wanted to jump ship after her crush Boris was crushed by his own ego. Who cares why she changed her mind? a waste of skin and a deplorable human being. If these people are the best the UK has to offer we may as well just climb back up in the trees and give up on evolution as a bad idea..." In quotes because I think it was filtered.

Reasons: Overpriced big pharma contracts, sale of NHS land and assets, private finance debt, staff shortages, fewer hospitals, fewer beds, fewer ambulances, priority given to for-profit organisations for any new contracts. I'd be surprised if half the NHS funding goes on staff wages and treatment, the rest goes into debt repayment and shareholders' pockets...

@craigandrews2089 It's curious but I have exactly the same list for the Tories in general :)

The people have spoken, and a mandate has been reached. lol, remind the Brexiteers of their own words. The catastrophic losses can't be undone but maybe we can hand the next generation a chance to repair the damage.

I'm not religious, but book burning and censorship of any kind is antithetical to human evolution and intellect. There is worth in the evolution of ideas expressed in books and they should be protected in their original wording. That goes for anything from Alice in Wonderland to the Quran.

"Keep Our NHS Public defines the privatisation of the NHS as: The involvement of private organisations in the provision of NHS services and finances The removal of public ownership and Governmental responsibility for the NHS Charging for healthcare beyond National Insurance contributions Rationing of healthcare. Keep Our NHS Public also condemns the underfunding of NHS services, particularly when done to cynically promote the unnecessary need for privatisation of services. Our definition is based on a World Health Organisation definition of privatisation of healthcare that was published in 1995 and has been used by health economists and policy commentators ever since. It reads: “…a process in which non-government actors become increasingly involved in the financing and/or provision of health care services.”"

@harry.flashman You mean her ancestors who had their feet chopped off if they didn't obey British rules? I'm not sure that particular line of argument works. We were an Empire and transported millions of Africans to America, the Caribbean and many other places. We turned tribes against each other in brutal wars so we could usurp their lands. You can't absolve our history with mention of a collaborator...

@Saul_Ferguson Politics may be an illusion but the catastrophic effects are plain to see all around us.

Please be kind enough to read and share this appeal: Are you aware that many Tory MPs have never had the benefits of a happy family upbringing? That many Tory MPs were brought up by paid help or a Nanny? That some Tory MPs only know their parent's name because it is displayed on their Trust Fund? That their closest confidant and friend is their butler? If you can spare just 10 minutes a week please reach out to a Tory MP, send them a message or a letter and tell them that they are loved and that there is a better way. Encourage them to integrate with people, you know real people. If you would like to adopt a Tory MP you should be hypocrite tolerant and have a very high boredom threshold. They require the most exquisite diet, because of their fragile constitution and need lots of care and light exercise once a year. A reasonable-sized mansion is suggested for housing your Tory MP and a large amount of public money should be set aside for future upgrades such as duck ponds, and moats; you know the usual. It's important to remember a Tory MP is not just for Christmas, they can be found dipping into the public cookie jar at all times of the year. Adopt a Tory MP today, and show them the way to a better life...

@MrMmcdaid9 I think after Ms Fulani had explained at the start of the conversation that the documentation of her ancestors was missing when taken to the Caribbean as slaves, she should have added 'by your ancestors most likely Lady Hussey'...

We need to allow free speech no matter who it offends, so long as it doesn't break laws that protect people from prejudice and hate. Blunting our tongue is an attempt to silence the populous at the exact time we need to be most vocal, especially regarding the disturbing legislation and actions of the government. The emergency services are not encouraged by a lack of censorship, but by many cuts and the lowering of standards within those forces. That is where the legislation and controls need to directed.

@billybob-jp7eh Agreed, I was against all the wars for petrodollar hegemony. But I wanted to make the statement for those Afghans who follow Tim. PS love the Sabbath reference.
