No historian anywhere of any political belief, right or left, would make such fantastic claims.   24.  @IVY12023  The Electoral Count Act became law in 1887. It was DC's reaction to the disaster that was the stolen 1876 election, as well as the dustups that occurred in 1880 and 1884. Yes, the Act was updated/clarified in 2022, due to Trump's attempted shananigans of the year before. No Constitutional lawyer believes that Pence had any choice but to certify the election. Any other idea was and is utter madness.

It was slightly amended in 2022, a reaction to the mess that happened a year earlier. No Constitutional lawyer believes that Pence had the ability to do anything but certify the election of Joe Biden.
