Only to people who know nothing about robotics.
107
The big danger is that if melts and refreezes forming an ice dam.
31
They showed the AI. That’s the hard part. The robot body is easy. Boston Dynamics and other companies are selling robots with hardware more than able to do what Tesla are aiming for.
10
Musk has openly said he’d rather be Edison because Edison actually got technology out to people.
8
Classic case of Germans being really good at their jobs, but missing the big picture.
7
This is the same problem with all of his videos about Musk
7
Tf00t you seriously need to get some help. This is turning into a legitimate problem.
6
hoshimansxl, we’re talking about ice, not liquid water.
5
@catharsis3881 because economics
5
Unfortunately, we get to see another case of Tfoot putting his foot in his mouth
5
They can deorbit using their thrusters.
4
@Argumemnon because the only way you can say SpaceX hasn’t accomplished anything is if you can’t do basic math.
4
I find the criticism that SpaceX ditched landing a dragon capsule on Mars as they’ve been developing a much larger and more vehicle pathetic and asinine.
4
A microwave that heats the air into a plasma.
4
Tf00t has made a number of basic but very important mistakes in these videos because of his blind hatred, so no we don’t the same things
3
Only if you go by Tfoot’s bad math.
3
He does everything he sets out to do. It’s just not on the timeline he predicts at the start.
3
SpaceX has revolutionized the space industry, and Tesla has turned electric cars from novelties to true competition for ICE cars.
3
A lot of scientists suffer from envy because their work doesn’t bring them fame and fortune.
3
@ilikeme1234 tell me where I said it was better than Boston Dynamics’ current robots? Don’t worry about responding. I know how you guys don’t like getting called out for moving the goalposts and other bad faith tactics.
3
@chairmankaga2821 my god, the projection coming from is hilarious.
3
They might go bankrupt if they don’t get Starship going soon, and it’s only because they’ve got two major projects going at the same time. Also, this isn’t about the scientific community. This is about advancing humanity into space.
3
@RayCromwell no, SpaceX is a means to an end. If they abandon the end, the means are pointless.
3
Every time you speak, everyone can tell you know less than nothing
3
They can deorbit using their thrusters.
2
@someguy12821 yeah, he mismanaged SpaceX to controlling 96% of the market.
2
@someguy12821 and?
2
SpaceX is doing it for about 1/5 of that, and are lowering cost constantly
2
Because Tfoot isn’t an engineer who thinks of stuff like that.
2
We already have roof heating systems. All that need done is heating a very thin layer of water so that the snow slides off.
2
City lights ruined the night sky a long time ago.
2
You’re comparing the most basic F-150 with the highest spec model of the Cybertruck. The cyberbeast model has better specs than an F-150 Raptor and costs $30k less.
2
That’s a joke, right? Even Ford knows how far behind they and everyone else are Tesla
2
And every other CEO says the company is just going to keep making the same stuff with maybe small improvements.
2
Your car just senses an obstacle and stops. Teslas see objects, label them, predict what they’re doing, and plans how move without hitting them. Properly labeling everything that is on a road is huge task that machines are bad at.
2
This isn’t a physics problem. This is an institution problem. That is where tfoot gets it wrong.
2
Micro-G isn’t that big of a problem. We’ve known how to produce artificial gravity for decades and do it with carnival rides.
2
You spend 80+ hours a week working at Tesla and SpaceX and then say that.
2
Tesla is actually under valued where you factor in all the things they’re involved in
2
@SamSeama Elon is heavily involved in the engineering. He’s even worked on the line at Tesla trying to figure out how to optimize production. Do you pay attention to what you say? First you argue that he just throws money to make old ideas happen. Then you say he sells a fantasy with the implication that it won’t come true. Which is it?
2
@SamSeama last time I checked, launching rockets and building over half a million cars wasn’t a fantasy. You clearly have no idea how Tesla or SpaceX work and keep arguing from how you imagine they work. Elon was wasting just wondering around the factory with a gaggle of people around him. He was on the line figuring out how to optimize things. He’s even got a little anecdote the time an effort he wasted trying to optimize something he figured out they could just get rid of. It’s a good lesson in engineering about communication between teams and not optimizing things that don’t need to be there. Elon is objectively a terrible salesman. He’s a painfully awkward person. People fallow him because leads from the front. That means getting involved in the
2
@toomanyaccounts those are limited solutions to self driving. They’re not comparable to Tesla’s general solution, and SFD beta is already at level three.
2
Still probably safer than a tank of gas in your car.
2
Technology has progressed further and faster under capitalism than any other economic system.
2
@dustinmj29 You don’t know shit about how SpaceX and Tesla are run. Elon is heavily involved in the engineering. He’s even been on the line at Tesla trying to figure out how improve the efficiency. Elon started Zip2, Xbank (which merged with PayPal), SpaceX, Boring Company, and Nuerolink. He also turned Tesla from a garage with a couple guys into a world class car company.
2
@isodoublet last month Tesla’s Model 3 became the best selling car in Europe. Tesla are building cars as fast as they can, but had to raise prices to deter demand. The heads of Ford and VW have both said Tesla is the new benchmark, but I guess you believe Biden when he says GM are the leaders in EV You’re apparently not a space enthusiast because everyone in the launch sector is either trying to copy SpaceX in someway or differentiate themselves so they don’t have to directly compete in SpaceX.
2
He has a master’s degree and started a doctoral program at an Ivy league school in physics
2
@Beer_Dad1975 Tesla was a very smart guy, but most of inventions were curiosities use by Tesla to fill his personal curiosity. Edison, for the many things that can be said about him, his lab invented a consumer grade light bulb
2
@1alayzzia watch the AI day 2 presentation. They show a video of it taking commands and figuring out how to execute, not just fallowing preset actions.
2
@sometimes-randall what ever educational system you’ve gone through, they clearly didn’t teach you to read properly because when the word “and” is between terms it means they’re separate things. Now with that quick grammar lesson, I said ad hominems and dismissal of my points for not having arbitrary credentials, which is just an inverted form of argument from authority. I know I haven’t gone into depth the differences in how neuro nets are different from how ASIMO and the like were programmed. Frankly, I don’t think any of you yahoos would give my experiences with y’all.
