  7. There is no way Putin is negotiating himself out of this debacle. His regime will fall and the new Russian authorities will end the war, and withdraw from ALL of Ukraine. Instead of fancying themselves as an empire they will begin to divest themselves of those notions and instead concentrate on the Russian people and their welfare. The recently began Russian civil war, enabled by Ukraine, will result in victory for those who fight for freedom. Godfrey is wrong on this topic.

The greatest country with the greatest military with the greatest culture, who had 'rights' over subject peoples and zones of control. It's their mentality, nothing to do with NATO expansion. NATO just accepts countries who want to join. They understand, as you do not, that Russia IS a threat. The invasion of Ukraine has caused - neutral for 300 years - Sweden to join. Ask them why, ask Finland why. They fear the 'Ruski Mir'.

There never was any agreement not to expand NATO - this is sheer invention for the ignorant. What there was an agreement (Budapest Memorandum) to protect the sovereignty of Ukraine in return for the surrender of its nuclear weapons. This was blatantly reneged on by Russia. Saying that 'Russia is not the Soviet Union' is a distinction without a difference. This is Russia still in empire building mode. Peace will come when Russia leaves the parts of Ukraine it occupies, otherwise its not peace it's a respite for the Russian war machine. For all his boasting, Godfrey has no clue about geopolitics or war.

  25. An invasion is only like a house on fire if it was ignited by an arsonist. Military supplies to Ukraine are the equivalent of the fire brigade. War happens when an aggressor thinks his opponents are weak and he can win. Continuing to be weak just emboldens him further.

The problem goes back to the end of the Soviet Union when Russia agreed to respect the borders and sovereignty of Ukraine in return for that country giving up its nuclear weapons. Budapest Memorandum 1994. It has reneged on that promise.

  40. So astonishing to me how many people have bought into the Russian narrative of their war against Ukraine, and think when repeating it they have come up with the analysis all by themselves. You can't distrust the MSM and then go the whole hog over to the greatest propaganda machine in history, but so many do. Listen to Marjorie Taylor Greene, she sounds absolutely deranged when talking about Ukraine. And where is she getting her ideas from? The Kremlin. Much better to seek out what Ukrainians have to say about the genocide perpetrated on them, rather than the criminals involved.

He's expending soldiers at a rate of 800 a day, killed and wounded, if he captures Ukraine he'll press gang Ukrainians into his army like he did the people of the Donbass. The EU, the vaxx, the lockdowns, the reset, the climate change crisis, net zero, are all opposed by people of deep knowledge and understanding of those subjects and there are many of them. I cannot find any such who support your views on Ukraine. Russian mouthpieces like MacGregor, Scott Ritter, the Duran and Tucker Carlson, just use assertions, straw men, half-truths and lies. Your justified suspicion of western MSM has caused your mental stylus to jump from one bad groove into one even worse. Russian media is just state propaganda. You talk about Goebbels, he was only around for about 13 years, the misinformation of the NKVD, KGB and FSB has been around over a century. You have bought their story because it’s not the BBC, not because it’s factual. Russia is desperate for western dupes to make the case for ‘peace’ i.e. their defacto ownership of Crimea and Donbass, so they can retrench even more and prepare for future hostilities at a time of their choosing. This ‘peace’ will mean that aggression works; something we fought two world wars to disprove. Our traitorous rulers are our problem to deal with. Just because the west is dysfunctional doesn’t mean a kleptocratic war criminal who hates the west is our friend.
