He does it because he acknowledges their own attitude about themselves, that they have superior needs to other countries, particularly their neighbours. In that logic, the Baltic states can't join NATO as their defence needs are trumped by Russia's. It's like saying "we have to see things from the Nazi perspective; there are Germans in Czechoslovakia, so Germany was totally entitled to invade and commit war crimes." This is what caused WWII. Seeing the perspective of an aggressor means you appease the aggressor, and encourage the aggressor.

  19. One moment Godfrey is explaining how voting is 'tribal' or traditional, next he's explaining how the Tories are wrecking the country. Tribalism has its limits when you are conscious of voting against your own interests. I voted Tory from 1979, but I will not vote for mass immigration and Net Zero. Thankfully, I live in a marginal and my vote will have weight.

  23. Too late Godfrey; Russia is already getting hit by British provided missiles in the form of Storm Shadow. They won't escalate. Comparisons with WWI are off beam. Then there was coalition against coalition, and the US wasn't in either of them. Russia is fighting alone, and is destroying itself.

  25. A sovereign country is militarily invaded, and repeatedly bombed, by an aggressor, committing atrocities and war crimes without compunction. Other countries who share a border with the aggressor, fearful of themselves being invaded, join NATO to protect themselves. Godfrey (bar-room bore) Bloom asserts confidently that NATO should not exist positing that NATO is the problem. He is either a fool or is being paid to talk this nonsense.
