  16. Excellent video! Only other thing I can think of is that iron blocks are of course susceptible to rust. Not only is it ugly, but it can dirty up your coolant, especially if you run just water like a dummy. Not a huge deal, but just something I thought to mention.

  18. PSA for Comment Readers: ANY Subaru turbo engine is not especially prone to head gasket failure. That is ONLY the NA EJ25 engine until 2010 and especially pre 2006. Read up, Watch MrSubaru1387, stop spreading misinformation. :)

  20. I actually do like the chambered better for sure. Not as much of a difference as I would expect, but very noticeable. Most of the same sound, but you actually get a bit more of the classic 4A-GE scream noise and less rushing air noise. I'd bet it removes some drone at certain RPM too. Great test! Can't wait to see what else you have in store.

  21. Ya know the biggest problem with this video is it makes me feel like I will have to remove all of my suspension components and powder coat them when I do this. Well, I guess that's not the worst thing in the world. I'll just give you a shout out, hah. Those before and after pictures were like a work of art.

  28. I wonder if those exhaust ports would be that much of a limiting factor, at least at your desired power levels. Head looks really good inside! I love to see a geared cam even if it isn't the "superior" arrangement. Does help get that nice steep intake angle though. Also wow those are pointy cam lobes. Metal shavings looked like they may have just been some stripped threads from the engine or a bolt. All the bearings look great! Awesome video. Can't wait for more. Look it's a boxer engine now! Hahaha.

You clearly went to the right place. That Hunter is a pricey machine. Same brand the shop I go to uses. It's how you know you are getting a proper alignment with an nice printout. Also when you went to McDonald's I won't lie, I wanted you to yell "COUSIN! I'd like a Big Mac pleeeaaase!" P.S. The windows still need some spit shine. ;)

  35. Β @final3119Β  Nah that's total cap. AT MOST you have to remove: Air box and tube, 5 minutes or less. Battery, 3 minutes. Washer fluid container, 3 minutes. That's genuinely it. I can do plugs on a turbo EJ in well under an hour and that's fighting rust and grime. Watch MrSubaru videos he does plugs in real time. On the old EJ engines I can do plugs without removing anything and it takes 10 minutes.

As I have learned from many small mishaps. Bummer about the front bumper, but I'm so glad you dodged the doggo. Where you were driving looks largely similar to where I live. Someday, I promise you, my MR2 with its own crazy engine swap will be out attacking the snowy roads too. You may have to experiment with Scandi flicks and left foot braking next. Ahhh! I am so excited for the engine swap. Can't wait. Your friend in the green car is a drift legend. Last note, yes everything will one day rust away and we're all gonna die, so let's have some fun.   41. Gotta admit the EJ had an extremely good run. Most engines don't have nearly a 3 decade lifespan. Surprisingly, the SR20 comes close, but only due to the SR20VET in the Nissan X-Trail. The EJ managed to get praise from drivers and automotive journalists alike the entire time, and the last EJ cars are still being sold today. The S209 even sold for over its MSRP of $65,000. Couple minor corrections. The S209 has an EJ25 and makes 341HP. The S208 had an EJ20 that made 325HP. So your max factory HP numbers were a bit off. Special editions though. Lastly, the EJ20 in any form left stock and well maintained is one of the most reliable 90s/00s turbo engines, especially Phase I. That's a hill I'll die on. ;) Great episode man!
