Rising wages in China are known, and are discussed in other articles. BUT...Covid has definitely accelerated the process of companies leaving. What might have taken 10 or 20 years, is now happening in just a few years.

  14.  @thepianoplayer416  I don't think one can separate Money and Politics. However, how they interact is different in every country and political system. When we buy products, we don't see how they were made, or how the people that made them were treated. Not everyone believes China has enslaved Uyghurs, for instance. Also, not everyone cares. Unfortunately, there is a huge gap between what SHOULD happen, and what DOES happen.

  24.  @icemann4699  Your interpretation is very dark. It accuses people and institutions of treason. I disagree strongly. Things are more complex than you indicate. Opening our markets to China DID decouple China from Russia === which was big deal. It was hoped (even expected) that opening our markets to China and bringing China into the world trading system would cause China to liberalize, and become more agreeable. Up to 2010, that actually seemed to be working. Xi changed all that. BTW, MIRVing missiles is NOT that complicated. Russia had that ability without any help from us.

  26.  @MrMichaelBCurtis  The sea has risen noticeably in places like Louisiana, Miami, the Nile Delta, the Mekong Delta, and Bangladesh. Those places are seeing land taken by the sea, or salt water intrusion into ground water. When we get to the point where it is very obvious, then it will be too late to do anything about it. We will not be able to stop, or even slow down the processes causing sea level rise.
