@Liftheavyrustylbs I have an odd take on all of this. I'm actually Australian but went to college in America (late 80s). On one hand I have a fairly personnel interest because of my friends and their families. On the other hand America is Australia's most important security and trading partner and we can't have a malfunctioning America. Thanks to people like McConnell America is malfunctioning. Worse still its an Australian Rupert Murdoch who's contributing. And before you ask yes he's a national embarrassment. I went to U. Illinois and actually spent my first Thanksgiving in Bardstown Kentucky. My buddy's dad worked at Makers Mark and I got a personnel tour and sampled some straight form the cask. I knew a few other Kentuckians as well and my experiences in Kentucky and with people from Kentucky are genuinely POSITIVE. I even visited Kentucky for business years later and caught up with the family who I spent that Thanksgiving with. McConnell simply does NOT represent the Kentucky I have experienced. So what I see (from my external viewpoint) is that Mitch McConnell does not represent Kentucky or Kentuckians. He represents a "faction." Every town, city, state and nation has various factions. Some are enlightened, some are reasonably well educated and others are as ignorant as a rock. Every nation has people like McConnell who are very good at appealing to rocks. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

@Liftheavyrustylbs Thanks. I just feel that every so often Americans need to be told that most of them are decent hard working folk and that others in the world know it. They know America is a great country, but like everybody else they have some ratbags. About the only difference is that America's ratbags are the Olympic gold medalists of being ratbags. The Russians try hard, The Chinese are catching up (rapidly) and the rest of us aren't far behind. In terms of wondering who's America's chief ratbag if have these similes: McConnell is the Bill Belichick of ratbags. He's not on the field but makes all sorts of arrangements and plays. Trump is/was the Tom Brady of ratbags. No matter how many times you think you've beaten him he makes another play. Zuckerberg, Uber, Bezos are the next gen upstart disruptor ratbags who throw things around wildly like Patrick Mahomes doing shit nobody expects or believes. NONE of that means any disrespect to Bill Belichick, Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes. They are the best at what they do and I love how they do it.

Her behavior would not be tolerated in most of the civilized world. MORE IMPORTANTLY civilized societies DO NOT put them onto important committees. I'm Australian and we do have these kinds sneaking into government just go look up Pauline Hanson. BUT we don't put them on important committees like education. Its a basic function of all societies that if you don't educate your children you don't survive. Even in the most basic hunter gatherer society if you don't train your children to hunt and gather you starve. If you don't train them to light a fire you freeze. If you don't train them to avoid dangers they die. No country can put someone like this onto the main education committee for their nation and expect to survive. What's crazy is that she actually went to college (Georgia Bulldogs) and got a degree. At some point she had functioning brain cells. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

@shaneross6242 I can't speak for any other country but I can say with reasonable certainty she would not YET be headed for jail in Australia (emphasis on YET). She'd be very close, particularly for the way she harassed that Parkland student if he's still a minor. Her denials of events that are factual would run very close to "hate speech" laws and possibly past them. For certain no major party we have would touch her for fear of the backlash.
1
@sherylhoward4831 Well said that's the word people need to start using. To the best of my knowledge (and I am not a lawyer) its NOT treason because treason is when you side with a foreign entity against your government. Sedition is when you try and undermine your government and or organize against the government rather than replace it. I have actually asked a couple of real lawyers who post here on YouTube (Glenn Kirshner and Legal Eagle) and hopefully 1 or both will clarify it shortly.
1
@dianmobo YouTube has kept flagging pro-Trump pages and some of the comments are beyond fantasy. Messianic might be a better term as there are some who actually believe he was sent by God. Genuine proper scary stuff.
1
@sherylhoward4831 Glenn Kirshner's channel --> https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrWmonkmTk5NbvmVnc7f70w FYI - he was a JAG and then a Federal Prosecutor who even tried murder cases. The guy has genuine street cred.

1
@dianmobo Well the clown screaming and ranting here has a real problem here in the REAL WORLD. There is this thing called sedition which is defined as --> conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch. Americans have a certain amount of protection by virtue of the 1st Amendment in that you are allowed to express opinions, which is not guaranteed in any other country like it is in America. BUT these people are calling for the overthrow and imprisonment of legally elected officials. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sedition I'm not a lawyer and I have asked a couple properly qualified lawyers who have channels on YouTube (Glenn Kirshner and Legal Eagle) about when does this cross the line into sedition if it hasn't already crossed that line.
1
@dianmobo Did you see the Republican official from Georgia who came and told them to just stop it before someone gets hurt?
1
@dianmobo FYI - I'm Australian but went to college in America on a sports scholarship. So I have a slightly different take on this. There's a lot of American people I care about and am really worried about. Do I think that the vast majority of Americans want to see their country torn abort - HELL NO. But right now there are (by some reports) about 48million who we should expect own guns and they are being wound up like nothing we have seen in western society since the 1930s. I don't think its a matter of if something ugly will happen its just when and how big or small it will be. We have people here who are just as crazy (as every country does) but we're lucky they don't have easy access to guns. I have seen stories where gun shops are running out of ammunition to sell. I know Biden is waiting for December 14 and the electoral college vote but he needs to be speaking out now. He needs to be reminding those EC people to vote as per the rules. He needs to be calling Trump a liar and a fraud NOW. He needs to be warning Trump that illegal Pardons will be challenged. In fact there is a way around that process - impeachment. Pelosi and co need to impeach Trump, Kushner, Ivanka, Barr, McEnany, Pompeo.... because by the time the senate meets they might have control and better still you cannot be pardoned from impeachment convictions - they are absolute. One of the YT lawyers (Glenn Kirshner) explained that a couple of weeks ago.
1
He's actually crossed a line in this and a very dangerous one - and he should know better. If you are going to be a media commentator then you have to have some disconnection or you are just another propaganda outlet. If you think through this then its actually not a good thing. Notifying people of this fund is one thing. Promoting or supporting it is very close to the edge of being propaganda. BUT setting it up when you are a media outlet/producer is over the line. His hearts in the right place and getting rid of McConnell is a good thing for America and Western Democracy in general. There are other people in other countries doing the same (or similar) thing McConnell does. Getting rid of these people is good for the world, but its no good getting rid of them in a way that ends up helping the next McConnell get elected. Just think how many times Trump screamed about biased media and his base lapped it up.
1
@toddmercure9745 I truly get the sentiment behind this and this fund is a good thing - Getting rid of Mitch McConnel should be one of the top priorities of any American who wants to start fixing Washington. BUT having it set up by a media outlet isn't a good thing. Its easy to see that right wing media will use this as PROOF of left wing media bias AND their base will lap it up. Sorry I know that sucks, but its the truth. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

I normally would not recommend CCN to anyone but they add actually did a decent job on this story and interviewed David Hogg. Zerlina Maxwell interviewed the father of a Parkland victim. If America wants to be considered a mature responsible nation then people like Marjorie Taylor Greene should NEVER be allowed to hold positions of responsibility. Every country has people like this and occasionally they get elected to government, but only immature countries put them on important committees or give them any real power. @roadrunner3232 Glenn Kirschner, who's a former JAG and Federal prosecutor and doesn't say things lightly or speak made up stiff because he fully comprehends the potential did a video a few weeks back on Graham about Graham's claim that he would not approve an AG who would investigate Trump. He highlighted Graham's complete 180 about face AFTER his emails were hacked and Trump beckoned him onto the golf course???. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbaXO_Ogw4I The issue isn't if he's been compromised its a matter of what was in those emails that made him flip so dramatically.
1
He's not spending tax payer money but he is getting Murdoch money stuffed down his pants.
1
@user-ik4mf2lu1h Ted Cruz logic - dead frozen kids don't get hungry. In Oz if one of our power companies had let a child freeze to death and the local politician had flown his family out like that he would have been forced to resign. Look just what happened to one of ours. He won the defamation court case against the media and then LOST his job because nobody knows who paid his legal bill. He's now in serious deep shite. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Om2viufzPmw
1
Considering he was one one of the key players who prevented Merrick Garland's SCOTUS hearing saying infamously "hold me accountable" and then helped rush through Amy Barrett and then more recently demanded an AG who would NOT investigate Trump why should anyone ever believe this clown ever again. Lets not forget his180 flip on Trump after having his emails hacked by Russians.
1
SigmaTauri2 You might not hear from "the truth hurts again" his claim is hate speech by Google guidelines and I reported him. Only fair after some of those snowflakes had one of my accounts cancelled for calling them dickheads and liars. Others are also reporting that the Trumpists are snitching to Google and complaining about anyone who calls out their lies.
1
@stephandreyer2944 I'm just watching this on voter rights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pc2PE7_4Y14 That's happening in the country that waltzed around the globe PREACHING for that past 70 years as the champion of freedom and democracy.
1
The difference between Gilligan's Island and the Trump White House is that only one was meant to be a joke.
1
@Kevin-pv3kg Mark Blyth brought it up in a panel the other day. We (the general public) don't know who he owes this massive chunk of money to, just that its someone who banks in the Caymans. He might be more scared of them than anyone else. His resorts have been hammered by COVID and he possibly doesn't have the money to cover the debt. Seriously would you want to owe some mystery man operating secretly through the Caymans a 9 digit sum that you can't pay or stay surrounded by an army of secret service agents sworn to your protection in the White House. He might be staying there because its a safe place where they can't get to him. Its a very interesting idea.
1
As an Australian all I can say is that he's at least no bothering us anymore. I wonder if that offer for him to go for swim had anything to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWPh8AIVLaA
1
@rylian21 No need there's a reference on his Wikipedia page. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fetterman ref #22 I have read the report and to say its the same as what happened in Georgia is utter crap. Did he over react? Absolutely. Should he have gotten in trouble for it? Absolutely. But its America. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
1
@jjmill5209 Actually John Fetterman did chase after a guy with his truck. Its there on his Wikipedia page near the end of the section on "career." There's a reverence to a news paper article which you can read. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Fetterman ref #22 There's a couple of similarities, but other than those its no where near the incident that happened in Georgia. Are some of the details disputed? Yes, but No violence, No shots fired, No one dead and the police were involved. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
1
Go look at the US pardon Law it does not apply to people who are impeached. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_pardons_in_the_United_States#Constitutional_provision Forget the 25th he needs to be impeached, that way he's not only out but he can never get back. Further if they impeach Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump and all the others who hold official position so none of them can get pardons is also important.
1
"Mick Mulvaney doesn't have a spine." In what way is that something the rest of us didn't know already? Somebody should remind Mulvaney that there was a group in the late 40s who pleaded "we were just following orders" in respect to a few things they had done at the behest of their leader. Americans were part of the prosecution of those people, Americans were part of the judiciary that convicted those people and Americans were part of the execution details who carried out the sentences of those people.

As an Australian let me spell these stats out to any Ted Cruz supporters who might be trolling. Australia has 25.7 million people compared to Texas with just under 29million. So we have a similar sized population. I went to college in America and have been to Texas several times. Australia and Texas are fairly similar in geography - as in mainly flat, with similar weather. We are both reasonably spread out with a few major population centers. Most importantly the available medical technologies are essentially identical. Texas has 69,760 dead from COVID while Australia has 1,577. Based on population Texans are almost 40x more likely to have died from COVID. So please Teddy (and any of his supporters), don't tell us anything about handling COVID. And we also consider it criminal to let children freeze to death.
1
WHY WON'T ANY OF THESE PRESS SIMPLY SAY - YOU LOST. WE ALL KNOW YOU LOST. THE ELECTION WAS CLEAN AND YOU LOST. What's the worst that will happen - they won't get let into any WH press briefings until January 21.
1
Well actually you seem to need words like treason, sedition and insurrection explained. More importantly you seem to need them legally explained which many EXPERTS have been doing for months now. There wasn't any treason, there was a seditious conspiracy and there was an insurrection. So stop ranting like a Trump supporter who fell out the other side of the loony tunes bus. IT DOES NOT HELP ANYONE.
1
She's certainly so far in front of Kayleigh McEnany and Sarah HS that she looks like super star. And no one can deny she's the breath of fresh air that American politics needed. BUT don't forget she's in politics and is the tip of the spin spear. If there's any spin to come out of the Biden WH she will be the one spinning it. A couple of weeks back some older tweets where she criticized GOP policies that she has now had to backflip on surfaced. 🤷♂️🤷♀️
1
@blala4306 Actually that's getting common across the western world. At the last European Election all the major centrist parties got smashed. Brexit was a straight out rejection of the establishment of BOTH sides. Trump was in a way another establishment rejection. People forget Trump rolled over the top of 16 GOP candidates who ran with the same bullshit they always run with. The Hilary got the same. People across the world are fed up with bullshit career politicians who don't give a damn. Ted Cruz & Nancy Pelosi are 2 perfect examples. That's what Trump basically campaigned on in 2016 - "I'm not one of them." Unfortunately he turned out to be worse. Trump did 1 great thing however he showed that if you can rally people around an idea, even if its a cheap shitty message like MAGA, you can get past the establishment machine.
1
@titusmaximus7278 I like that one - magats. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

@jal8362 Too blind to see, too deaf to hear and too stupid to think. 🤬🤬 You are right about one thing voter fraud did happen in a couple of places - BY REPUBLICANS. 🧏♂️🧏♀️🧏♂️🧏♀️

@DigESource Well actually HE IS a convicted felon or have you forgotten HE PLEADED GUILTY. Plus for his recent comments he can be recalled to active duty and court martialed for sedition and that was publicly aired by another retired colonel. But we'll have to wait until January 21 for those charges.
1
@DigESource GO LOOK AND LISTEN. Its after 6:45 and this is from a former JAG & Federal Prosecutor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeXRLBuzrDA

I might be wrong but aren't medals of honor for the military? I'm certain there's a civilian equivalent, but I don't think bimbo has any clue about basic government functionality. She mouthed off about previous public statements. A statement made in public does not make any part of the statement fact.
1
NAME the states that did not follow their laws? DESCRIBE how the did not follow their laws? Otherwise STFU.
1
Its all very well for Brian, Mehdi Hassan and everyone else to throw this guy into the middle of the street. BUT NONE OF US OR ANY OF THESE COMMENTATORS are faced with losing their job let alone faced with losing their life or the lives of their families to Trumps maniacs. DEMANDING and answer to such an inflammatory this question is almost as bad as Trump DEMANDING fealty. How many of you have put your family's at the same risk this guy has already put his family to? This is shite grandstanding by both Brian and Mehdi.
1
@R-A-F You mean the 🍊🦑 I think we need some new emojis for all this crap.
1
@skie6282 They Trumpists actually won that case in Pennsylvania. In the end the judge said the election officials had to stick to what was written in the state election law. AS FAR AS I KNOW THAT WAS THE ONLY CASE THEY WON As for all the other claims that has been explained and explained and explained and NOTHING will satisfy the Trumpists. Facts don't matter, reality doesn't matter nothing matters because these people got swept up in the madness and LIES of ass hole.

Trump plays politics the same way he plays golf. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIiaFMOfbwY

Everyone needs to remember this guy is trapped between Trumps maniacs and Democrat grandstanding. Neither Brian of Mehdi Hassan or any other journalist is risking their family. We all know the answer but DEMANDING it under current circumstances is just shit grandstanding from both Brian and Mehdi.

Aaron Neville Your part right and part wrong. America was NEVER meant to be a 2 party system - its just evolved into a 2 party system. Go look at the list of presidents and what parties they belonged to. Bothe the GOP and DNC as we see them now are NOTHING like their origins. The giant problem with the current state of the American System which has been fueled by this hyper-partisan garbage that was seeded during the Reagan years when he pandered to the fundamentalists. It came out recently about how Reagan's team just one day decided that to win they just needed the southern fundamentalists on side. Then guy named Rupert Murdoch who loved Reaganomics stepped in and drove the right wing opinion based news service off the deep end. If you go back and watch the documentary "Outfoxed" there's a warning that what he was doing would drag the rest of the media into the gutter and it would divide America into to camps lead by crazies. It was kind of prophetic. Add to that the billionaire class and their monstrous PR machines and that's just the start of the issue. America's political problems are way more than just having 2 parties.
