Sadly at some point you have to let go of people. Its one of the tragic realities of life. These people scream and howl about health care and then scream and howl when they can't afford it. No matter what anybody does or tries they block it and then scream when they can't get it. They want everything their way instant by instant. REALITY DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY.
6
Your the first person I have seen or heard say that and IF TRUE then it explains why De Sanctimonious has not attacked Trump. It means that he can claim to Trump's supporters that he's their guy while Chris Christie can't.
6
@monopalle5768 As I said previously and other have said he's fine professor and teacher and there's great content out there of his university lectures. BUT when he strays into fields that he clearly does NOT understand then he tends to fall flat on his face.
6
@underworld7148 What's that go to do with any of this discussion. Typical "whataboutism" 🧏♂️🧏♀️
6
Yeah that's an important set of points. These people are showmen and they know their audience and how to play them. A few weeks back Sagaar & Krystal on "Breaking Points" interviewed Jesse Ventura and he described what Vince McMahon instructed him to do when he first started commentating when he was out injured. Its actually fascinating to see how well McMahon understood the audience and even more interesting to see how Trump learnt from it. Its easy to find and totally worth watching if you want to understand how these people are operating.
6
I think you are right on the details, but listen to what he's pointing out. He's saying that its easier to promote a big lie if part of that lie contains a sliver of truth. Its what Conspiracy theories among Americans always do. Its sort of that 1% True 99% Garbage but that 1% makes the garbage seem true or easier to accept.
6
To All Americans: DO YOU RELIALIZE HOW BIG THIS ISSUE IS FOR ALL DEMOCRACIES? I'm Australian and this affects EVERY DEMOCRACY. America spent most of the last 75 years calling itself the "Leader of the free (as in democratic) world" as opposed to the NOT FREE Communist/Socialist World. The entire Puritanical Ideology of the RADICAL American Right threatens everybody's freedom in every democratically free nation. This behavior of NOT ACCEPTING and election result is what 3rd world dictators do. It was most recently done in Myanmar and Sudan. How many of you know that in many of those counting rooms there were International Observers as there always is for major elections? Most of the developed world INVITE people from everywhere else to show them HOW they conduct free and fair elections. When we have elections there are American Observers here. They don't come here looking for illegal stuff they come to watch, to sometimes advise, but mostly to see how we do it. We also sent observers to America in 2020. NOT 1 International Observer from ANYWHERE has made any claim or even questioned the integrity of the 2020 US General Elections. Yes America its not just the Dems and judges and a few Republicans saying it was fair and free. It is also the opinion of accredited observers from all over the world. If all of you want America to survive and I hope you do then STOMP on this garbage once and for all. There are real issues in the world with economies, refugees, famine and the biggest of all CLIMATE that is almost impossible to handle with America malfunctioning. Americans need to realise you do have friends in the world and they do want to see America get past this and simply doing better.
6
Australian here and its so damn similar here as well. Only a few hours ago I got the video below in my recommendations list. For the Americans Neil Oliver is a well known Scottish historian. In the past he has done some brilliant documentary work. So this did interest me to here what he had to say and I got a hell of a shock. It started out as reasonable. For example he hits out at the idiocy the green energy transition can just be done overnight. I'm an engineer and it can't be done that fast. We can't build that many EVs because there's not enough Lithium for the batteries. Even with new mines and new processing plants and new battery factories IT WILL TAKE DECADES. I know SOME (not all) of the greenies are idiots with ridiculous expectations and claims that are fantasies. BUT THEN he started sliding into very Trumpian anti-vax territory. At that point I stopped to check out who GB News is. Its run by an ex-Murdoch Sky News Australia clown named Angelos Frangopoulos and mostly owned by people operating out of Dubai. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GB_News Its the British equivalent of America's Newsmax. Here's the clip with Neil Oliver for anyone to check out. Watch how he slides into the Trumpian anti-vax nonsense after a couple of minutes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cACETqHXq94

Not long after Jim Comey wrote his book about leadership after Trump sacked him he was asked what he meant by saying the Trump Whitehouse is run like a mafia family. His reply was that like a mafia family EVERYTHING that's done is done to satisfy the boss and anything that the boss doesn't like is seen as disloyalty. Everything is in these simplistic and absolute frames of reference.
6
How do you really expect a narcissistic trust fund baby to behave when he doesn't care squat for anybody but himself? Sooner or later we wont have to worry about Tucker. When you play the games he plays somebody will lose a friend or family member to what he promotes (this or something else). That's a very dangerous game that risks retaliation in a society known for retaliation.
6
Summing up so far. Yeah its utterly crazy to the point where they openly admit it was all a lie and THEY planned to steal the election. And Jo OL points out why - there are no consequences. There were no consequences for the lies that started the Iraq invasion. There were no consequences for the torturing and abuses at Abu Ghraib and other places. There were no consequences for the fraud & lies that caused the GFC. There are NO CONSEQUENCES for the political establishment or the corporate elite ON BOTH SIDES.
6
You've got it exactly right and this is the single biggest media issue across the entire world right now. All these media outlets geared towards particular audiences is a huge problem. Its fine if its for stuff that doesn't matter so much like sport, fishing, cooking and other subjects that aren't government policy. But when it comes to news and politics its so incredibly dangerous. Its divides families and nations or sets them on paths of destruction.

Hey everyone Frontline PBS just posted an interview with Adam Kinzinger that's worth the time to watch. Not only does he give a scary perspective on what it cost to be on the the Jan 6th committee (his 6 year old's life was threatened) but he sounds like a mild middle of the road Democrat NOT a Republican and certainly not like anything we see with Trump suckers. Put it this way if Nikki Haley picked him as a VP he'd destroy Kamala in a debate, because Kamala is a poor debater and never sounds confident while he sounds reasonable and level headed. WTF he's doing in the GOP is damn mystery. WTF he was ever doing supporting Trump at any stage is a question he needs to answer.
6
TO ALL FROM AUSTRALIA Here are the links to the interview and the full program it was done as part of. A bit of background for those unfamiliar with Australia's ABC and the program called "4 Corners" this interview was done for. Australia's ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) no affiliation to America's ABC. It is our public broadcaster in a similar way to America's PBS and the British BBC. The program "4 Corners" does investigative long length stories the same way PBS's Frontline and BBC's Panorama do. This interview was done as part of a 2 Part special about how the Murdoch owned Fox News became Donald Trumps propaganda machine called "Fox and the Big Lie". The program included interviews with several ex-Fox presenters including Gretchen Carlson as well as the Sidney Powell interview. I have left a separate answer with additional background information about why Australia is so concerned about Rupert Murdoch's behavior in America. “There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.” ― Isaac Asimov, News Week, 1980. Actually to be fair that concept/idea holds for every other tribe, village, state, nation and empire in history. So I have this generalized update. “There is a cult of ignorance within humanity, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that ignorance is just as good as knowledge.” And yeah I am a big fan of Isaacs work. When he left the world I think we lost one of the truly great minds of this era.
6
I agree if he had been more seasoned he would have side stepped that Israeli-Palestinian question like a first class tail back. Instead (staying with the football analogy) he tried to run over a 6'15" linebacker and never got back up. The real question about his future is "will he learn from it." And the same goes for every other new progressive, because so far they just haven't understood how ruthless the establishment is.
6
@jimohara Yeah - I'll admit my poly-sci education is fairly limited (I'm an engineer) but the one thing I remember is that Orwell wasn't just warning about Communists he was warning about ANY Authoritarian or Totalitarian system. How's this for a quote. Its Former US Vice President Henry Wallace in he New York Times, April 9, 1944 (That's 4 years before Orwell published 1984) “The really dangerous American fascist... is the man who wants to do in the United States in an American way what Hitler did in Germany in a Prussian way. The American fascist would prefer not to use violence. His method is to poison the channels of public information. With a fascist the problem is never how best to present the truth to the public but how best to use the news to deceive the public into giving the fascist and his group more money or more power... They claim to be super-patriots, but they would destroy every liberty guaranteed by the Constitution. They demand free enterprise, but are the spokesmen for monopoly and vested interest. Their final objective, toward which all their deceit is directed, is to capture political power so that, using the power of the state and the power of the market simultaneously, they may keep the common man in eternal subjection." How's that for a scary accurate prediction.

A while back one of the ex-military pilots with a YouTube channel had one of his guys on and he presented one of the same thoughts that were discussed here. He pointed out how many of these sightings were in restricted military space and then pointed out where the military fly their developmental aircraft and secretive aircraft. He also pointed out how many of those programs are done on a "need to know" basis. In which case, no matter what you rank if you don't need to know then you aren't told ANYTHING. In other words if a pilot sees an experimental aircraft that's doing something like stealth research flying in among military flights with pilots who are NOT TOLD you're there just to test out if you can fly in among other military aircraft undetected then you're going to get exactly the sorts of reports we are hearing about. The someone showed a group media event NASA had on the subject and one of the NASA astronauts related how on one shuttle flight they were just about to close that payload bay doors when someone spotted a bright object and everyone on board the Shuttle freaked out because if they tried to land with a lose object in the payload bay it could bounce around like a bullet and do a lot of damage. They were just starting to prepare for an emergency spacewalk to go and get whatever the object was when someone realised that this bright shiny thing was Venus - YES the planet Venus was mistaken for a small object lose in the Space Shuttle's payload bay. The human brain has the incredible ability to assume conclusions from extremely ambiguous or small amounts of data and this is especially so with our vision system. We normally call this "tricks of the eyes"

They could try running candidates that can address the actual need of the electorate they represent. Nobody should forget that MTG won UNOPPOSED because the DNC said it was too difficult. While the DNC remain spineless corporate hacks America is doomed to have people like this in congress.
6
HAD (past tense) HAD such an important position. And lets not forget that position is at the centre of a military machine with nuclear weapons.
6
@noname-by3qz Yeah that oldest continuous culture line is a bit of a Furphy, for the simple reason there isn't any real evidence of any culture anywhere older than about 4,500 years because that's when written records started. There's certainly evidence going back further but its not recorded history. That's what is actually meant by "prehistoric" as in "before history." Without records that detail who was doing what and when who knows what any tribe or people or culture they were actually doing.
6
Yes its like watching 2 snakes fight each other to the death.
6
There's a less talked about aspect to Trump's mentality that's based on playing the part of a pro-wrestling manager. There's a great interview that Jesse Ventura gave Kyle Kulinski and Krystal Ball a while back. There's a couple of excerpts of it on Secular Talk here on YT. IN one of them he talks about HOW Trump operates. There was a year where JV could not wrestle because he'd been badly injured and he switched to commentating. Yes we all know pro-wrestling is scripted but it JV going into commentary CHANGED the standard script. Previously the commentary teams were always 100% on the side of the "good guy." JV in commentary was at the time unique because NOBODY from the bad guy side have even been on the commentary team. So Vince McMahon came up with a very simple plan and gave JV a very simple instruction - "Whatever you say is true!" It worked better than anyone thought and kicked off the whole good guy promoter versus bad guy promoter pantomime stuff that's now common. JV explains it better than I can and its totally worth your time going back and watching that interview. Bottom line is - for Trump this is all just pro-wrestling pantomime. The problem is, this is NOT pro-wrestling this is the real world and being US President involves nuclear weapons.
6
At some point I can see people confronting these people. Remember the guy who had a go at Tucker Carlson in a store some time ago. I can see this clown walking into a store or sitting at a café and ugly situations developing. These people are like the grade school brat who is always testing out the teacher and other children to there limits of tolerance and the more people back off the further they push until it explodes. I can see a moment where people finally say they have had enough and it will be ugly.
6
You guys do know that American girls and particularly American blondes DO NOT have the best of reputations? Isn't it bad enough that Hollywood portrays American girls as stupid, ridiculous and irresponsible without Kayleigh giving all those stereotypes credibility? Put it this way if American girls EVER want to be taken seriously EVER again then American girls need to stand up be counted and tell her to SHUT UP.
6
@B_Bodziak Agreed but I'd add that the sympathy only goes so far. There's a limit after which you need to say STOP. I think the word we are looking for is intervention.
6
@cindyabraham5503 its a good laugh
6
Yeah but he's really good at helping prisoners being force fed in an illegal prison.
6
They certainly have tests for cocaine and other narcotics, but I don't think they have tests for his issues. Certainly not drug tests - maybe psychological tests. 🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️
6
You mean they know Fox viewers don't buy and read books - don't you?
6
As an engineer I can tell you all that its exactly the same when anyone describes a technology as a "game changer." Almost every technology story I see in the media these days is FLAWED to say the least but MOST are simply nonsense produced by PR people as some form of capital raising or funding strategy.
6
At some point America is going to need to deal with these people. I mean truly deal with these people. These people are no longer a threat to America they are a threat to the entire western democratic world. People like Bolsonaro in Brazil and Maduro in Venezuela use the same rhetoric. Radicals across Europe use the same methods. If they don't like something its "fake news." If they don't like an outcome "the other side cheated." Whatever they do its the greatest or biggest or most magnificent irrespective of how obvious its NOT. Anything they do is perfect anything anybody else does is criminal and they need to be locked up. Here in Australia where I am we have our version of Trump a complete fraudster named Clive Palmer. His latest add which is being shown here on YouTube is claiming that his party is now the largest party in Australia by membership. Its total garbage but he says it with a straight face and NOBODY challenges it. The threat is that he almost gained the balance of power a few elections back. In our system its when no party has a clear majority and they need a minor partner to pass legislation. This is common in other places, notably Italy, Greece and Israel. We've had occasions in the past where a minor party did get the balance of power in our Senate but they acted with good faith and it worked. But to give a person like Clive Palmer that power could destroy us and he is using the exact same methods Trump does.

I'm Australian and went to college in America on a sports scholarship. I did aerospace engineering at a top engineering school. I spent various holidays with the families of teammates and frat brothers. I HAVE SEEN and EXPERIENCED the best America has and it is awesome. When Americans are at their best they can do stuff no other country can. We can claim all sorts of stuff like resources and population base, but one day they decided to just go to the Moon. Out of the Apollo program came a flood of technologies including a massive leap forward in digital computing. The computer you are on right now can trace its heritage to Apollo. Everything in the room you are in right now that came out of a factory was made using machines controlled by computers with direct heritage to the Apollo computers. What's happened to America isn't simply sad its a tragedy created by the brainless greed of a handful of billionaires.
6
@Daniel-yo5es Yes dude we all know that, but they can still file for one and have a vote taken. In this environment just filing one will set the Trump supporters off. And that's the real game - keep the rage, because that keeps the donation money flowing. Anybody whos been watching knows the Trump campaign has raised over $200million since the campaign and that was reported days ago. Who knows how high that number is now. Hunter Biden's $50k a month is 1/8th Giuliani's fees which at $20 a day is $100k a week (maybe more) which is $400k a month (maybe more). Jared Kushner has been accused of laundering $170million out of the campaign, via a shelf company (David covered that). Do you know his father went to prison for campaign fraud? This is a cash grab of extraordinary scope.
6
Actually he does have at least 1 conviction and its as solid as a block of granite. Its the conviction of all libertarians which I describe as: "I demand the liberty to strip others of their liberty!"
6
It doesn't matter what color, what creed, what tribe, what religion or what ANYTHING. You can't argue or reason with a fanatic. They're not driven by reason, logic or the general well being of others or society. They are driven by ideology. Jordan Peterson (who David's commented on) said that they can tell when radicals on the right have gone too far - its when they become racist. He then said we can't do the same for radicals on the left because there's no simple indicator. I think he was dead wrong. Its fairly simple to see when anyone has taken any idea too far. Radical Left, Radical Right or Radical anything else. Its when they have their ideology take precedence over the welfare of other human beings. Look at the NRA. What comes first their ideology of "their security" or the security and welfare of anyone else?
6
Actually they might just begetting close to that. Due to the 1st Amendment its a very difficult thing to prosecute in America. The Founding Fathers (bless their hearts) thought that being able to speak out without getting hung for it was important. But like everything in the universe (except for God) has limits and that's something we need to tell Sean - "you're not God, you aren't perfect and you have limits." For instance there is the family of a certain DC police officer who might just test Sean's limits as a person partly responsible for his death.
6
Yeah but he creates clicks and unfortunately David Pakman has a business to run.

@douglasbillington8521 Joan Rivers had this great line about Bo Derek that "she was so dumb she would have to study for a Pap test." Adapting that thought, this guy "is so dumb he'd need to study for Prostate Exam."
5
HE DOES NOT NEED PRISON. He needs help and unfortunately the sort of help he needs has been defunded by the political party he supports.
5
@geoffdyer1150 Make sure they use champion spark plugs the last guy who tuned mine used el cheapo types from Chy-naa. It sucked cos I had ta ride me wombat to work for a few days. He's great for pulling stumps but lousy in traffic.
5
There's some bullshit in calling him the "highest rating" because its highest rated on Fox BUSINESS not Fox and he got about 1/10th of people like Tucker Carlson do on the main Fox channel. So don't anyone read too much into "highest rated." Sure he's named in the legal documents and its great to see someone like him get cancelled but he's no where near that important.
5
@sobroed Exactly. Remember that kid in grade school who was NEVER at fault it was always somebody else's fault and they were always seeking attention and always jealous if anyone else got praise from the teacher? This is what they grow into?
5
I thought he 3 words she's wanted to say for 5 years are "I wanna divorce" or are they the 3 words the rest of us wanna hear her say so we can laugh at Trump. 🤷♂️🤷♀️

For anyone interested here's the Wikipedia page on CRT -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_race_theory

@jamesgentry6814 That's a fair comment. If you go all the way back to the documentary "OutFoxed" they did warn that Murdoch's "opinion presented as fact" business model would eventually be copied. You only have to watch CNN and MSNBC for a couple of hours to see that was great prediction. Jon Stewart had a great jab at the entire news media a couple of years ago after he dropped off the Daily Show. He told them they should all take up a hobby and that they could try Journalism. Long before Trump came around the problem with the media existed. What's changed is that its now totally out of control on the right. Fox, OAN Newsmax don't even try and report reality anymore and in some cases THEY SIMPLY MAKE STUFF UP. That's the difference.
5
Speaking of golf he just got millions from the Liv golf tour to use one of his courses. If he needs money he could also ask Jared who as I believe a couple of billion in Saudi cash to play with.

@whyamimrpink78 In Australia you can own almost any gun that is available for sale & ownership so long as you meet the licencing requirements for owning that gun. Its sort of like the licenses for vehicles - motor cycles, cars, trucks, buses and taxis all get driven on our roads but they each have different licences. Every gun that is available for sale in Australia gets classified into one of a list of categories. To own guns from a specific category you have get a license for that category. Most importantly you have to have a reason for getting the license to own a gun. Farmers have to deal with pests and injured animals that's reason and allows certain guns Professional shooters who deal with feral animals have a reason to own certain guns. People want to compete in shooting sports that's a reason to own certain guns. People want to hunt ducks, deer, pigs,... etc. that's a reason to own certain guns "I want a gun" is not a reason. There is a giant misapprehension that Australians are not allowed to own guns. That's WRONG. So long as you can get the license you can own the gun. We just don't make getting any firearm license easy.
