  28.  @mtlicq Who warned "us" explicitly? The thing I notice with a lot of conspiracy theorists(and I have read widely on the topic since the late 70s) is that they talk in riddles. Rarely are decent sources or links given . Let's have some sauce! You tube is particularly big on "Do your own research" types, and it turns out "research" means watch more videos by people without credible sources. Conspiracy stuff that seems credible to me are things like "The Panama Papers" and Edward Snowden's revelations for example

I didn't mean start a platform for profit, I meant just put up your own site to promulgate your stuff. I remember the 70s & 80s - all you could do then was samizdat photocopy stuff, or maybe bulletin boards, but who had a modem in 1980? So we've come a long way since then.

  36.  @gillianchisholm6432  Things to understand - a) confirmation bias b)scientific method c) I have actually been to hospital, not with covid but with a chest infection with an underlying condition(COPD & asthma) Now you might have the same infection as me, but because you do not have underlying conditions you'll just feel rough for a little while , maybe take some antibiotics or not, but I need IV antibiotics, nebulisation, bed rest in hospital etc. Gillian, I used to be OK, but people like myself who have respiratory problems already may die from viral pneumonia, covid, or flu precisely because they ALREADY have underlying respiratory conditions, which is why we get vaxed against anything we can to stave off being admitted to ICU

I don't "believe" any covid vaccine is safe. I am taking a risk taking any medication, but for me, as someone who has COPD, and been hospitalised for it before covid, it was the best course of action. You are just using FUD. Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Covid isn't a game for me - it really is life and death

Ironically there is no true church/separation in the UK (Archbishops can sit in the House of Lords & the Head of State is head of the Church of England) but organised religion has lost its hold on the country and has become a minority pursuit.

  44.  @TheSpanishEnigma  I have COPD (a respiratory illness that has me on the "clinically vulnerable to COVID" list with the NHS) so the rise of Omicron has not helped me feel better about things. I have had 3x pfizer vaccinations. Even though there is still c.150 covid deaths per day, which once would have panicked everyone, now a great many people seem to have become desensitised to it, especially those who believe themselves to be at low risk of death or serious illness.It remains to be seen how things will be after Xmas. I am on sick benefit and the gov has just dropped the rate by £80 pcm. I am currently living in a friends flat with him. The whole covid thing has done me no favours unsurprisingly. I am fearful of needing to be admitted to hospital and hoping they don't get overwhelmed. Hopefully I am due another vaccination sometime in mid to late January. I get most of my food ordered from a supermarket online & delivered so at least I don't have to do battle at the shops. I have very little social life in person at present.

  45.  @TheSpanishEnigma  Luckily there's less craziness - there's some vax hesitancy but not as much Qanon style antivaxxers, ironic that Wakefield, the father of the antivax movement is a (struck off) English doctor. The NHS is one of the things that has helped hold things together as people trust it more than if it were a for-profit business. From here US doctors remind me more of drug dealers than the image they have here. Also people are becoming more & more united against Boris and his Brexit shitshow.
