Look if I hate all white people, that makes me bigoted. If no woman will ever touch you, it's because you're an asshole, not because you're white. But there's this third option where, in the fantasy world where you're likely to actually ever consensually know the touch of another human being you have picked up a disease. And in doing so become a bad fit for anyone who gets a blood transfusion. If we then decide to not take your blood, that's a medical decision not racism. Glad to help clear that up.

There are no religions that are internally consistent with external occurrences. There are no gods that are reliable moral actors. It's a collection of mythologies knit together around both the very human desire to explain things they cannot understand, to believe that there is something other Then just death at the end of existence, and the desire of people to use those desires as a means of control. It's not terribly complicated. It would be wonderful if there was an afterlife, it would be interesting if there was some kind of supernatural. But there isn't and the world is still a beautiful and amazing place regardless of that fact. People have the option to be good people without any kind of supernatural pressure. There's just physics and the consequences of physics. And that's okay.

  33. You ought to give some credit to how they have seen technology be co-opted and commodified in the modern world time and time again. The internet was going to be a informational Utopia that would be the fulcrum point against which corporations would be leveled. Fencing wire was going to revolutionize the small herd owner. Industrial agriculture was going to make the family farm join the Jetsons. I'm nobody's Luddite. I'm pro-technology and my own version of a transhumanist. But there's reasons people are suspicious about technology. It's promises exist, but it's application has so often resulted in it benefiting a very small group of people at the cost of a larger one.
