I'm just aware that the two organizations are different despite the fact that one stole the name of the other to go ahead and try to cover themselves in the reputation of the larger and formerly more dangerous group. Hafiz Saeed Khan and some others were really bent out of shape that they weren't calling the shots at a higher level among the Taliban, and left to create ISK. Khan is dead now, but the organization is still based in controlling and winning as much territory as possible within Afghanistan, and is built and functions in response to internal Taliban power struggles.

This (successful) attack was an attempt to create respectability in the post-US environment in Afghanistan where the Taliban will be the dominant power players. 3. Methods of attack: again, The majority of Daesh were a conglomerate of nationalities trained by former Republican guard soldiers of the Iraqi army, with a sprinkling of professional mujahideen and some cross training abroad, often with experienced fighters from Chechnya providing some specialist. The ISK are... Taliban. Same TTPs, same resource base, same gear. They're a bunch of former Taliban calling themselves something new as they fight for power in Afghanistan. That's all.

  37. Part of the reason people are getting let out early is a lack of public defenders to meet minimum standards. A well-supported criminal justice system actually results unless ritual offenders being released. Having public defenders doesn't guarantee anybody gets off, it guarantees that they aren't released because they don't have a public defender.

And the primary job of firefighters in most municipalities is as emergency medicine first responders. Again, what you see on TV or what people assume isn't reality. It is not that the public defenders want to spend their time doing this, it is that there is no infrastructure to provide them the stability they need to properly defend their client. You can't flame the client who doesn't have a house because you can't even meet with them if they're busy trying to not starve to death. Hiding behind this is a lack of social workers, a lack of case managers, a lack of so much that public defender's find themselves in the exact same spot that much of major metropolitan law enforcement does, being called upon to do everything except their job because every other bit of supportive infrastructure was removed.

You're being given facts that are easily verifiable and you are refusing to engage with him because they do not match the mythology of personal responsibility that you cling to. Water is wet, debating the philosophical definition of wetness does not change that fact. Attacking infrastructure, pruning it beyond all possible sustainability and then blaming the individual remaining parts for not being able to do more with less is a particular kind of stupidity. No amount of window dressing, sophistry or arguing is going to change the fact that it's still stupid. You're a Soldier. You have enough education, enough means enough ability to do the research on the individual specific facts I have presented. You do not question factual intelligence because it doesn't match the strategy you want to use. You would just the strategy to reach the appropriate in state based upon the facts on the ground. Adjust your assumptions. There is no shame and accepting that you didn't understand just how bad the situation was, or the realities of the situation. But it is embarrassing to see a United States Soldier double down, then double down again on theology one of all people you should have some fundamental training in dealing with problems based upon the facts, as opposed to you your feelings about what should be happening.
