@rickmartin9420 - give me a break. Without India's participation in the war, the Brits would have been hopeless. Look at the number of Victoria Crosses awarded to Indians. I come from a long line of Gurkhas, and the Brits got plenty of mileage out of us and the blood we shed for them.

Apparently, German media can't even find any French analysts to analyze French politics - go figure
269
@tilapiadave3234 - just have to make solar the cheaper and more convenient alternative, and people will shift to it on their own

a RIGHT is NOT a reward! :hand-purple-blue-peace:

Nimisha Jaiswal sounds like another Kavita Krishnan

You're speaking of Kashmir as if it's a monolithic entity, which it certainly isn't, and trying to portray the Srinagar Valley as if it represents all of Kashmir, which it doesn't.
52
How are we supposed to believe that all farmers live only in Haryana and Punjab? Rest of the country (95% of the population) don't show any similar signs of protesting. :body-blue-raised-arms:
47
"But the camera does not lie." - huh? Cameras have been used to lie more times than we can count, across history.
45
DW News is supposed to be German, is it not? So why do they have some Indian Leftist masquerading as a German news reporter? This Indian Leftist is only interested in peddling his hard-Left politics, and not in conducting an impartial interview. This guy isn't German - he's an Indian Left-wing activist masquerading as "international foreign media". He seems to be some commie from Calcutta, trying to lecture Indians from a foreign pedestal. It looks absurd.

When it comes to Nixon's tilt toward China which lasted 40 years, Indians didn't love that. US has pendulum policy on democracy -- they pretend to love democracy in Western Europe, but then they leaned heavily towards dictatorships like Pakistan and China for decades. Taiwan, HongKong, SouthKorea were dictatorships for decades with little to no representation for their people - but US had no problems with that. When Brits had to leave HongKong -- then only they suddenly introduced democracy and called it sacred. What did the US do to the indigenous population of Diego Garcia, located near India? Why was the elected govt of Imran Khan in Pakistan overthrown in a coup right after Pakistan's army chief was called to Washington to meet with Victoria Nuland? Care to answer, smart guy? I know I'll only hear the sound of silence from you.
34
@1:54 - Pakistan is not a democracy - Pakistan is controlled by a shadowy praetorian military behind the scenes. That military has rigged elections to install their preferred people as civilian political leaders.
24
You should also include Russia in your unity. This would solve many problems for you. They have a lot of energy resources you could benefit from. You could even build an undersea gas pipeline.
22
Sepoys have fled to the welcoming embrace of their colonizer masters, gifting them with their Indian-sounding voices. They will wither in that embrace, as things never end well for sepoys.
18
Was Yanuckovitch govt free and sovereign? Apparently not, according to NeoCon Nuland. Was Iraq govt free and sovereign? Apparently not, according to same Neocon regime-changers. Was Libya govt free and sovereign? Again, NeoCon Nuland was also involved in toppling that regime and replacing it with chaos and destruction. But thanks for not asking.

What experience does he have? I've seen him smiling at various ceremonial events. But how does that equate to ability to govern? He knows he doesn't have the ability, and so that's why he's looking to hold elections as early as possible, so that he can step down.
13
@Bradymcbridhe8304 - you mean the Anglo Eyes? Because that's what it is - even France, Germany, Japan aren't allowed to be in there. They should rename it to the Five A's.
13
Where is Victoria Nuland? Shouldn't she be distributing cookies right now? The Cookie Monster.

Same supplier as pagers

I'm not saying it was Israel but.... IT WAS ISRAEL :face-fuchsia-poop-shape:

@colebiggs7296 - "NATO allies" - So NATO now signs its own treaties, does it? United States of NATO? "One Nation, Under Article V, With Liberty & Justice For All" Japan and South Korea are "allies" of the United States, not the nebulous NATO. (And by "allies", I mean colonial possessions)
10
ohhhh, riiight - every Indian is RSS to you. And Westerners are all pious saints.
10
It seems like the Indian Left are redistributing themselves under foreign media banners to call themselves "international media". Neither of these 2 "journalists" look very international to me - they look like Urban Naxals. @2:26 Notice her gratuitous use of the phrase "Hindu nationalist govt" instead of just saying "govt".
9
They've done this a number of times before to various other countries.
9
@23:00 - mentioning Reporteurs Sans Frontieres -- seriously? They ranked India 10 places behind Taliban-ruled Afghanistan. That's absurd, and calls into question the basic integrity and objectivity of the report.
9
Superpower is a loaded word - India can achieve faster growth now at 7-8% compared to its traditional 2% under decades of Congress Party rule. The late Narasimha Rao was the only economic reformer in the Congress Party, and it's no coincidence that he's the most hated by that party today. The Congress Party exists to preserve the interests of the Nehru-Gandhi family and its pyramid of cronyism. Economic reformers like Narendra Modi have their work cut out for them, but there's an increased optimism that he can make headway in loosening India's knot and breaking the logjam.

At least US intelligence hasn't vaguely blamed "pro-Chinese group" for the underwater sabotage :person-turqouise-waving:

Imran Khan is all fluff and no substance. Modi is a democratically elected prime minister, while Imran Khan is basically a puppet who was selected by the military as they rigged the election to help him win, after they ousted his predecessor from office. Modi may not speak english as fluently as Imran, since the latter got a seat at Oxford through his family connections, but I find Modi to be more authentic and having better leadership capabilities.
8
@tilapia dave - I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic. Anyways, solar panels kill lots of insects, so they're not environmentally harmless.

As an Indian, I'll forthrightly say that China's space program is much ahead of India's. China launched its first astronauts to orbit 2 decades ago. India will get this done by 2025. China has already built/operated its first space station, and is moving on to their next generation of space station. China has already landed 2 rovers on the Moon, and 1 rover on Mars, as well as returning lunar rock samples from the Moon back to Earth. China also has multiple private sector launch companies, some of which are now launching customer payloads to orbit. China has even demonstrated a quantum encryption communication network via satellite. So if there's a space race happening, it would be a race between USA and China, not anybody else. India is in a second tier, along with Japan's JAXA and ESA.

the guy was running a criminal racket -- some "party leader" he was :face-blue-covering-eyes:

Hopefully he doesn't carry a pager

Main reason to look for another job is that war is going to end soon, since OoKrayEenas are collapsing. No troops left means no more war. Zelensky doesn't have to pay any political flunkies, since his outlawing all other politicians means no politics to be done. Dictator has no mandate. He'd lose to Zaluzhny anyway.
7
You just described West's attitude towards Global South.
7
1.5 billion Indian voters would disagree with you but for you "every other autocracy" means "every other non-white country"
7
It's the democratic will of the Indian people to give asylum to minorities being persecuted in neighboring countries -- nothing wrong with that
7
The interviewer and guest seem to mainly be shilling for the opposition Congress Part in India, trying to steer the topic towards whether the govt has been capitulative toward China. Given that it's a centre-right govt, they're being far more assertive toward China than the left-wing opposition would have been. More pertinent questions should have been asked, like will the current situation then push India into joining the Quad alliance with the USA, Japan, and Australia? That's a topic that the left-leaning interviewer and guest would rather not deal with, as it doesn't suit their left-leaning politics.
6
@wrath98 - they can, but I'm Indian myself
6
"Tower 22" should be renamed "Tonkin 22" :face-blue-covering-eyes:

@Kevin - the difference is that India's been feeding itself for generations, while Pakistan's been living off foreign bailouts for generations. It's become a lifestyle for them, and they can't live without it. When India's PM goes to UN, he talks about development, about improving institutions, about international cooperation, etc. When Pakistan's PM goes to the UN, he just screeches at India in front of everyone. That's why Pakistan is starving. Pakistan has squandered its entire existence on irredentism and revanchism. Stop equivocating.

Guy was hiding in the bushes poking an AK47 with a sniper scope through the perimeter fence, only a few hundred yards away from Trump, one hole away. He also had bags filled with ceramic plates hanging on the fence, as a shield against potential incoming fire. Is that convincing enough for you? If not, then you're saying something about yourself.
5
@legatilegions8055 - oh, of course, we're all ignorant in front of NATO - that's why we're going to need NATO Re-Education Camps
5
@farazraaz7857 oh, and don't lecture us about education when your country is known for churning out regressive cavemen from madrassas. India produced far more Nobel prize-winners and other international academics far earlier than your country ever did. That's why we have our own GPS satellite system and can send spacecraft to Mars, while all you can do is strap on suicide vests hoping to reach your virgins in heaven.
5
One gets extra money from NATO, the other gets heavily fined by EU
5
@R v in future we'll hear "This is Shehla Rashid, reporting for BBC News"
5
they going back to Japan

:face-blue-covering-eyes:Her explanation is nonsense and shows complete ignorance. The purpose of SpaDex mission and space docking in general is not to merely assemble smaller satellites into bigger ones. The purpose is to demonstrate the technology/capability for docking a space capsule to a space station in the future. Docking can also be used to effect repairs on a satellite, or carry out replenishment of its consumables. Also, the Chandrayaan-4 lunar sample return mission will use multiple spacecraft to carry out the sample return, requiring them to dock together along the way, passing the sample along like a baton. These are the types of applications that space docking is used for. Also, satellites don't need to dock to "transfer information" -- that can be done wirelessly.
5
I'm surprised you didn't say it was "ISIS"
5
What about German neighbors?
5
@Lily Shanti YOU'RE LYING AGAIN. Every existing citizen is treated equally under the law, and this bill doesn't change that. This bill applies to persecuted people who are not already citizens, and does not affect those who are already citizens. You seem to be trying to deliberately deceive everyone on what's going on. YOU'RE PREDATORY LIAR.
