  1. yes and that’s the thing. precisely. Hancock has never suggested the entirety of the Amazon. And this guy was additionally addressing all the clickbaiter story writers who then take what Hancock has theorized and blow it up into sensational clickbait making ridiculous claims like as if the whole entire amazon was an engineered ancient civilization. But this guy acknowledges the nuance and I do not interpret or judge that he took issue with Hancock personally directly. Yes parts or some was. And then yes also the whole magnificent web of wild jungle places also continued to exist alongside ancient civilizations engineering parts or regions. Which then all turned back to jungle after they got the pox in the 1500’s.

It seems that he speaks more directly and frankly than Rogan’s cia guy. But of course, it could just all be a ruse. Nevertheless I shall listen and try to learn.

Although, I quibble, and I believe that it is demonstratable, that although poverty seems to have diminished in an “overall sense”, poverty had increased in some places, or remained constant at least. And plus Kurzweil did not specify the specific context of the question. As in, is it referring to world wide poverty? Poverty in America? Poverty in Africa? Specific context is needed for questions of this ilk.

Very clearly and very specifically in Romans in the Bible, the Apostle very clearly delineates how all our sin is washed away by Jesus Christ when an individual accepts Him as Savior and His salvation. Very clearly, very importantly, the Apostle Paul wrote about this in Romans, and also wrote about, in Romans, how we, even after redeemed by Christ, will continue to struggle with earthly sins and desires of our “flesh” as we continue to live. But now, we do not go to hell for sinning only once and needing an animal sacrifice to cancel it out, as with historical Judaism. So, I love this exScientology guy and I support his work, but he was very specifically very incorrect about sin as it relates to salvation through Jesus Christ.

  16. never really got into his podcast. Had too many others that I was interested in, like Hardcore History and theMichaelBerrySho. Tried watching a LondonReal episode once and I dunno, just wasn’t interested I guess. Did not “suspect” anything about the guy at all. But in hindsight I am wondering if the “slick look” and facade was what rubbed me the wrong way. I like a good suit of clothes but sometimes you know, people dress slick in order to cover up their con game.

  26.  @minkowski4d  yes and i always wonder if people are still allowed to learn new things. like a non scientist person with no science degree can effectively become a scientist by reading many books and doing independent experiments, which is how a lot of science discoveries happened over the centuries. But yah kinda almost seems like nowadays, people say you’re not allowed to learn like that anymore. Are people allowed to freely learn new science things anymore?

  30. it’s a weakness of our modern times that we have gotten to the point where even though somebody is in fact doing an actual thing, we have the tendency to not believe it if no video or pictures exist. Dude has plenty of videos of and pics doing the actual stuff. Maybe not this one particular thing however.

The quality of his voice… his speaking style… i dunno how to explain it… but it enrages me and I have to click out of the video very quickly. Because I want to sharpen and develop and re-develop my critical thinking skills more and more all the time. And I want to be free. And I want to fight for the freedom of all individuals in America. Including their freedom to choose to not be free, should they choose that. Yes, it is definitely annoying but I also feel, emotionally quite necessary.

  44. the thumbnail had a screenshot from the movie Contact with Jodie Foster, a 1990s movie. I frikkin’ lovvvvvvved that movie. Even though I had already watched the 1970’s Star Wars by that age, I still really didn’t know what was meant by the words “science fiction movie”. Star Wars was just a really awesome movie to me at that age. But when I saw Contact, it was really the first time in my nascent adolescent life where I understood what was meant by the phrase, “science fiction”. But I also loved the story of the movie Contact on its own.

Brilliant of course and EXACTLY the nasa type nerdy type stereotype that you would picture or imagine. Yes they frikkin memorized everything haha and could do those calcs on a slide rule freaking fast too

  49. and besides, the issue/stereotype of the eastern European “models” or prostitutes or whatever… That all rose to prominence and became a huge problem during the communism of the soviets. So yah, prostitution and sex slavery and trafficking has existed in every country regardless of politico-economic systems. And yes it is simultaneously true that the problem and issue is/was magnified and broadened by the black markets and eastern Euro/Russian mafias that arose during communism to buck equally terrible and tyrannical and anti-freedom nature of that system. People literally sold themselves into sex slavery in communist countries because of the despotic government so that they could in theory survive and eat and make money. This is a documented and interesting and tragic phenomenon.
