I'll let you guess who uses guns the most, and I'll give you a hint: they aren't "White supremacists". In fact, they aren't any kind of White at all. Third: to repeat- for the vast majority of the nation's existence (up until VERY recently in fact), there were little- zero gun restricting laws, while simultaneously, things like this just didn't happen. Why all of the sudden are guns responsible? What's your reasoning that while gun laws became more strict, gun "incidences" (for lack of a better term so that WokeTube doesn't delete me) skyrocketed in recent times? These are all undeniable facts, regardless of what you think or say.

So for the time being, it is the only factor we have any idea about. Also, I'm pretty sure that it IS the only factor when talking about probability. That's pretty much what the definition of probability MEANS: if you have x number of habitable planets, on how many will life arise?.....See there? The more planets you have, the higher the chance you'll have something similar or identical happen. This isn't a difficult concept to understand. Why are you having so much trouble?

Maybe to an alien, traveling light years isn't a big deal. You keep not putting things into relative perspective. And that's completely untrue that ants are relevant only because they are part of our ecosystem. We study animals for many other reasons other than that. An example would be scientists studying sharks not because they are intelligent but because their skin naturally is antibacterial. We study organisms to learn myriads of things we can benefit from, a lot of which have nothing to do with our ecosystem. And before you say something like "humans don't have skin like sharks", you have no idea what they might be studying about us (assuming they ARE coming here). How do we know they are even studying HUMANS? They could be studying a multitude of things on Earth. Nobody has any idea what they might want to come to Earth for. Simple curiosity would be the simplest reason as a space-faring race would be curious by default as that's exactly what drives technological advancement.

If we had the ability to travel light years and discovered life on other planets, guaranteed we would do it. If we discovered civilized species on these planets, you can rest assured we would be most interested in these species. Even if we knew of a multitude of planets where this was the case, we'd still be interested in each and every one, even if they were less advanced than is, as most likely, each one would be different having taken different evolutionary paths. Seeing as how humans are the only species on Earth that meets this criteria, it is not somewhat stupid to think they'd "waste" their time on us. In fact, it'd be somewhat stupid to think they wouldn't.

  30.  @hacker2ish  How about the probability we get when we look at the fact that life DEFINITELY arose here and did it VERY QUICKLY after the Earth formed, suggesting that the probability of life forming is rather good in the right environment. Now if we look at the number of planets most likely out there, there a HIGH probability that there are LOTS of other planets with the correct environment, given what we know about extrasolar planets thus far. Now, since there are must likely BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS of other planets with the right environment for life to form and the probability of it forming is most likely high (since we remember life formed VERY QUICKLY after the Earth formed), this would suggest a HIGH PROBABILITY of life teeming out there. So yes, I'm quite sure.

So based on what we know as facts, the probability is near impossible that there isn't life out there. If you want to toss random numbers in and guess, go ahead. I'll stick with what's known so far.

You can look at it and call it whatever you want to and look for arguments all over YouTube but that IS what it suggests until we find something that suggests otherwise.

  34.  @hacker2ish  AND I'm not making the assumptionthat life formed under the condition that I observed it, which cannot have been without life itself existing. We KNOW that at the beginning of Earth there was no life and we KNOW that now there is. So at some point, life HAD to have arisen in a different environment....which only widens the margins in which life can thrive and makes it even MORE probable to exist elsewhere.

  38. Well this is an absolute lie. It halted the IMPORTATION of "assault" weapons. It did NOT halt the sales, nor magazines over 10 rounds. I know this because I legally purchased an "assault" weapon in 1998 WITH some 30 round magazines and a 100 round magazine. Now what was it you were saying again about how shootings dropped because nobody could purchase "assault" weapons? Furthermore, you need to stop watching so much CNN. The VAST majority of mass shootings are done with PISTOLS and by one certain group of people, who if I call them out, my post will probably be deleted for being a "racist" (for telling the facts). I'll give you a hint though: it sure isn't anyone on the right and it MOST CERTAINLY isn't White supremacists!
