The South China Sea dispute is framed by outsiders as China vs Southeast Asia but that's not true. So many countries in the region claim various islands and sea in the area. Philippines' claims overlap with Vietnam, Malaysia and Taiwan's claims. You have no idea what is going on here. Please just leave the Asia-Pacific alone.

The Imperial Japanese viewed the Aboriginal Australians as "Asiatic people" that needed to be freed from the Europeans. Genetically speaking, the Aboriginal Australians share the same ancestor that gave rise to all Asian groups (excluding Middle Easterners).

Also, technically speaking, the Aboriginal Australians share a distant genetic connection to the Japanese. Both groups descend from an East Eurasian lineage. In fact, all people in Asia (except the Middle East) as well as the natives of Oceania and the Americas descend from East Eurasian lineages. That's why they all share common traits like the ABCC11 dry earwax allele despite all looking different to one another.
