"Github copilot better than junior" Dude who the f did you hire?

What's the worst thing that could happen... *Siphons the entire AWS account

I can confirm I was there when clean code wasn't written.

I used odin some amount about half a year ago to build a chess UI app, and I have to say It was a VERY PLEASANT experience. It's like if there was C but it's not the 80s anymore. I REALLY WANT TO GO BACK TO WRITING ODIN ASAP, Imagine you had a technology that made you say that.

"At that time, I was the kernel maintainer, so much more important than him" "See how things change, Pekka?" These guys are legendary
99
replace every sentence in the article with "I have a giant ego," and it won't lose any informational value.
81
FinOps are literally the guys deciphering AWS bills for a living.
58
Am I really the only person that looks at programming and my brain instantly goes to "I WANT TO LEARN ALL THIS CRAZY $#!T?"
49
Prime, the ultimate mustache analyzer.
19
reverse racism is a term used by racists to describe racism they don't like.
18
Commit names as puns on competing commercial products are nothing unusual in hobby projects. Pretending like that's somehow evidence of stealing IP is just beyond ridiculous, unless he literally went and copied their codebase in that commit.
17
Yes, I did. Unfortunately it was written in lua, so as you can imagine, the moment I stopped sending string identifiers was the moment it kind of lost its ground.
15
This dude is funny as heck and the audience is just silent LOL. Too many javascript devs there.
15
0:11 no, that's actually what FAANG salary is if you didn't spend your money in America
13
If the theme was space, this man clearly won, just sayin'

What I like about older guys is that they don't feel the need to jump on bandwagons, because they've just seen so much that they know things come and go, and I've internalized that too, and it does wonders for me. (Don't tell my gf)
9
oh man, lua is such a good first language for newcomers... putting bash in A tier really does scream below-avergae front end developer.
8
@valethemajor I used microui with sdl.
7
20-30% less reported defects. Seems these guys broke their reporting.
7
How did they debug the game when it took 6 minutes to even load up?
7
actual great devs just say they make stuff.
7
go for it you beast
6
If C++ looses its pool of "expert developers," it won't be to rust.
6
The boringly practical way of go is the sexiest way to program to me. I don't even know why that's controversial. Also wtf does 100% end-to-end testing coverage even mean...
5
...while on drug induced psychosis.
5
You're rewriting something because of performance in a language with a garbage collector. Average typescript brain idea.
4
@davez5201 I have been doing that for the past 7 years
4
It's probably true that you don't have to transpose the matrix if it's float32 4x4, because the entire thing is 64 bytes, which is one cache line, so in that extremely common case it can actually be made even faster, you just load it into the SIMD registers directly from the definition, done.
4
"Your age will never be a long int" Oh my Lord "It won't even be a short" Oh Jesus
4
@farrenh I'm just saying that go should not be your first pick if you're going for performance.
3
How do you manage to look like you agree with everything when you basically disagree with this persons' moral framework :D
3
@justanothercomment416 fyi. I don't think there are any censorship filters for marxism on youtube. This wave of whatever this political mess is is quite a bit worse than the regime we had in Czechoslovakia back in the day. Luckily it's mostly isolated in small groups.
3
@justanothercomment416 But you saw the comment, which means I'm not shadow banned...

37 MILLION LINES OF CODE is bigger than the entirety of chromium.
3
Dude, Not Like This, those iterators are really stupid
3
You know when your programming is bad by assuming it's bad and working backwards. The easiest way to spot mistakes is when you know they are there.
3
he picked exactly the worst possible example for when you want abstractions.
3
I am a pretty happy helix user. Just like Odin, it's joyful to program in.
3
That's a leaderboard of how much stuff people google in a given language, not of how many people use the language. It explains a lot about the results too. Golang really saved this one for me, the results I would consider really bad otherwise.
3
I feel like good PR is underestimated in software and for that reason I am happy the gopher was included
3
Pole...lol Nice to meet you pole get ready for a tough birdie to swallow in this video. (just kidding bad humor I know)
3
@isodoublet Go is so much simpler in its toolchain and in its semantics and doesn't have the historical heritage pile of garbage cpp has that I can't help but completely disagree. Pointers have not been a significant problem for me in go. Don't get me started on "generics that actually work"
2
@jeffreysmith9837 It got WAY out of hand here.
2
Legendary video with a mandatory algorithm boosting comment from me.
2
@zac9933 Maybe this is some kind of personality disorder
2
@bedro_0 I don't get it LMAO
2
@bedro_0 Sometimes my IQ is lower than other time, LMAO.
2
Casual reminder there is indeed no digital element in the periodic table.
2
