"Colonialism is a bad thing" well, that would depend on what colonialism replaces and what colonialism produces. Singapore doesn't seem to have emerged form its colonialism experience in such bad shape.

two pronged approach needed. 1. reverse policy and make asylum applications made ONLY from outside the UK valid. 2. those that try to enter the UK with no valid UK asylum granted get returned to France. France has to accept them, as it is the last country that admitted them before they failed their UK asylum application.
20
Just have the Navy tow the boats back to France and deal with any court action that results.
20
"maybe he is not on the island, maybe drugs involved, all this weird stuff going round", listen, honey, i'll tell you what's weird. searching for 12 days and finding nothing in an area where there is no evidence Jay even went to! that's weird!
19
how about instead of building more accommodation we just reduce demand. end immigration.
19
yes, Butterworth, Ukrainians and Hong Kong Chinese come and respect UK laws and try to better themselves. Those who come from the Quran reading nations do not, as only the Prophet's law is to be respected.
19
Good to hear that Tommy Robinson's question "what race is Islam?" is being echoed.
19
had the Ukrainian flag been dumped on the fire I might have been tempted to shop in M and S, but no. the Lidl advert, with its white family and white kids, has secured my custom for Lidl.
18
i wouldn't assume Jay ever intended to take a bus anywhere.
18
@Israelipropaganda criticising a block for enforcing rules that could lead to thousands of EU citizens losing their jobs seems pretty valid to me. remember, UK could also enforce UK immigration rules on all those Spaniards who work every day in Gib.
18
@run2cat4run comparing Christ with Mohammed, I think we can see which of the two was the most violent and hateful.
18
oh boy, the Spanish Police now desperate. they spent 12 days searching an area that Jay never went into, found nothing, of course, interviewed and then released the 2 suspects, who are now on a flight to Paraguay. It doesn't get much worse than this! Keystone Cops at their worst.
18
the natives are at the back of the queue in Britanistan
18
the interviewer desperately failing to grasp the idea that forcing children to celebrate a particular agenda is wrong.
18
Nigel had the chance of embracing Tommy Robinson a decade ago, and refused to. a bit late to ride the bandwagon against extremists now.
18
Not only is Great Britain not great anymore, it is no longer Britain. Might as well call it Migrantia, capital: Londonistan
17
"many many more houses are built" right, so now a massively increased carbon footprint is acceptable?
16
there are still 6 people who think Jay went into that wilderness? when will the penny drop that you solve the crime, and Jay will be found!
16
well, well, well, the Scotland Yard detective goes back-peddling furiously and admits 2 weeks of searching for a body that was never there while ignoring the obvious criminality behind the scenes was a mistake. time for this old fool to start listening to the internet sleuths a little more attentively.
16
assimilation is not really the issue. plenty of communities don't assimilate much. just respecting the laws, traditions and the indigenous people would suffice. the Amish refuse to assimilate to American ways, but their own values are so virtuous, they are welcome in America. Britain's ghettos would be wonderful too if we had unassimilated Amish, instead of the rabble we actually imported.
16
nice touch, to speak in Scots Gaelic for the interview. would have been useful to have English subtitles.
16
also makes sense in modern day Britain that "history of violence but no criminal record" would be a true statement. if only the guy had misgendered someone or said "all lives matter", then for sure he would have a criminal record.
16
yeah, for GB News to broadcast an accurate assessment of the war in Ukraine is absolutely disgraceful, right?
16
A hospital in Gaza is also a military base,
16
Good on the French! They deserve to party at our expense. Only a fool would send money to a nation whose best interest is to see as many migrants leave their shores as possible. Party on lads! Rest assured, the British electorate will make sure the next UK government continues with the same policies! Guaranteed!
15
"Jay was alive when he last left the property", well, yeah, you would have to be alive to leave a property. a corpse can't really "leave" a property, but is "taken out" of a property. so, Jay was alive when he went out to buy cigarettes, but then never "left" the property again, but his body was removed. Got it.
15
Given that the UK is so far ahead of the rest of the world in maths, science and language, it is a great idea to let the rest of the globe catch up while our genius students debate if a human can be a cat, and if a man can become a woman.
15
and we are told Russia is where there is no freedom or democracy.
15
@Bill-uf6os more green = more debt, more poverty
15
If Susan Hall loses, the Conservatives might question why they didn't back a Conservative as candidate.
15
@peterholden3672 You got one word wrong, only one. "Let YOUNG people fund their own retirement and stop looking for another handout". The multiplier effect on state pensions is absolutely enormous, because gone are the days when people sleep with bundles of cash under the mattress! How do you think banks loan out funds to entrepreneurs without access to people's savings? The NHS is a total drain on the economy. In my experience, countries that have private medical insurance schemes have much better health outcomes. Bizarrely, when obese chain smokers have to fund their own treatment, they tend to lose weight and stop smoking! or die. either way, they are less of a burden.
14
What? Mogg is saying the width of the Channel is the problem? So, the Channel is wide enough for thousands of boats to go from Calais to Dover, but the Channel is too narrow for boats to be turned around and escorted back to France? WTF?
14
the threat is now much greater given the extent of the help GB has naively thrown the Ukronazis in Kiev. Had Bojo been a statesman, instead of a clown, and encouraged the peace deal being hammered out in Istanbul in 2022, we wouldn't be in this disastrous position.
14
@andylane247 because statistics only reflect reported crime, not unreported crime.
14
"between stealing and starving" they only way he would starve is if his local council refused to offer him basic shelter, so I guess he is saying he was forced to starve because illegal immigrants had been offered all the accommodation.
14
absolutely anyone should be allowed to stand for election. Democracy is letting the people decide who represents them, whoever that person may be.
14
Sunak, Starmer or Putin? Which one is most likely to tow the migrant boats to France? Putin gets my vote.
13
integration is not needed at all. respect for the host nation's laws, contribute to the economy and not be a parasite, and keep immigration levels low enough so that the nation does not lose its identity. with those 3 things, immigration works fine.
13
For all Australians that voted for this government, you got what you voted for. Next time, vote for anyone advocating cessation of immigration.
13
no one cares about the second home issue. we all care about a leading politician with morals of the gutter who is a hypocrite and a cheat.
13
no integration is needed whatsoever. many groups, like the Amish, have refused to be integrated and have done very well. all that is required is respect for the laws of the home country, limited numbers, and be productive rather than parasitic. integration programs are a waste of time for all those who don't want to be integrated.
12
This s++t doesn't happen in Russia.
12
there may well have been demands. ask Lucy.
12
the only policy that will work is to insist that all asylum claims are made before entering the UK
12
poetic justice that they all end up sharing a cell with Iyla Bryson
12
This is very simple. The government must decide either to accept those who arrive on boats across the Channel as asylum seekers...in which case, start praising the "people smugglers" for providing such good transfer service, OR declare all such arrivals as illegal migrants and deport them immediately, by turning their boats around and dropping them back in France, where they were in a perfectly safe place and legal. Given no migrant is arrested in Dover, one must conclude the migrants are all legal, so the numbers will only increase.
12
@rosemarykennedy5430 so, the best alternative to waiting 2 hours in the local cafe was to wander around the wilderness and get thirsty? do you think the phone call to Lucy was genuine? it's all so murky.
12
@anonnemo2504 totally agree. blaming France for accepting cash and encouraging illegal immigrants to cross the Channel shows how useless UK is. It is the UK's duty to police its borders, not pay France to not police our border.
12
it is in the interests of France to both take as much money as possible from UK AND to let as many migrants out of France and into UK as possible. therefore, France needs to be taken out of the equation, and all boats towed back and migrants kicked out onto French beaches with all valuable removed from said illegal migrants to cover costs. so, France, take us to court.
12
the problem is, the government has decided such arrivals are legal, hence no arrests are made on arrival in Dover. that's why I'm confused why the "people smugglers" are vilified, because all they do is to allow asylum seekers to get to the UK to legally claim asylum and be housed at tax payer expense. The "people smugglers" are doing a good job. The UK government is terribly confused and can't figure out if this is all legal or not!
