  22. USSR and Russia not the same thing. That said, Russia is very experienced in winning wars of attrition (as seen in Chechnya, Georgia and Syria). Russia has prepared for this conflict and will not run out of weapons. The West has made so much preparations and is as at a loss to know what to do in a conflict where air superiority has not been attempted and thus not achieved. Unless NATO gets involved with planes in the air and boots on the ground, Russia will exhaust the West. There is also a good chance Russia will win even if NATO does get involved in the air and on the ground.

  23.  @Slotsaurus  NATO's unrelenting expansion, despite promising in 1990 not to do so, is a major red line for Russia, as is the relentless shelling of ethnic Russians for 9 years in Donbass. Russia was totally provoked, and with hindsight, should have intervened 9 years ago.
