If only Fareed had the slightest grasp of how most of the world views the US view of a "rules based order".
30
"Capitol Police were grossly outnumbered"....one shaman, 10 policemen! Bang goes that argument for police refusing to stop the shaman
23
Fani and Nathan are very much on trial, in the court of public opinion, and both have out of their trials looking sleazy and corrupt.
20
Ukraine had plenty of tanks and planes at the start of the war. they all got destroyed by Russia. what makes you think replacing all those tanks and planes won't mean they all get destroyed, again?
15
what makes you think Putin's successor will be less of a Russian nationalist?
12
Learn what a war of attrition is and then it will all make sense. or, just for homework, look at how Russia fought in Syria and won, and look at how USA lost in Syria and Afghanistan.
12
is it as horrible as the children murdered by Azov Nazi shelling in Donbass over the last 8 years?
11
firing NATO missiles into Russian territory may well prompt Russia to return fire into NATO territory. I mean the destruction of Berlin or London may not matter that much, but it may.
11
Milley's job is to say what his commander in chief wants to hear. That is a good reason to NOT believe him.
9
it is indeed a great strategy. The case is already lost, so may as well let the public see just how biased and bent the judge is and what a sham the justice system has become. it will see more support across America for Trump.
9
would be more useful if the retired colonel analyzed why NATO got it so wrong in Kabul, 2021 and is getting it so wrong again in Ukraine, 2023.
8
@MAKCOH818 maybe not, but I do know how to play chess. do you know how to play chest? or chess?
8
Russia hasn't started fighting yet. DPR and LPR militias, Chechens, Wagners and convicts have done nearly all the front line duties and heavy lifting. The convicts and drunken mercenaries just routed Ukraine's finest in Soledar. the first 12 months is just warm up for Russia.
7
@glenn Dale the families of the 120,000 dead Ukrainian servicemen aren't laughing
6
Ukraine can't win, so don't waste your money.
5
and still lose!
5
did you cry at all the Donbass children killed by Azov Nazi shelling for 8 years?
5
@dandansen571 more than approves! ever since his brother died of starvation, Putin has held firm beliefs in his heart that are thoroughly unshakable! "approved"? Putin lives and breathes my ideas, and for the most part, so does all of Russia
5
@takeitasacompliment. what you call "propaganda" and "lies" are my views on the matter. deal with it. now, to the details. "well documented" and "reliable sources" mean nothing. Name them.
5
I'm sure you'll be laughing even more when Trump is elected president.
4
@TK-nk1cv Ukraine was part of Russia before the Soviet Union. The Crimean War was fought between Russia and Great Britain, not Ukraine and Great Britain
4
the very same arguments made about Russia's violations could equally be made against USA. why not strip USA of all its assets outside the country as recompense for violations made in Afghanistan, Iraq, Grenada, Panama, Libya, Serbia, etc etc?
4
"don't break the law, you won't face jail time" naive fool.
4
it is baffling that you believe the video is genuine
4
will do so once I hear Zelensky has sold his mansion in Miami and his villa in Tuscany to help fund his own army. deal?
3
@gd3369 or we all fight free speech with more free speech and start talking about an enforced "back to Africa" policy to avoid problems with BLM.
3
@larryhuston8433 you must be ready to kick Biden out then!
3
absolutely not
3
@heathermccall8015 No one has promised they would NOT put nukes in Ukraine! But we do know Zelensky has requested that right! Far too great a risk for Russia. Let's see what would happen if Russia started negotiations with Cuba on revisiting rights to arm Cuba with nukes. Am sure USA would recognize Cuba's sovereignty and give the nukes in Havana a thumbs up! Not!
3
@alanbellas513 Ukraine was in the process of joining NATO and NATO issued no guarantees that Ukraine would remain non nuclear in perpetuity. Grounds for Russia, as per the Budapest Memo, to request a security conference, which was rejected by the West. Big mistake. Hence the mess we have now.
3
@alanbellas513 by stating that Ukraine once belonged to Russia I am indeed arguing for Putin's right to claim Ukraine. I argue for the right of any world leader to claim anything. Doesn't mean I would like such a claim put into destructive action. so let's define what "pulling a Hitler" means. Delineation needed. Was USA invasion of Iraq "pulling a Hitler"? why, or why not? it is obvious that Putin DOES accept the sovereignty of Ukraine! Putin has been in power for decades, and accepted Ukraine's sovereignty right up to the 2014 coup. And Putin STILL accepts Ukraine's sovereignty! Putin doesn't want anything to do with the likes of Transcarpathia or Vinnitsya or Lvov. Those Bandera strongholds will never accept being Russian. But Putin does challenge, rightfully so, the Ukronazi sovereignty over ethnic Russians in Donbass and Crimea. and you should too. I have no problem with US bases all over the world. My problem is with whining snivelling hypocrites who wring their hands about Russian aggression and Russian invasions when the West does exactly the same thing repeatedly. It's your hypocrisy that is wrong, not the US bases.
3
bet Ukraine is starting to wish they had implemented the Minsk Agreements
3
don't underestimate the rabid anti Ukrainian sentiments of the majority of Belarussians. The silent majority outweigh the protesters
3
how did you feel about all the Donbass citizens killed by Ukrainian shelling over the last 8 years?
3
@chino3796 but you do believe "Ghost of Kiev" is a real pilot, right? And you do agree that Bandera, a Nazi murderer, deserves to be a national hero of Ukraine, right?
3
@karimcherki130 same for me, lived and worked in Ukraine in 2018, saw the Nazi influence growing and how the Russian speakers were treated. I left and never went back nor would go back.
3
"Wave after wave of Russian soldiers" = the reservists have arrived, with plenty more on the way
3
@dandansen571 check the exchange rates...ruble exactly where the Russian governent wants it, one of the best performing currencies of the past year....the sanctions failed:)
3
@takeitasacompliment. I don't say absurd things like "reliable sources"...the focus is all on you here. so, let's get to it. BBC you say? I'm trying not to smile, BBC, hmm, ok, got the link to what the BBC says on Russians shelling in the Donbass?
3
One pretty reliable source I found over the years of Donbass shelling from 2018 onwards, when I worked in Ukraine, was my students. I could find no reason to disbelieve what they told me.
3
@johnriach8365 I mean the children buried in the Angels Alley and the ones my students told me about. You have been to Donbass, right?
3
@takeitasacompliment. particularly intrigued by this claim that Russia even fired from Russian land on them (civilians in the Donbass) before 2022. Got the BBC link to that one please?
3
@takeitasacompliment. how reliable was BBC in describing the "Ghost of Kiev"? Did you give the BBC 10 out of 10 for reliability on that one? and the heroic stance on Snake Island where the Ukrainians fought to the last man, but in fact surrendered. good accurate reliable reporting there?
3
Bealrus will side with Russia if ordered to do so. For right now, Russia just needs Belarussian territory as a base and a threat.
3
"Russia's war with Ukraine" = Ukraine/NATO's war with Russia
3
uhhh, colonel, exactly which bridges over the Dnipr will still be standing when those Leopards head towards the Donbass?
3
imagine being a Ukrainian soldier, told Bakhmut is of no significance, knowing some of your fellow soldiers got massacred there, and you are expected to fight to the death, for a place of no significance. no wonder Ukrainian morale is rock bottom.
2
so a 4 year sentence for using the f word, walking through an open door and being escorted into the Senate chambers! CNN is just so funny
2
"Russian missiles evaded Western air defences" I thought NATO technology was far superior to anything Russia can produce?
2
@TheJrr71 How would you explain the judge's conclusion that Mar-o-Largo is worth only 18M?
