There's just something about guys who self-identity as "nice" 🤮
777
The Bible is not appropriate for children. Full stop.
226
“the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” -The Treaty of Tripoli 1796
207
Conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism is what is actually antisemitic.
199
A right-winger talking about 'the left wants power' is such projection. More power for those at the top and less for everyone else is what DEFINES right-wing politics.
115
There's a word for colonialism brought home. That word is "fascism".
114
Honestly, I can't even tell how much of his unhinged ranting is sincere vs a grift so I can't even tell, but I've reached the point where I no longer care. He's only doing harm to the progressive movement at this point, and that and that he cannot be reasoned with at this point are all that matters.
86
Unity without justice is called "appeasement" How well did it work last century?
82
"More extreme weather of every kind" is what they told us it would be and that is what we see. Anyone who doesn't understand this is lying.
68
Picking a marginalized group to target to distract from their involvement in illegal, anti-democratic activities? I wish this was new... -.-
63
Everyone who things that is actually far-right and doesn't belong in the party.
49
Just the first sentence: "Things need to be particularalized, rather than generalized, as a general rule" said without irony or any indication of awareness, and his audience/cultists eat it up. He's a charlatan quack who (to use his framework) has a messiah complex.
42
Seriously, the way he talks about his former patients is consistently horrifying and has been for a very long time!
41
Mixed figure, but when he was right, he was right!
41
@kyle1235 you mean when Clinton had brought Reagan's neoliberalism into the party and abandoned unions and such? Yeah, we still haven't gotten back to where the party was before that.
39
Because she's a white nationalist....because Ms. "Jewish Space Lasers" is a Nazi.
36
Didn't just ignore it. Dismantled it!
35
Alternatively: toxic masculinity is what an asshole teen boy thinks being a man is, and many never grew out of even well after their hair started going grey.
35
The right ALWAYS projects.
34
I'm suspicious of anyone ever trying to sell me gold. If it's such a great investment, they should be wanting to buy up as much of it as possible for as low a price as possible without my added demand driving up the price. Doesn't take much thinking for red flags to pop up everywhere.
33
It's not legal. It's being done anyways.
33
The point of no return seems to have been when Bernie followed through on his promise to support the nominee in 2016. Whatever grip he had on reality slipped right then and he's been wandering ever further from the plot ever since. Idk if its a grift or insanity or if there's even a distinction between the 2 anymore, but he is ever increasingly a liability to the progressive movement at this point.
31
He already has. It's called "the hill"
29
You really pissed off the racists with that simple observation. 😂
29
@michaelarmijo4112 ah yes, "progressives" who like Steven Crowder and Tim Pool. Drop the BS chud. We know what you are.
29
Not just conservative, fascist It was a fascist one. It wasn't even subtle with how close they came to drawing parallels to the Nazis.
28
@purplenights1 "nothing I can do about it" Objectively false. You could also learn what's in the vaccines but that would require using your brain for a change.
27
It's almost like their outrage has nothing to do with what happened and everything to do with who they can get away with blaming. Too much of the blame is on their hands and suddenly it's "wrong" to even talk about it.
27
@John-Paul Hunt Trump is a steriotypical cult leader though and qanon and elements of the Maga movement can absolutely be correctly characterized as cults.
27
@Kira1Lawliet we're seeing (in a great many ways) why it's important that EVERYONE get people in Congress to represent them so that no-one's problems get ignored. And yes, that ABSOLUTELY means having youth representation in Congress. How do you not understand this?
26
He's already gone full conservative. The only difference would be if he admits it or goes further right than that.
26
She's not jaded. She's always been like this. Don't forget she was a Goldwater Republican talking about "super predators" back in the day.
25
@sineadmurtagh943 no, it's not. Legally speaking, the right to seek asylum is protected, and our constitutional rights are generally not limited to citizens but are structured as restrictions on what our government can do, flat out. We're just ignoring our own laws.
25
@seanmatthewking they don't want to eliminate political conflict. One of the characteristics of Ur-fascism is that life is lived for struggle. They just always want to be on the top of it. Even if they magically got a society of straight, white, conservative/fascist, Christian cismen, they'd just divide along different lines and it'd keep going as long as there are people to divide against each other.
25
He'll never admit that because he's ageist against the young.
23
”Never believe that [they] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. [They] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” -Jean-Paul Sartre (edited to try and keep YouTube from suspiciously censoring it)
23
We're talking about self-identifying as the US usage of the term. It's high. It's very high.
22
AIPAC needs to be Nuremberged.
21
Usually? A neoliberal. Sometimes? A neoliberal that's more bigoted than normal.
21
@John-Paul Hunt are you ok? You're not even coherent.
21
The talking head let his arrogance go to his head.
21
When the US gets a president that cares about international law....so not anytime soon.
20
Double irony: the term "toxic masculinity" was created by men's movements, not feminists, but today's "MRA"s have so completely abandoned actually trying to help men in favor of complaining about women that they think terminology from the original form of their own movement is misandrist propaganda and their brains shut down in anger as soon as they hear it, leaving feminists to continue making progress on men's issues without them. The feminist movement has picked up the torch they dropped in their tantrum-throwing so all encompassing that they forgot it was even theirs to begin with.
20
Libertarianism: n, 1-the belief that unchecked accumulation and concentration of private economic power will maximize freedom for everyone 2-making a golden calf religion out of the invisible hand of the market (typically with as little understanding of economics as the average Christian has of what is actually in the Bible) 3-dressed up neo-feudalism.
20
@formerdemocrat9972 fun fact: that is a straight-up lie. Among active duty, it's even below 40%
20
Justice isn't something inherent to the universe. Like homes, it only exists when we make it.
20
Homophobia (as it involves something going up the butt which makes a lot of guys insecure) and other elements of toxic masculinity
20
We should force water bottling companies to move to areas getting increased rainfall and forbid them operating in drought-striken areas.
20
Chomsky's an anarchist. No room for ring kissing there. Jimmy's going to have to rely on his ever increasingly far-right audience for that bit of ego stroking.
19
Which is how we know that it's not weakness but complicity.
