Capitalism: "you know, if we get our workers to say "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas" it will make our customers who celebrate other holidays (like Hanukkah) happier and spend more while still being inclusive to Christians" Faux News: throws an annual hissy fit, breaking from their normal sucking off of capitalist "free" markets to make sure they're not being inclusive.

The poor generally have far less free time than those of median income due to a number of factors. If you have a problem with public transit being congested you could A-move the costs of improving the system to drivers, because they benefit by reduced commute times because of the lower traffic B-move the costs to businesses (especially those in urban areas) who will economically benefit from the improved infrastructure C-acknowledge that public transit is a public good with a multitude of benefits (dirrect and indirrect) and fund it out of the general budget D-ask business owners to change the work schedules they make so that start times for shifts are more staggered throughout the day E-do several of those options F-fuck over the poor making them waste time and your public transit system as a whole (which will drive more people to commuting by car, which will fuck your traffic situation too) so you can be a classist bootlicker. You chose F. Congrats asswipe, now kindly F-off.

@Etaoinshrdlu69 not true. Like, not at all true. You're just repeating talking points you were taught and never questioned.
7
@GlobalWave1 um, your 2nd sentence is a fragment and loaded with a bunch of buzzwords you're not even using quite right, and is built on at least one logical fallacy, and you're not convincing me you know where the actual center of the political spectrum is....and even if all that was fixed, you still just straight-up ignored my pointing out that just saying what amounts to "look spooky far-left people" isn't really going to scare a lot of people left of center. Tl;dr wtf was that excuse for a reply?

Taxes are not theft. Taxes are what gives your currency the universal demand that creates its exchange value and how you pay your debts to those who labor outside the market economy to make your civilization possible.
7
He was always kinda a jackass you needed to take with a big pinch of salt, but the moment Bernie endorced Hillary in 2016 is the moment that knocked him off the tracks. He's been heading further and further towards crazy down ever since and there is no way to stop him. On the upside, he's starting to get so far away from the plot and bleeding off so much leftist support as his audience becomes increasingly fascistic in proportion, that he's finally starting to loose relevance as he drifts into the more fascist circles and out of being a liability to leftist ones. ...and good fucking riddens. Whatever good will he may have earned with his earlier work is long since spent.

What? No, the Kurds are nearly the exact opposite of Al Quaida. Please research Rojava more.

Reguarally going out and saying things you know will get you insulted to reinforce your ingroup/outgroup distinctions like you Jimmy Dore fans regurally do is a behavor most associated with cults and how they increase dependancy on the cult. Just pointing out the red flag you just displayed that's showing how you're being wrapped up in the cult of personality Jimmy is creating around himself, intentionally or otherwise.

@josiahmccallister3150 the amount of energy and computer parts wasted in "mining" them are absurd and it only has the value it does because of people paying real currency for it. That's why its price is as volatile as it is. Normal/real currencies found their excange value on debt relations, traditionally the debt to the people who work outside the market to make your civilization possible, mediated by the fact that the government of said civilization accepts them as taxes, creating a foundation of universal demand. Cryptocurrencies have nothing like that. They're no more actual money than nfts or stocks which give no voting rights or dividends. They just get to trick people they are because they look like it and people are taught myths about what money is and its origins.

Rather than an anecdote, I'll point to how consistently conservative dating apps fail. Not our fault no-one wants to date you, bucko.
7
@JosephMetts wtf are you even talking about?
7
It's not even patriotism. It's crass nationalism. They just equivocated the terms because bigoted nationalists wanting to turn back the clock on history starts to sound uncomfortably similar to something else.
7
@whyamimrpink78 ah, trolling here this month pink? Which community were you last in that caught onto you being an empty pathetic troll that led you to switch this time?
7
@aliamjon2550 you're subbed to a bunch of fascists. You don't get to hide behind that one.
7
Not as funny as the author, self-describing as objective, and then dying from years of heavy smoking because she associated the self-poisoning with the appearance of intellectualism. I can't think of a better metaphor for her "philosophy"

Let's be clear, there is a mountain of evidence (from polling to interviews with normal people) showing Bernie's essentially unprecedented appeal with independents and even moderate Republican voters, especially in the rust belt Hillary alienated with her elitism. Even those who disagree with his policy specifics pretty universally say something to the effect of "I don't agree with him on everything, but I believe he believes it and will actually fight for working people, which is more than I can say about anyone else." The image of a "Democrat" in the mind of a Republican-leaning voter is that of a spineless corporatist who will talk out of both sides of their mouth while enacting onerous regulations that they will put in loopholes for the big businesses that pay them off so that all the actual burdon will fall on the small business owner and normal person. Bernie has shown he is able to buck that image. Warren has shown she cannot. Hell, she can't even convince a lot of us on the left that she won't sell out through either greed or lack of spine, so pulling people over? Good fucking luck.
6
@bondjames5874 well he's sure not a leftist.
6
....kinda telling they went through with this after their recent scandal, huh?
6
@RSW552 no, Bernie was the more electable candidate and if not for the pandemic and BLM protests, Biden was on track to loose to Trump. Way to prove you don't understand politics at all though.
6
Unironically, rates of psychopathy are remarkably high among CEOs (like 20-25%) and it's a fair assumption that politicians in our system are at least as bad. That's your starting point before you add in political ideologies that, among other things, dehumanize large groups of people (including poor people).
6
@nikolamilicevic1040 try reading that again
6
@guacamolekid3899 I will never not appriciate the eagerness of people like you to provide evidence to my claims.
6
He lies about everything. The only question is if and what else he might do.
6
Right wingers gonna right wing.
6
I think the phrase is "seen but not heard"
6
Not even joking (well, ok, only half joking, but real question): you can notice a difference???
6
Ha! Or Pelosi's or Biden's or Hillary's or McConnell's etc etc etc
6
A good starting point could be to just put a huge tax on unoccupied buildings to pressure them into converting unused buildings into something useful. This would also help small businesses with their rent prices.
6
The right really has only 2 insults: Some variation of "dirty commie" And projection That's it.
6
And yet every "centrist" wanted to pretend the arguments were really about immigration laws.
6
Does spreading anti-intellectual rhetoric help the right or left more? Food for thought.
6
I don't know her story, but I remember seeing stats durring the Bush administration that showed the leading cause of teen homelessness was parents kicking their own children out on the streets for being gay. That's how morally bankrupt our country has been for a long time.
6
Yeah well, as China has proven, corporatism and state capitalism are actually adjacent political systems...tankies are just too dumb to understand this obvious fact, but what do you expect from people who think creating a ruling class in a totalitarian state brings you closer to actual communism?
6
@icarus313 people decide their views on war based on that all the time. Sorry if you don't have a moral compass when it comes to that.
6
@theywouldnthavetocensormei9231 funny how the laws of supply and demand don't exist for people like you whenever it's inconvenient for those already holding wealth.
6
Calling it a genocide is acknowledging reality. Calling it a war is what is ideologically biased.
6
That's survivor's guilt fuel right there.
6
Beau of the Fifth Column has had some pretty informed, concise, and insightful commentary on the Afghanistan withdrawal (as usual, tbh) if you're looking for quality commentary from someone with a military background. Don't judge the book by its cover, btw.
6
*if there's no arms embargo, there is ACTIVE support of what is happening.
6
@Mark.Richter self awareness of a conservative
6
Because they wanted the results they are getting to try to deter people from comming here. This even matches the statements of those of them (like Trump) dumb enough to say aloud the parts that are "supposed" to be secret.
6
@HIIIBEAR the whole NPC thing, like everything else, was projection.
6
I mean, he's a full-out fascist, so...
6
Average Ben Shapiro viewer.
6
@I PUT MY BALLS ON YOUR DRUM SET if you want people to even take that number seriously enough to discuss, what's capitalism's death toll?
5
@kevinnk5584 Dore and his little personality cult are one of the biggest obstacles to the progressive movement right now, so no, it's justified.
5
Enclaves for people who hate people.
5
@DissociatedWomenIncorporated it gets worse. If 1×1=2 then 1=2 and 2=1 and 1=0 and 0=1 which is basically as close as you could get to a mathematical negation of existence itself!
5
“the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion.” -The Treaty of Tripoli 1796
5
@RSW552 yeah, because of the BLM protests and hundreds of thousands of dead from a historic and mishandled pandemic. I mentioned that.
