  10.  @NGHealthCoach  he spoke out against the bill at the time, while it was being debated so it's not a post hoc excuse (also voted for it because of a law reguarding assault weapons which, my own thoughts on that aside is something he promiced to do) and he has a massive criminal justice reform plan you could look up if you cared about the truth. And no, considering that the only sources comming up when I search for your accusations about his staff are far-right sources known for their dishonesty, that doesn't hold weight either. But sure, deflect to accusing the guy with a long history of fighting racism, a huge amount of non-white support, and a substantial record of responding to even unfair accusations by making sure his black critics got a fair chance to speak before responding with respect of being a racist to disrupt people talking about how racist Biden is if that makes sense to you.

  13. Life doesn't get rights; people get a right to life. Untill around 20 weeks the cns isn't developed, meaning all conversations about personhood, and therefore rights are absurd. And that's not even getting into the right to bodily autonomy or the fact that abortion prohibition is about as effective as alcohol prohibition. To support abortion prohibition, you have to argue 1-a fetus is a person 2-that person's rights can override the right to bodily autonomy of another 3-the policy is effective enough to outweigh the costs The "pro-life" crowd can't do 1/3rd of what it needs to do to support its position and keeps giving the game away when they oppose efforts to end poverty and provide comprehensive sex and relationship education along with free contraception. It's just about punishing women for sex.

  14. Bigotry is just a more metastasized version of the same psychology we see in bullies in elementary schools. And while we're on the subject, the psychology of domestic abusers, cults, and fascism is basically just the same thing adapted to different scales. They do what they do because it alleviates their inner feelings of weakness which so terrify them and because having someone to kick down to is the only thing holding up their pathetic sense of self worth. They NEED their fix just to feel remotely normal.

  37. I don't buy the tazer thing. That's rediculous. She drew from the wrong place, disengaged a safety, and put it in her field of view. I'll maybe buy that she pulled out a gun to intimidate and maybe use if he got a weapon and misfired because she was recklessly breaking every gun safety rule at once (pointing at someone you don't intend to kill, turning off the safety, and ignoring trigger discipline) but they can't have that be the conversation, or the conversation would turn to why cops in general are so reckless with their firearms and maybe result in rules about when they're even allowed to point it at someone (with anything not falling under that being rightly considered reckless endangerment).

When they are working as an employee of the government, they have no such right of refusal short of quitting their job. (Also the "2" part of that is debatable too, as marriage is a contract in the eyes of the state, and there's no justification for the state to prohibit that to be multilateral)
