I'll go even further: Facing the consequences of their actions due to tables turning is the only way the far-right ever even approximates learning anything. All sympathies for the innocent children and all wishes for any methods of alleviating the consequences for them, but the adults facing consequences is not just something I'm indifferent to but something that (in isolation) is a GOOD thing!

I would rather force them to declare martial law over striking workers than let them declare it over street protests that they (and the msm) will spin as riots. Make them prove that they see us as slaves.

Exactly. We either believe in the importance of consent or we don't. In every way imaginable we teach guys through our actions that consent is irrelevant. We surgically violate them as babies, treat their consent as expected to any advance from a woman, and turn their consent into a punchline if they ever step outside the letter of the law. Is it any surprise that some percentage of guys take the lesson of "we don't care about men's consent" to mean that everyone's consent is irrelevant? Hurt people hurt people.

Because we know that they don't care about protests and the media will fall in line with government propaganda on such events. We have rulers, not representatives. They do not care what we think. Real leverage must be applied in one way or another.

Even if I choos to forgive, TRUST is a whole other level entirely and they've PROVEN that their ethics and judgement are unreliable, so I would be a fool to trust without extreme reason. There's a reason why forgive and forget are different words. I don't even trust DEMOCRATS who didn't support Bernie because they've proven that my human rights are negotiable to them. Former MAGA can pretty much forget trust because I'm ALWAYS going to be watching for backsliding. Living with the consequences of one's actions is part of being a mature adult.

@andreah6379 I never stopped masking. There's always been a good reason not to every time I considered it and it's just easier to keep using one than to keep up with all the transmission rates of what's going around and decide whether that counts as "safe" enough to go without.

Right vs left are entirely useful terms when we're using the correct definitions which is hierarchy and consolidation of power vs egalitarianism and distribution of power. People misusing useful terms doesn't mean we abandon them.

@christyann1201 no disagreement on the 2nd point, but we need to be clear that Dems see US as their main political opposition, not Republicans. They have never been on our side in this struggle and have actively chosen to prioritize stopping anything remotely left of center over stopping the far right. This future that we're suffering is the result of deliberate choices they have been repeatedly making.
