@alcosound Remember for the middle of the last century when almost everybody had own military industry...No we are in the hand of the USA. They could even control when and who we could engage, nog just controlling spare parts. Even Nasams is a joke if it could be turned to brick by the USA.

@alcosound And no stealth, no proper attack helicopters, no satellite coverage, no proper awacs, barely nothing. Some IFVs and MBTs, that is all we have. Not mentioning how pathetically german ifvs performed on a practice...it was a scandal..

@hosermcmoose Actually big countries without threaths needs only huge patrol time, low cost and some armament to take care of airliner problems if any comes up. So Gripen has no use there, nor the F-35 where you pay for stealth...

@oglordbrandon Yep and here is the problem, we have a paradox here. Europe is safe from any wars. Politicians knew it, new politicians should know it. Actually we only need to protect borders against immigration. So there is no sense in military spending. On the other hand we support acts of the US what makes us enemy in the eyes of others with a reason. But tell me, if EU countries really think that Russia is a real threat why they do not increase manufacturing?

@viktorsundberg3101 No way. I was pro-EU, but after the last 15 years I rather vote my country out of EU than trust in Ursulas or Annalena BrainBlocks with anything affects my country.

@goshky EU economy was bigger than US economy for several years. But with US forcing cutting ties between Europe and Russia that will never happen again.

@TehJumpingJawa Your approach is shortsighted. Trump does not make calls, he is a talking head like everyone in the WH. And the end will be as always: keeping US hegemony. But even powers behind the curtain cannot stop multipolar world which is a necessity.

Only PPP makes sense, but Russia in PPP is far stronger than Europe. European made miltech is typically overpriced like hell while remains inferior and inrcedebly huge amount of European stuff relies on US tech in manufacturing. Like Gripen as an example.
