I was taught that as well. It was supported by the Founders and was why they wanted an education system. The Founders understood because we're a country of immigrants we needed a solid unified foundation of ideas to bind us together.

The SPLC has said they don't track leftwing violence and neither does the ADL. The statics reminds me of that leftwing meme that went around years ago listing "Christian" terrorist attacks in an attempt to somehow prove Christians do it just like Muslims did. Only 1 would fall under religious motivation. They put the Oklahoma City bombing because McVeigh was raised Catholic yet he said repeatedly he was atheist or agnostic at best and only worshipped science. It also had a guy who just drove his car into the tax office because he was being taken to the cleaners by the IRS.
7
@ratherbwithhorses That's odd because every job my sons have applied for that has lifting requirements they're tested by an outside physician or healthcare facility to make sure they can. Those requirements are to protect the company from injury lawsuits.
7
@Sunflower-nx5en Nope. My idiot son voted for Biden and it was first President to vote for. His girlfriend's grandfather got in his head. I'm printing all of it out and presenting every bad thing like this and tell him "this is what you voted for". It's the only way he'll learn that his choices has consequences for other people.
7
@ralphsims6997 So when DeSantis doesn't run, as he's said repeatedly he's not, what are you going to do?
7
@wiretamer5710 If it was, the founders wouldn't have put it in the Constitution. So exercising your Constitutional rights is a tool of the wicked? That's an odd thing to say. Edit: What most fail to understand about the 5th is, once you invoke it, you have to continue to for the entire questioning. So if they continue to ask you 400 questions after you invoke it, you'll say it 400 times.
7
@fedimusmaximus2454 Do you think it requires a professor to lecture you to learn? There's these things called public libraries that have existed for a long time. You can check out books on various topics for free to read and learn. School used to be about teaching you how to use such resources to learn rather than spoon feeding you information and thinking for you. It's possible to be both.
7
This isn't even a Cold War 80s mindset. Sure we all dreamed of being a Wolverine, but that was a Russian invasion in the US. We understood, and still do, better than most the dangers of US troops meeting Russian troops on the battlefield head to head. Not only the nuclear risk, but just the moral boost that would give Russian troops. You would turn a situation where many aren't as gung ho about being there into a determined force. Unfortunately Biden just gave them one with this hot take. Not as much as troops on the ground would, but certainly he's helped steel the nerves of them.
7
@strongandco He did. He came with an original amount. They sent that, he said not good enough, they said we'll come back with another offer, ghosted him for 3 months, then said that's the best we can do which Jeremy admitted in the video wasn't true and they always knew he'd cost more.
7
@CyberChud2077 It was done by Fox. Disney acquired it when it purchased Fox and shelved the movie. Had Disney released it, it would have been one of their most profitable films this year which is hilarious.
7
@Bullfrog No they aren't. The caste system in India is considered a form of slavery. If you're born into the lower caste, you stay there. You are only allowed a certain level of education and to perform certain jobs. That's not true in the majority of social systems.
7
They said they were going to name it something else. They got rid of her, but not the guys over her that wrote it. One of them also wrote the Patriot Act. They said they were going to go back to the board and put it under another government agency.
7
It wouldn't be a few thousand by the time they were done. They'd add penalties and interest so your $2,000 owed quickly grows to tens of thousands or more.
7
I thought this was going to be about the species we thought were extinct that we recently found or the bird that went extinct and then re-evolved back. Edit: Dinosaurs laid eggs so it wouldn't need a womb. They weren't mammals. They wouldn't survive today because there's not a large enough food source. They were that big because everything else was also.
7
They should be prosecuted if there's anyway to do so. Acting like this being leaked is no big deal is terrifying. If every decision is going to be leaked during the discussion phase, then it's going to directly impact that discussion and drastically politicize the one branch that's supposed to be the least political. While I do celebrate the overturning of the one glaring example of the court legislating, this leak is troubling for law in the future. We've already got a law class from Stanford banned from clerking because they don't support free speech and now this proves previous graduates have been radicalized politically and are already clerking and even practicing. Once this group reaches higher levels the future of law looks bleak.
7
The US allows in 1 million legal immigrants yearly. It's estimated about 8 million illegally entered last year. That's on top of the 1 million. That makes it 9 million roughly annually. You're entire population every two years.
7
@settame1 It wasn't a marketing ploy. Streamers were terrified to play the game and anyone see it for fear of being banned or losing their audience. Striking fear in people who freely promote your product isn't a marketing ploy.
7
It's a real case. I went over it in my other comment. Yes it was real and she was convicted of murder. As she should have been.
7
I've got to say Ted has been surprising me. Like Styx I think he sees the way the wind is blowing, but still good on him.
7
Or you can let it die as an example to newer providers. This idea that because a company finally runs out of money and miraculously decides they were wrong so they suddenly deserve my support is BS. They hired these people, they allowed the culture in their company to fester, they allowed their creators and staff to attack fans, etc. It's the person that suddenly finds God on their death bed. Not because they really believe, but because they are afraid. Let them die. Edit: If their side really invested or spent money on these companies, they wouldn't be going broke. You're wrong in everything you said. Look at comic book sales that court this group. They don't buy this crap either.
7
Most don't know it's done by court decisions. During Obama, the courts ruled you can't house children with adults. Thus the cages were born. You are correct about the litmus. I saw it during 2014-15. There were all these articles on how Trump was going to be on the illegals. I'd point out the conditions they were currently in and every single one of them didn't care and just said it will be worse under Trump. It wasn't, but I bet they believe it was.
7
@BH-qs7vo How is it an "industrial complex"? It's not privately owned or contracted out.
7
When did he say to buy it? At no point did he say or even insinuate that. There's a difference in saying being upset about something is stupid and telling you to buy said thing.
7
Ahh that must be why I've seen all the news agencies running headlines that he's crazy. I was wondering what got them in such a tizzy.
7
That's funny. I remember when the DoJ was weighing if they were going to charge Hillary.
7
@shortyorc121 California primarily does mail in voting and everything that goes along with it like ballot harvesting. It's been proven it's the easiest to rig and why most countries avoid it or only try it on a mass scale once.
7
@Giantsfanlewis I find them trying to take over my spaces offensive and trying to claim they are real women. I don't give a crap how someone dresses, I'm just not naive enough to realize bad people will take advantage of things and not every person that's dressed like a woman is trans or harmless.
7
What exactly has the Trump side done to "not let this go"? Not let what go? That the Federal government is corrupt and been weaponized against its political opponents? I don't think that's something that should be "let go". Making extremely generalized statements sounds good, but it falls apart on scrutiny.
7
He didn't lose them. Yes the House voted to not do it, but it had already passed the house and Senate. The Senate isn't going to pass the new one so they're not going anywhere.
7
@brianmccain8818 I don't agree with that. The school already got paid so what are they going to lose? That's who issued the degree, not the government. I like the UKs system. If you haven't found a job that pays a livable wage within a certain amount of time within your field of study, the loan is written off and it comes out of the college that gave you the worthless degree. That would lower the prices and get rid of a lot of these degrees that don't have a job market. The colleges are reaping the benefits of the current loan system making money hand over fist. They should be responsible for the outcome of the education they gave you.
7
Agree. This is going to be a test of wills. If Musk turns the platform into the be all, end all of platforms, the advertisers will come back because that's where the people are.
7
Well first, they aren't steamed. They're quickly heated on the oven top over a flame if it's a gas stove for tacos. Secondly, trying to claim everything in a tortilla is really just called a taco is just as ignorant as you're attempting to make others seem. There's enchiladas, quesadillas, taquitos, chalupa, quesabirria, entomadatas, etc. All wrapped in different types of tortillas. Burritos are Tex-mex. Traditional tacos are made from beef stomachs and tongue. Edit: Also dishes wrapped in tortillas are from different regions in central and south America. It's not all Mexican. Burritos are different than tacos because they feature refried beans, which are not in tacos (traditional or otherwise). He looked at you like you're crazy because you sounded like it. It's like asking why they call them tacos instead of enchiladas.
7
My husband works in the oil industry. The diesel "shortage" is because we're shipping a lot more of it outside the US. Driving the price up because there's less domestic product. Like everything else, it's a manufactured crisis. As for having to cut back, we're in the top 10% and are having to cut back. Luckily I'm used to being poor so I'll easily navigate through this. It is disappointing to finally reach this level only to not live much differently.
7
Didn't he also send delegates to talk about shifting trade from China back to Taiwan? The difference is in one instance you have a strong leader and the other a weak one.
6
They aren't banned. You can still purchase them from anywhere you want. Communities vote in local school boards based on certain standards they want upheld in their community. If you don't like those choices, don't send your children to school there. If you don't live there, it's none of your concern. School libraries are so children have access to materials needed to complete course work. That's their purpose. If a book isn't required for that, it's not needed in the limited space of the school library. I'm not sure where this idea has come from that school libraries should have every book ever published for an age range or should contain self help books that serve no function in a school setting . Edit: The reason it's a "talking point" for Democrats is because they want to increase federal power by stripping away power from local and state governments. It has absolutely nothing to do with books and even engaging as if it's about books is a losing argument.
6
@wesscotchdog9078 Same. Graduated in 90. I learned all the womanly skills. Sewing, quilting, cooking, etc. We were poor so we grew and killed our own food. So add in food preservation like canning. My grandfather taught us all basic survival skills so hunting, fishing, foraging, farming. Being rural helped too. City kids didn't learn that stuff back then either.
6
@fungdark8270 Absolutely not. The tips should not be everyone's. The tip is for the service that waiter/waitress provided. It's not for the lazy one that didn't earn any. I've been to places that do that. I will ask before I give a tip if it's someplace new or when traveling. If it is, I give a small one on the card and give a cash tip to my server. Making abundantly clear that it's for them. Wait staff makes less than the rest of the staff, even though they are the face of the restaurant. Bad service will kill an experience no matter how great the cooking staff is. They also can make bad cooks better because if your service is excellent, you're more likely to overlook a meh meal. They deserve the tip.
6
@terywetherlow7970 Yes nuclear sites have to be near large amounts of water because the water is needed to convert to steam for power. Every major power source is close to water for the same reason. Natural gas heats the water, creating steam, the steam turns the turbines which generates electricity.
6
@Muse22sims Obama did a study looking into universal pre-K. By the 3rd grade, everyone leveled back out. It didn't help the children get ahead or be more educated in the long run. That's because of how children's brains develop. They simply can't comprehend certain things until a certain age. To put it bluntly, it's nothing but a waste of taxpayer dollars that won't benefit the taxpayers at all. Most elderly already qualify for Medicaid on top of Medicare. Expanded Medicaid from the ACA already covers those things. The ones that already don't get it are the ones that saved for their retirement instead of depending only on social security. The people that saved close to a million to finish out their life. The ones you call "rich" because you don't understand that money has to last them for 20+ years. Drugs were already cheaper, but Biden repelled Trump's EO that did that. It allowed Medicare to negotiate prices and allowed citizens and pharmacies to purchase medications from other countries. Now they care about that?
6
My son was uh oh. They done messed with the children.
6
@markabrahams2191 Geologists agree that all this is overblown fear mongering. Most climate scientists also don't like that the most extreme model is being used as fact by politicans. Less than 1% believe that's what's going to happen. Don't point that out though or you're an evil science denier. I do appreciate that more of them have started speaking out against headlines like "Hurricane caused by climate change" or "Climate change is causing an increase in natural disasters" when the truth is they've been reducing in number.
6
That's because educated doesn't mean intelligent or smart. I have found self educated people tend to be much smarter than the majority that graduate college. It's because they seek the information on their own which requires much more critical thinking than having it spoon feed to you. I have a degree, but most of what I know wasn't learned in a classroom.
6
I'm glad I just purchased solar panels for my roof for sure now (made in Texas not China). As someone in the 6 figure and up income bracket, we're getting hit the worst right now. We don't have the extra money to buy EVs. So I honestly have no idea who this is aimed at except the top 3% maybe. Not that I'd ever buy one anyway since we're kinda rural. I keep trying to picture a Tesla driving down a dirt road and it makes me laugh. 100 degree weather, snow and ice in winter is not a good climate for EVs. Edit: We went solar because this state imports a lot of it's energy which makes it cost a lot more. We're in a smaller home by 800 square feet and our electric bill is double what it was in my previous state because that state produces excess energy.
6
Unfortunately a 4.0 isn't high enough anymore due to advanced courses being offered in high school now. My son graduated with a 4.2 and was 3rd in his class.
6
@nonyadamnbusiness9887 You can't feed your family on government promises. You'll get reimbursed at the speed of government which everyone knows works at a snail's pace. Anyone that's ever had to deal with getting any type of disaster relief knows that. So yes, getting what's left of your last paycheck out is a good idea.
6
I was raised that you don't talk politics or religion in polite company. Those two subjects always cause disagreements so it's best to just avoid them.
6
No it's those evil guns. They have run amok and are committing crime.
6
@sarahg2653 Netanyahu wasn't in power then. They gave money to both political parties. More to the PLO. Just like companies donate to both. They didn't create them because they already were a political party in the West Bank. It's a common practice in hope that whichever party gets elected they'll feel slightly indebted to you. Stop acting like it's something sinister and isn't a common practice all over the world. They did not know that Hamas would become the more violent. Since both parties run on the elimination of them from "ocean to the sea" (which means globally), there was no way to know that.
6
@GLOW_IN_THE_DARK_CIA_NIBBAS He was a leftists so he would also still be the baddie.
6
So was Trump. So you think anyone not a politician shouldn't win anything? Very odd stance.
