  2. A lot of the oil production in the USA is on federally owned property, including offshore oil production. The President can shut down oil production on federal land. It is within his power and courts can't stop it. This is how Trump was able to make us energy independent. The USA has huge amounts of oil. It is only government bureaucracy that prevents it from flowing freely. Pipelines that cross state borders fall under the commerce clause of the US Constitution and can be controlled by the federal government. One of the reasons that Texas will not buy, or sell, electrical power across state lines is to prevent federal control of ALL it's electrical generation and distribution.

She was given the "news" to read on air and was expected to read exactly what was given to her, and to use proper Russian pronunciation. There WAS (used to be) a "tradition" of allowing the Senators from states affected by the Circuit to "approve" the nominees...which is WHY the 9th Circuit is so leftist. That is NOT a law, it is NOT a constitutional requirement and it has been set aside by Mitch McConnell after Al Franken tried to block an 8th circuit nominee.   43. The solution to this is for the government to GET OUT of student loans entirely and allow/require the colleges and universities to offer/underwrite the loans. The educational institutions should provide financing to access their own product, the way auto manufacturers do...AND make a profit from the interest on the money THEY risk. If the educational institutions want to take the risk of $100,000+ loans to unemployed 18 year olds, let them. Leave the taxpayers OUT.
