29
Draft dodger Donald meets a real hero and can't stand it
20
Economic growth is just people buying stuff they don't need
14
@MrAlb3rtazzo good, asset management doesn't produce, manufacture, or contribute anything that society needs. Pure Greed at the expense of others is obnoxious
8
And QE didn't benefit the population at all. BUT austerity was forced on us as a result. Banks received welfare from the state , WE received cuts to services.
8
Spot on. Canute set out to prove that he was not all powerful and demonstrated it by showing he could not hold back the tides. 👍
7
Apparently against the country who have failed miserably to invade Ukraine, the country actually in its border ! We should spend LESS.
6
@akastewart Great! So let's pay everyone massive wages , big corporations can afford it, so we can contribute more tax , . Let's not rely on the greedy 1% any more, they can fuck off while the rest of us who actually work contribute to the economy and our Country.
5
@fylbike the creation of money by banks and how the system works completely different to household budgets needs to be taught in schools

Some on here believe its essential for the economy that we have billionaires avoiding the tax the rest of us pay , and who hide their wealth away from the country they extracted it from!!
4
@tancreddehauteville764 "wokeness" doesn't affect the economy, the corporate capture of power, the undemocratic influence of lobbyists. "When the public are apathetic and easily diverted , the wealthy can do as they please" Noam Chomsky
4
Or for subsidies to wealthy Corporations and to private companies
4
@DamienRowatt no. Printing money was NOT the cause of the Weimar republic runaway inflation. It's an interesting topic explained on various YouTube channels. We know it doesn't cause inflation because we printed billions in 2008 and COVID
4
So where's all the extra money the Brexteers promised us now we have left the EU ?
3
Everything sucks , and we've already made it worse for pensioners and we've promised you ,"pain" in the budget. Now, where's my freebie suit, glasses, and football tickets?
3
@davideyres955 austerity wasn't imposed because we were spending too much. It was imposed because we gave billions to the failed financial sector.
3
@grolfe3210 66% of voters did NOT vote for this Government. It's not a minority view from Richard,. it's a majority opinion
3
Kier has to wait for the likes of BlackRock, the Banks, Hedge funds etc etc to tell him what they want him to do first. Then he can tell us what he is allowed to do
3
Benefits get spent in the local economy, some of which returns to the government in taxes, and the rest goes into the economy, it's a benefit that benefits everyone. And it doesn't disappear offshore either.

😂

I grew up in the 60s when income tax was 33,%. There were real jobs, no zero hours, tons of apprentice jobs, free Universities. We've gone backwards
2
Everything has been sold off and is owned by foreigners.
2
@Tensquaremetreworkshop where's all this civil service poor performances you keep on about ?
2
Russia's awful attempt against Ukraine means we actually can spend LESS on defence. Russia isn't a threat to us.
2
@chanceriordan the rich don't even pay the rate of tax the rest of us do.
2
There used to be apprenticeships in every industry. The London Electricity Board employed, payed, and trained people to become permanent workers to perform tasks such as overhead line repairs amongst a multitude of other skills
2
@MangoGreatesthow about being number one in healthcare, education, good jobs, pensions etc etc
2
We used to be number 1 with a massive Empire. Didn't benefit the ordinary person at all . Just the wealthy
2
Young people can go anywhere in Europe. Why do you think they can't travel anywhere? You can leave too if it's too intolerable for you
2
@OneAndOnlyMe what does " making the system more efficient" actually mean and how is it achieved ? Remember Labour had £4 million donation from a tax dodging hedge fund just before the election, their policies will have to be of benefit to wealthy investors.
2
@edbop The BoE actually have a video on their YouTube channel called " The creation of money " It actually explains that it really is created via a keyboard terminal. It should be required viewing in every school?
2
The government went to the IMF, not the Bank
2
@ProgressiveEconomicsSupporter The Government went to the IMF because of the currency crisis. The IMF loan was to stabilise the pound .
2
@craigtildesley1501 hi, thanks for your explanation. The about imports/exports, I know it's better to export more than you import, but that's actually impossible to achieve for everyone because for every surplus trading there has to be deficit trading ? Or have I misunderstood this ? Thanks for any info 👍
2
It'll never happen when all dissent begins and ends on the YouTube comments section.
2
Excellent video Richard. Thank you
2
The value of gold used to be decided twice a day by people from Bank of England and the Rothschild's at their house inThreadneedle street u until the 197Os
2
😂
2
Use the billions we saved from BREXIT. Btw, where IS sll that extra money that we were promised?
2
We all used to be free of taxes at one time. When we lived in caves .
2
Trump wanted to swear on his book " art of the deal" instead of the Bible when he took his oath of office last time round..
2
Absolutely spot on explanation. 👍 @martytrain
2
@RichardJMurphy Richard, please make a video to counter the meek acceptance that the " black hole" needs to be filled by first pensioners and then the rest of us. Enjoy your channel immensely.
2
Why should it be the business of the state to interfere in farming and agriculture and give subsidies for every acre of farming land and diesel subsidies too ?
2
@JGS2295 what risk ? The taxpayer will have to pay and suffer austerity if banks fail because of their risks. Plus banks are all engaged in the Financial Casino, buying derivatives, gambling basically.
2
@clementattlee6984 I agree. But I didn't vote for Brexit which killed our ability to travel freely around Europe.
2
Unfortunately this country is in thrall to the wealthy. Its either the Tories or a Labour version of the Tories.. We've got a party who promised to follow Tory fiscal spending..
2
But the recipient of that gold will have to change it into cash in order to spend it .
