@bocchithean-cap3404 And for the language. It’s more the Iranian government forcing the Persian language
1
Well the US also staved off fertility crisis for a while by importing lots of immigrants from high fertility countries. China and South Korea did not
1
Kazakhstan and Russia are allies unlike Ukraine
1
Meanwhile you can see stats based on where mother is from and in France, TFR for non-EU immigrants is around 2.95. For African immigrants, it’s most likely more than 3, as that figure is likely pulled down by immigrants from Asia and non-EU parts of Europe
1
London and Paris have higher fertility rate than national average because in UK and France, they are where the high birth rate African immigrants are concentrated. In countries without this confounding factor, they almost universally have lower fertility rate than national average. It’s also shown in terms of fertility by area specifically and in UK and France, lowest is in the predominantly white areas of London and Paris
1
UAE, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have their average fertility rates pulled down by migrants from lower fertility countries
1
But on the other hand, American home sizes are larger and fertility rates are higher than Europe and East Asia
1
@jirislavicek9954 ep, to replenish the Jewish population lost in Holocaust. Also Israel is surrounded by enemies on all sides thus the need to have a lot of kids so there would be a lot of young people available to build a big military in order to defend the country
1
Low birth rate ethnic Russians left and turning back to Islam after state atheism ended
1
@TamagoSando rthermore, Hong Kong literally has the tiniest living spaces which discourages having kids. Most apartments there barely have room for a couple let alone a family. In fact larger living spaces likely play significant role why countries like US and Australia, though still below replacement at least are doing better than East Asia and Europe, birth rate wise
1
Especially when it’s sandwiched between low fertility countries of China and Russia
1
@Hasanaljadid Also the Bengali government heavily promoted birth control, unlike Pakistan
1
Israel is the exception
1
Not to mention stressful education(preparing for Gaokao) and work culture(996 work schedules) there, all of which drives down births
1
No, culture is too different. Also Brazil has low birth rates too
1
If only North Dakota had fertility as high
1
Not to mention American culture, due to it being a young country of immigrants from everywhere is fluid rather than rigid
1
Or go to a third world country where women there gravitate towards anyone who’s a citizen of a developed country
1
A lot of it is due to a lot of low fertility ethnic Russians moving to Russia after USSR collapse
1
@Freedmoon44 France has fertility advantage of massive percentage of immigrants coming from very high fertility country of Africa. Fertility rate for non-EU immigrants in France is almost 3 right now, and almost 4 not so long ago
1
@juan-ko5hz Just that they’ll be much smaller in population and be filled with old people
