  1. An adult son was convicted of murdering his parents in my state, and it turned out that a motorcycle gang that was dealing drugs were the perpetrators. This man was on death row for a number of months. He was the one who found his parents dead. The three were farmers on their small farm together. His brothers and sisters all told the police he was innocent, and hired a private attorney. He was still wrongly convicted.

  12. Police are allowed to lie to you, short of explicitly promising a particular legal outcome in exchange for a confession. But the Good Cop Bad Cop game, calling interrogation "therapy," invoking God, etc., all is permitted. I wish people knew. :/

  13. Her ten-year prison sentence was supposed to be followed by four years in a mental hospital (which could have included various privileges introduced step by step), followed by four more years under court supervised release. This sentence would have taken her to age 30. Why wasn't that done?

  14. I agree that no one should judge her. The facts concerning what she did that night are facts she provided to law enforcement voluntarily, to help them establish probable cause for Kohberger's arrest. I disagree with normalizing not calling 911. We can suspend judgment about her, without saying it's "understandable" that a person would fail to call 911. You are supposed to call 911. This crime has to be thoroughly investigated. It's tragic for the other roommates, but they have to be investigated. She can decline to be questioned further if this is bad for her mental health, but if a court subpoenas her, she will need to testify.

A person on anti-psychotic medication is no more likely than anyone else to commit any crime. A person with a criminal history and mental health symptoms is more likely to be medicated, especially in prison.

He had to pay his lawyers from that recovery, and contingency fees are generally 30 to 40%. Now consider how much he would have made over 24 years, and saved for retirement, and paid into Social Security; that he would have paid off his home, and what it would be worth in Austin, Texas, now. Two million dollars doesn't cover all that. How did they come up with the number? Just enough to make sure he does not end up homeless in retirement. Sounds like that's what they did. A final insult!

  22. Noise pollution (including from insects) is very real. Have sleep deprivation last long enough, especially in a stressful environment separated from friends and family, and you will have all kinds of serious cognitive symptoms. The explanations you grab for might become hysterical, but the problem itself has zero to do with mass hysteria. Sleep deprivation is used in torture because it will eventually break everyone.

If one person is in distress due to an accident, the other would immediately call paramedics and begin resuscitation --- if it was an accident. But a diabolical killer might do that to make a murder look like an accident. Maybe Dr. Grande is right. Forget the choking part.

  37.  @Rokaize  Absolutely ridiculous. Looking for nearest well-lit area to pull over is both legal and prudent, and a well-known as something motorists have a right to do. Once Nazario pulled over IN the closest well-lit area, it should have been obvious to any rational officer that drawing a gun was not the proper response. Moreover, taking out a cell phone while still operating the vehicle as you claim he should have done is, in fact, illegal, and cell phones have been repeatedly mistaken for weapons by irrational police. People (plural) taking out their cell phone have died in a hail of bullets. The initial stop had to do with an allegedly missing license plate. In a well-lit area, the presence of the temporary plate was more visible. There was no inherent danger to anyone except Nazario. Moreover, Nazario did not speed. So much for your theory.

  39.  @LordMephilis  If you are on private property to defend that property, and it is not your own property, and you are armed, you are supposed to be a licensed security guard, and you are not supposed to leave that property unless there is some clear necessity for you to do so. At least that's the law in most states, including Illinois. I have no idea WHAT they allow in Wisconsin.

Very bad guessing, but in line with the false flag narrative you are apparently pushing. You seem to want people to refuse to be vaccinated for extraneous reasons, having nothing to do with a rational cost-benefit analysis, and certainly nothing to do with their health. You insult them, repeatedly, hoping that will make them mad enough not to be vaccinated. Or maybe it's simpler. You had the vaccine, you didn't really want it, now you have second thoughts, so of course you want everyone else to be in the same position as you are. That's common, too. The simplest explanation is usually the best.

These are not Disney stories, and the children are not "raised by," but alongside of, wolves or other animals. It's not heartwarming, it's horrifying. A few escaped slavery or indentured servitude, or a parent who was so alcoholic they failed to care for them. Some never had normal speech. I don't think a single one adjusted to urban society or got married.

  45. The police encounter was on August 12. Brian was back in Florida August 17 -- 23, and on the 23rd he returned to Utah and rejoined Gabby. That is a pretty long cooling-off period. It was also an opportunity for Gabby to confide in someone, and to get away. Who doesn't talk? Everyone tells someone. . . . People want "answers" rather than the right answers.

  46. @Jerbert-qn4in  No there isn't. Both of my grandfathers were self-made millionaires in a country where that was a remarkable feat. They lost everything in WWII. No one has done well since, no matter how hard they worked, how resourceful they were, or how strong their characters and physical health. Even if there were genes that influence wealth -- and I think that's laughable, unless it be the same ones as those that produce narcissism -- you can't assume they exist in a given case.
