I get the same impression.

When it's in response to a cancer diagnosis, RUN.
13
@victorgl9709 Exactly, he deserved more for profound pain and suffering for a quarter of a century, knowing all the while his wife was murdered the day after his birthday, their was child alone, and he was railroaded. My point is that it is paltry as "unemployment compensation." It doesn't even make up for the money, much less everything else. Peanuts!
13
@jaymike987 Where do you get your information?
13
It is for kids too young to get married.
13
@marciabradley7660 Purveyors of positivity are hiding extreme viciousness. Who could possibly believe pediatric cancer is a result of "attracting negativity?" Or some sort of personal failure? (Did the mother fail? Did the father?) Were the people who died on 9/11 all on a negative trip? And our troops who died in Afghanistan and Iraq? If only they had read The Secret, they'd all still be around, attracting abundance.
13
Another concern: isn't what Tolle described as an epiphany at times a possible symptom of impending psychotic break?
13
I feel for us. They run our show, too.
12
Don't worry, you can.
12
A friend or delivery person texts or calls. Always. I can't think of an exception in this century. You're not being too cautious in refusing to open the door.
12
It certainly seems to be, but probable cause is not the same thing as guilt beyond reasonable doubt. That's why all evidence has to be tested in court.
12
@mellie4174 She also might have been involved, but to press the story that she herself did it seems to be incoherent. If they cannot figure out the nature of her possible involvement, and prove it to a jury, our system is supposed to let her go. It's not supposed to try to get her to plead, after denying her a fair trial already. (BTW, getting a defendant to plead is often done to prevent a civil rights suit for damages.)
12
And she is a nurse? That's worse than dumb.
12
Once a cause and manner of death is established, we'll have a basis for speculating.
11
The cops did the job they were hired to do: they protected the insurance companies.
11
@LordMephilis The gun charged was dropped because it was confusing. The rule of lenity, like the rule of presumption of innocence, should apply to any unclear law. That is fair. The people (adults) who gave him the gun are being charged anyway. We'll see what happens to them.
11
@jackdispennett744 I don't understand why people don't know this. It is a perfect statement of a VERY clear legal principle.
11
@reven-docta79 The left? Please. How many faculty have been fired or denied tenure for supporting the Palestinian cause? That is routine, and has been for a generation. How did Chris Hedges lose his job? He was heckled at a right-wing campus for his principled opposition to the war in Iraq, and the NYTimes took the side of the hecklers. Phil Donohue was similarly silenced. For at least 30 years, the most common college major by far is Business. Without the math and accounting needed to pass the CPA, or to have a chance at passing the first part of the CFA exam, that degree is mostly ideological talking points. College campuses have been primarily vocational for a long time, which in this society is synonymous with anti-intellectual. Don't let the countercultural cosplay currently in vogue fool you.
11
@You are correct But You'd know the person needs extensive therapy.
11
@chodysseus420 Because right now we have no evidence that the two surviving roommates had any involvement at all, and the facts in the affidavit are facts D. M. voluntarily gave to police to assist them. Why is it so hard to suspend judgment? I don't believe in blaming anyone, OR normalizing the failure to call 911. We don't know what happened this time, and every individual deserves the benefit of the doubt.
11
@Suteruni He is rich. Hence the state board looks the other way.
11
The number of people Elizabeth confessed to and did nothing tells you everything.
11
@Rokaize A licensed, insured driver has a right to drive. If the officers are not morons, they can figure out what you are doing by pulling over in the first available well-lit location. Granted, officers are often morons, and goons. Point taken.
11
@Rokaize I am an attorney. We will see how this civil rights case turns out. Only a court can revoke your driver's license. A police officer cannot. Any license can be revoked. A badge can also be removed from a police officer -- he can be fired. A police board may need to be consulted, but a court need not be involved. It is ordinary for drivers to proceed to a well-lit area to pull over. Police are impersonated more often than you are obviously aware, and police should know citizens have a right to protect themselves against such a crime. If you are an officer, I suggest you inquire about added training or community college classes.
11
@MrVarhansen If you are concerned that her conduct could harm your career or interfere with other friendships in a serious way, have a lawyer write her a letter. When people realize that there is a real world out there, separate from their obsessions, and that their behavior could cost them serious money, they stop. She is counting on other people not being involved and her story being just as believable as yours, or moreso. She thinks she has free rein, and that you have to be cautious. That's why she does this.
10
@stevenkelby2169 Forcibly vaccinated with a non-FDA approved vaccine? Wow. What happened to cause you to think like this? It's not even legal.
10
Jeff Hook This is not true. Morever, Emma ws a MINOR. Under the law she is a child, not a woman. Seek counseling.
10
@kaym.2854 Their lack of compassion for the elderly and infirm is complete. They would treat a cocker spaniel better.
10
@thekurtcobainfoundation4200 Take the sage advice of other posts! Fire is horrible, and a horrible sign. The rest of your post sounds like he might have a madonna/whore complex. Those men often turn on a woman after they become intimate, and then they become dangerous. Or, they will sleep with their future wives only to have children, and frequent prostitutes the rest of the time. Very, very bad. Sometimes these people go on to murder prostitutes. The point is, the fact that he sees you as too pure to ask you to do these other things now does NOT mean he respects you as a human being. He puts you on a pedestal to satisfy his needs.
10
The UK and Israeli media, countries where there is much less hesitancy than here, have been more honest about issues with the vaccines, not less.
10
@traceynomatterwhat383 Anyone who would tell a painter or pianist or violinist, etc., to break a board is vicious. Anyone who would tell anyone to do that is vicious, but telling artists and musicians is so obviously vicious that it should unequivocally scream "charlatan!!" to everyone's ears.
10
I thought it was pretty bad. Devoid of nuance, cookie cutter, and above all designed to soothe listeners who are easily upset. I think we all know by now why so much hysteria is swirling around this case, and it is not all because "Brian's parents!!!" There are other reasons as well.
10
There are a lot of jerks out there. It isn't you. Find an art.
10
@Rokaize Nazario wasn't a violator. The police were.
10
@loralieisa This is false. Trump was NOT treated with hydroxychloroquine after contracting COVID.
10
@Logan800 Oh yeah? Not a blond Aryan-type against a very brunette, very ethnic male? She knew how to use what she had in her "favor," and how to target people. A lot of manipulators do, regardless of sex, race, color, creed, etc.
9
If they fit, first congratulate yourself. Next, go on vacation as soon as we can travel again and enjoy them.
9
@cht2162 I'm so sorry.
9
I'm surprised you didn't know how ordinary this is.
9
@darkdemonqueen When I was a kid, divorced women would never marry a man who did not agree to adopt the children and raise them, nor did they date casually, much less allow a man to live with them unmarried. Even engaged didn't cut it. How times have changed. What you said may not be popular, but it's usually right.
9
@jamescook6564 The "truth" is there is no such thing as mental illness, there are only a lot of stupid jerks who need public humiliation to set them straight? I can see how some people would come to that conclusion. They could, for example, start with themselves . . .

Meghan is the only child of an only child. Neither her nor her mother had full siblings. That's why her mother was her only guest. Her mother was her only relative, before Harry and Archie.
9
@kellyfelly6645 See the Bill Clutter analysis of this case. He thinks Christopher is innocent. He could be wrong. This is a tough one.
9
@blondiek35 I'm so sorry. I have faith in you getting better because of how you expressed yourself. Was there a time when you couldn't have written what you just wrote, or made a decision about how to relate to your mother? I'm thinking that being able to say what happened and make decisions about your future is a huge improvement already.
9
Too bad his commentary was politicized as well.
9
@Rokaize It was roughly a mile, well under two minutes, and with Nazario having slowed down and activated his turn signal, showing the officer his intent to pull over as soon as it was safe. These scared rabbits could end up killing a grandma. They need to find another line of work.
9
@DunderHead.5000 So sorry.
9
@shadowwolf7622 Not the kind of stuff this woman is spouting.
9
So, if your kid did that, you can't think of what to do about it other than call the cops, risk ruining their whole life, and place them under house arrest, or cheer them on for their entrepreneurial spirit? Huh. I could think of other stuff.
