  43. @brian782  On programs where the focus isn't on personalities and their supposed rectitude or lack thereof, and where Finkelstein is given ample opportunity to speak, he makes his case step by step. What's most remarkable is that he has marshaled a comprehensive collection of direct quotes from Israeli heads of state and from very mainstream human rights organizations to make his case. He has demonstrated that you do not need to consult a single Palestinian activist to make a case. That is astonishing. I disagree with Finkelstein on October 7. I've also come to realize how profoundly pro-Israel my biases have been, because I never expected Israel to do what it is clearly doing. I'm still having trouble. Could they really be engaged in genocide? Is it possible? Even Naomi Wolf has stated that their current actions meet the legal definition. (Not Klein. Wolf.) I'm still waiting to wake up and hear it didn't happen. I didn't know I was biased. And I'm not Jewish, though there is more to the story. (Some Jewish ancestry in parents' paternal lines, which mattered when WWII started --- though compared to others, they had it easy.)
