@Penny-em2cs The real irony is that he was apparently a very good psychotherapist (his advice to people having issues in their workplace is perfect), and that that's the license he has to defend! Wow. The one thing he could do . . . smh. As for the modern workplace, he says that you must identify whether your performance is deficient, or whether your coworkers are bent on undermining anyone who works hard, and that you have to be brutally honest with yourself about which it is and then act on it, post haste. 100% right. Take it from a lawyer who has seen these cases.

@daysjours There are certain "hot button" topics that can now ruin a career, and very few people have the sheer courage to address them. People simply shy away. Glenn was just on Briahna Joy Gray's podcast discussing trans people, and the fact that the label "transphobic" can now destroy a person. (Excellent podcast -- Briahna was outstanding.) It may not be obvious but showing that TicTok of a transwoman taking notes on pronoun errors to save for later use was very brave.

I'm curious whether in fact an attack on the Donbass region from right-wing Ukrainian forces was imminent. I don't believe the Russian response was anywhere near proportionate, much less justified. But the real point is, we should WANT to suspend judgment until we know. Why should anyone WANT to dehumanize any victims? Trick question, no one should. Ever. We've had DNA forensics for decades -- since the last century -- and we STILL have innocent people on death row. What does it take?
5
I didn't know he was straight until it was specified.
5
@matthall2425 People who suffer from feeling distraught over their bodies and their young love lives have said they felt pressured to define themselves as trans, rather than to allow themselves the time and space to explore their identities without anyone mucking with them. I don't know how large the problem is. It may be relatively small. Whenever it ends up with anyone on powerful medications, we should take notice. I thought we had learned that part.
5
She is so elitist that she doesn't think censoring books is a big deal anyway. Only her students and her children and her friends' children read books anyway.
5
They wave a Ukrainian flag.

@lachlanbell8390 So you're saying that as a matter of law, the Richard McGinnis instruction should have been refused? The mens rea for recklessness is defined in the instructions. The McGinnis incident occurred BEFORE Rittenhouse was struck by anyone, so this essay you wrote is irrelevant. "Intent" is a term of art which is NOT synonymous with mens rea. A NEGLIGENT homicide must have a mens rea, but certainly not "intent," or "recklessness." You're right. You didn't read.
5
"Slogan" -- the perfect characterization! :)

I knew NBC lied, I had no idea how much.

@natejones8508 I said it is rare for anyone (example: Intercept) to be as fair to Glenn as Glenn is to people he despises (example: Gaetz), much less those he respects (examples: Assange; Snowden). Intercept violated his contract with them. He was willing to publish his story elsewhere, as he had a right to do under the terms of his contract. They denied that he did, then made ridiculous personal attacks against him. He made the correspondence public. Greenwald is more fair to the likes of Gaetz than Intercept was to him. And he was a founder of The Intercept.
5
@natejones8508 The story he proposed didn't violate anyone's rights, claim Hunter should be indicted, for anything, or claim Hunter was already indicted, or about to be indicted, and on top it it, the story turned out to be factually accurate. In one case, there is a pending investigation, as there should be. In the other, we are supposed to believe "Russia did it!!"
5
Perfect, sadly.
5
@daysjours Anyway, Kyle does not strike me as sharp enough to see through it. He'll look for signals from other people for how to act.
5
@gilbertrosa7330 Glenn is right about the uncanny power of social media. I want to say anti-social.
5
Yes -- a war on civil rights and, even more so, civil liberties.
5
@jocksharerock7318 Glenn just demonstrated that Biden lied (or is incompetent) only weeks ago.
5
You forget that a person with standing to challenge a government act has to bring a justiciable case first, and there are strict rules concerning where the case has to be filed. Glenn explained how that works. If the district court exceeds its powers, there are emergency appeals or even mandamus. No judge reaches out to decide these cases.
5
I think he has a sh*t-eating grin. A/k/a "duping delight."
4
@gherieg.1091 So end the embargo. Let them fail all by themselves. I though the US "believed" in "free" markets. So, drop all embargoes everywhere, except for armaments.
4
She comes off like a phony creep from the first syllable.
4
Two words, plus a question mark: Rio Tinto?
4
Have you seen Glenn's video on why Trump didn't pardon Assange or Snowden?
4
It has ALWAYS been a principle of statutory construction of criminal laws to read them narrowly. Bravo Justice Jackson.
4
@bernie4268 You think Djokovic needs or cares about a PLUSH player lounge? He's non-Western, mate. He's not a Bill Gates.
4
@SuperAshleyriot I sometimes wonder whether this is deliberately done by the government (i.e., killing civilians) to see what they can get away with.
4
Something wrong with her.
4
If this were not so tragic and desperate, it would be funny.
4
Nowhere does Glenn deify this poor, troubled kid. It's not about "sides," but about due process and real evidence. That's the point.
4
@MuantanamoMobile And can you imagine what being smeared by one group and lionized by another is doing to a young mind that is already on the edge? It's abuse, from both. And these are adults. Glenn was 100% right about the speculation concerning whether he was faking tears. His lawyer said he's being treated for PTSD, which is believable as he seems to have episodes when he can't breathe right. He never made it through junior year in high school, and right-wing politicians are floating the idea of making him an intern in DC. Absolute insanity. I never thought anyone could sink so low. It's as though there is no bottom. He needs to be under court supervision to age 21 and probation to 25, as a bare minimum.
4
And she loved every minute of it.
4
THIS
4
Neocons used their leverage to the hilt, but you will not see The Squad do anything of the sort. Never. (The new Mod Squad, LOL)
4
I love Glenn. If journalists won't state when politicians are lying, "then what is the purpose of journalism?" The purpose is M - O - N - E - Y. (There's a song about it.)
4
This is a great discussion.
4
@michaeledwardhunter And my response just got censored. Read the CNN message boards praising all the people who jeer at "anti-vaxxers" and are happy when one of them dies because "they deserved it." IOW, you are an optimist. We got here, and over WHAT? For what reason?
4
No one should be allowed to leave their property with an AR15-style rifle strapped to them, absent training and licensing as an armed security guard and in no event alone. If that sort of arm is necessary, so is a camera and a backup. But you praise a minor child for doing this. A full generation after Columbine and Wisconsin's legislature was incapable of drafting a reasonable, constitutional gun law with respect to minors. I think there have been mass shootings lately in schools but I'm not sure. I don't bother to take note. I no longer care. ( /s? What do you think?)
4
@ledaswan5990 So they should have the opportunity to get it, and all side effects should be treated for free.
4
He just explained to you that is categorically false. Oh! Wait! You couldn't listen. Now I understand, dear. Bless your heart.
4
Please don't worry. We've been here before. :/
4
@Avatar_Brandy I agree it's nothing new de facto. But putting in place all the paperwork rather than trying to cover it up is concerning all right.
4
They have less stuff. They are also vulnerable to economic downturns whenever there is any issue with their few main exports, because they're an island and lack economic diversity. Most of the Caribbean needs tourism (or tax shelters for millionaires) to live. Cuba is better than that.
3
@kays0ne This one is a troll. I'm blocking her. Her MO is to pretend she doesn't know what you said and "you must be crazy."
3
@agaperion She is on the UATX board. That would make her Glenn's boss, at least technically. After The Intercept, can you see that? "Growth mindset" is a slogan. You like what she says, so you ignore her lack of competence. Thus the last presidential election.
3
I believe there were insurrectionists present on January 6, as well as FBI provocateurs and plants. If we could have an equivalent of the Church Committee, I'd be for that. What are the chances?
3
I most admire Glenn for his valiant effort at keeping a straight face during the intro. As soon as you get some distance on this, you see the absurdity.
3
@kevinschmidt2210 Please give us a reference to The History of Evil statute. Seems like something we should know about.
3
@awen777 People who are willing to accept provocateurs played a role in 1/6 will deny that at least some of the George Floyd demonstrations that degenerated into violence had government agents provoking that violence. Even Jimmy Dore presented evidence early on that there were provocateurs in the George Floyd demonstrations. Briahna Joy Gray reported on the fact that BLM started a foundation and then misused funds, cutting off the actual ordinary people who support the basic idea -- including Kyle Rittenhouse's older sister. Including Kyle himself, for that matter. Everything we see is falsified and monetized and looted, and people who could have understanding for one another are driven to hate each other. This is deliberate.
3
@daddyaf945 All but your statements are shadowed. We are SO FREE!! It's wonderful. I wanted to see the others. Oh well.
3
@bernie4268 I was just censored in responding. My factual response to your blather was censored. Bravo, you win. If a person drives their car illegally their license is revoked and their car can be impounded. They are not forced to undergo a medical intervention against their will. I can't say the rest about "the children." I'll be censored for stating facts.
