  4. Look up the court documents and see what really happened. This case is being misrepresented deliberately, and it could serve as an object lesson instead. It's also sad that he was under so much pressure at work, and felt he had no alternative. He needed rehab. This is not a simple case.

  6. @iansane1928  Yes, that is true, that the totality of the facts and who they point to is what matters --- which is why there is probable cause to try him. But this is not an airtight, "beyond reasonable doubt" case based on what we know so far. This woman is an excellent lawyer.

  7. @brigittabalog5226  If you ever read the sick stuff he texted her (and afterwards, she went right back to serving him, instead of straight out of town for a vacation, then a trip to a psychiatrist), you'd see the real picture. I've known troubled women, but no one who would put up with what she did from a boyfriend. He had literally unbearable job pressures and was always on some drugs, not all of which were prescribed. That's what he was trapped by.

His guns and ammo were on display everywhere. She needed to shudder at the stuff he was saying to her and run away, not toward. She was truly crazy. It's all public, in court documents. These people want to pretend she's another Jody Arias and punish Jody again. Or Amber Heard. Spinning it that way gets clicks. 💰💰💰

  29. Depp has a RIGHT to refuse to be evaluated, by anybody, and certainly not by this guy. What this doctor is doing is drawing out the logical consequences of people having that right.

  31.  @janwilson3898  He makes sense for sure: Depp has a right to decline to be evaluated by this guy, or by anybody, especially anybody associated with Heard, and Depp did the right thing by having nothing to do with him. The logical consequence of the lawyer's point is that no expert witness can ever testify to anything in a person who refuses to see them.

  32. @iansane1928  Great observations. I worked on appeals for a court -- and you've batted a thousand. Very rare for a non-lawyer. If you're under 45 and want to work until 70 (for meaningful Social Security, lol but not funny), consider law school.

In any event, during WWII in the United States (in stark contrast to the Axis or the USSR), anyone under 17 had to lie to get into the Army, and no one under 18 was supposed to be drafted. If you had no high school diploma yet, you were supposed to turn 19 before you would be drafted.

  50.  @eaglerider1826  The individual states can have reasonable requirements for gun ownership and carrying, open or concealed. The Supreme Court cases that say so are available online. That's why some states, like Texas, have a stringent test for CC permits. That's why a 12-year-old can't buy a gun. That's not an infringement. They can't sign most contracts, either. That's not an infringement. They don't have the exact same First Amendment free speech rights in public school as their principal does. Still no infringement. It's not that tough, buddy.
