We thank you for the tragedy of idealism. Most people are not selfless.

I am still attempting to determine whether Russian troops have actually crossed the border into Ukraine proper, and taken new positions within Ukrainian territory beyond what they had prior to this week. Discrepancies wherever you look. I invite everyone to look, including the current map on the first page of the NYTimes online edition. Best of luck.

A lot of Jewish people are speaking out, and have been, long before October 7. I love Amy Goodman for refusing to silence them, like Netanyahu and his allies do.
13
@thelastestsportnews Precisely what Professor Gordon is suggesting. I think the hypothesis that Israel knew is strong. It is not yet proved, no, but . . . Well.
13
The one credibly accused sex trafficker had close ties in both political parties, and Trump appointee Acosta was forced to resign because of his role in granting him a sweetheart deal on earlier trafficking charges.
13
We don't have what we have because we "worked" for it. We took it.
13
And lives only get worse.

I'm surprised that a law prof framed the issue this way. She spoke of the tendency of IDF veterans to commit violent acts -- this is imputing a propensity to crime based on some characteristic. The point is that these people committed an aggravated assault and must be prosecuted. Stick to the evidence at hand. Their identity is irrelevant.
12
@Rubylove48 Thanks for mentioning that!
12
Thank you for this.
12
His own power.

@IronskullGM Every last one does better than we do. Or, does less badly, if you prefer. I won't take a drug the Scandinavians consider unsafe. I don't look to our public health. They've not proven themselves.

Let's be honest: the university presidents did a terrible job. This is evident from the explanations given by these two distinguished scholars. The factual premises of Stefanik's questions were not challenged, the presidents showed no real interest in the concerns of Jewish students, and were lukewarm in their defense of the First Amendment when they should have been passionate. Political speech during times of controversy and war must be zealously protected. Amy Goodman shined here. Thank you, Amy.
12
The moment Dr. West said "empire" with reference to the US, I knew his tenure was in trouble.
12
@katiavramova7629 You are confusing two entirely separate and different cases. Please take greater care in commenting about a homicide.
11
Amy Goodman has provided the very finest coverage of this war. It is humbling to hear from these brave people. Thank you so much, Amy.

@letsomethingshine That minors should be allowed to have treatments that will likely sterilize them for life is not "science." It is a policy choice. And it makes money for someone. Choice means the choice to be a birth parent someday. Some people decide to do that in their 30s and 40s, and had no idea they would want to when they were only 16. I am for protecting choice, "even" for kids with gender dysphoria and fluid gender presentation.
11
The speed with which it did is what is really staggering.
11
@TobbeVijlto Sophie Scholl was even fewer people. But in any case, you are wrong about the numbers here.
11
@terirea7743 I don't deny that, but most people at least vaguely know they exist. The US is not great at giving anyone a voice apart from its own designated "elites."
11
They did a terrible job. Let's face it.
11
A true threat is not and has never been First Amendment-protected "free speech." Don't confuse matters. The protesters supporting the Palestinian children -- that is free speech. Unfortunately, that speech is resulting in negative consequences for the protesters.
11
@drummerk6756 The paper did not violate ANY law by taking an anonymous tip, then checking public records to attempt to verify it, and then not even publishing it. The police violated federal law because they seized items that cannot be seized absent subpoena. Look it up.
10
@ericpratt9509 Except that she DIDN'T. It is nonsense to claim that by suggesting progressives consider voting for a progressive candidate, she "essentially" told them to vote for Trump. By that logic, absolutely any Democrat would be fine, regardless of record or positions, and no one dare make any demands -- no one dare raise a question. Funny. That's just what we've got. Trump was the biggest gift of Joe Biden's life.
10
@Name-jw4sj OH. They should stop having her on, eh? Even now that Biden has won? Tell me, why does Briahna need to be deplatformed now? What imperative is served? To make sure Democracy Now! moves further toward the DNC and identitarian woke-washing?
10
TWICE
10
@RedClaw8605 You mean should they be deported? I thought that was obvious. Is the Pope Catholic, etc? First serve time, then out you go.
10
After the US bombed where my family is from, I haven't cared about its leaders or its ruling class. But we can still reflect upon the death of a person as a person. Memento mori. Russell Brand actually had some very perceptive and compassionate remarks. To pause and think about those things seems like the better response to me, for now. After the period of mourning and funeral, that is a very different matter.
10
@frankwerts9279 First of all, they do not have access to all of your information. Second, you entered into a contract with your bank, and banking is a regulated industry with obligations to you as well. I have no contracts with Musk.
10
8:14 THIS What about compensation? She only got what she should have had in the first place, not compensation for the harm done to her.
10
God, this hit me.
10
@Find-Your-Bliss- I gave up more than half my income one year to keep an innocent man out of jail, and gave up years of my life to care for an ailing, immigrant father. But "you do you."
10
Why are we attacking vaccines, when the sole serious question is the safety and, most important, the efficacy of the COVID vaccines? That needs to be studied, and the COVID vaccines need to be improved.
10
Support means easing the effect of Western sanctions on Russia, which China will do.
9
@micclay 😂😂😂😂😂
9
So, expansion of NATO to Russia's very border will be achieved one tweet at a time.
9
That was easy to get away with. Joe helped out.
9
They first said the ten-year-old pregnant child was a hoax.
9
"Visitation by demons" I suppose that explains our politics as well as anything.
9
@machsimillian14 Yeah, our funding of Wuhan was a real help to the world all right. The scores of biolabs in Ukraine are as well, I am sure.
9
@ddammadd In other words, reading isn't your thing. That's fine. Are you into math? Music?
8
No pardon of Leonard Peltier?
8
@Curt-Gevert One of the finest lawyers in America, a former federal judge, Kevin H. Sharp, represents him. See what he says about it.
8
@Curt-Gevert Did you watch the entire show? Do you grasp how money changes hands? There is always a reason to question witness credibility, especially in a high profile case.
8
@thedarkone9552 You might read the report of the ICJ and see what they say. The American judge voted with the majority.
8
Newton-Reuther Who are you to say such a thing??
8
When you tell an entire population that it is ON ITS OWN, and that whatever happens to them is their own problem, how do you expect them all to agree to vaccination? If a person is the one in a million who is crippled by it, the social Darwinists will laugh in his face. And if the rate of harm is substantially higher, forget it! No one will risk it. We created this mentality, and it's easy to see how.
8
Someone believes black men are not being systematically murdered?
8
You're speaking fluent American English.
8
@Burcaawi2010 He gave the circumstantial evidence for. He takes care not to overstate anything.
