  12. So glad you took a moment to mention how most people in the message boards are NOT subject matter experts. I’ve been there myself. It’s so easy to just recirculate the anecdotal evidence you’ve heard over time and not do any more research. It’s ESPECIALLY easy to get down on other people for having different findings or opinions. People (in general) need to snap themselves out of it and get more curious, and consider the fact that they, in fact, don’t know everything.

  28. The only thing that bothers me about these self-driving features and safety suites is that they may end up encouraging complacency. Distracted driving is never safe and yet these features might make people think it’s okay to hit the gram when they’re behind the wheel. Until the insurance policy is billed to the car and not the driver, people need to be taking ownership of what their car does

  29. So jealous of the MPG. I feel like, 10 years ago, 40 MPG was only achievable in a hybrid. Also, totally feel you regarding the open space of the Civic, that nice short dash is sweet. My Fiesta is tight and the big bulky dash doesn't help Anyway, THANK YOU for sharing this ownership experience and reminding us all that any day behind the wheel is a good day, no matter what you're driving :)

  36. Can't help noticing how the center screen is so hard to see in direct sunlight! Maybe it's just the camera. You'd think a roadster would have a more elegant way to handle this. The display angle adjustment might do the trick. But who are we kidding, the target demo is probably going to have the top up at all times ;)

  39. I'll never forget the first time I drove in the snow in my Miata with winter tires. I felt like a superhero! Now, after a few spinouts and snow bank incidents under my belt, I've learned a few lessons.

  40. One of my favorite cost cuts in this car is that they didn't even include a 60/40 split folding rear seat. The backrest for all three seats folds down at once, so all the rear seats cannot be used if you need to haul a long item. Of course, you've got the bracing to reckon with anyway, but it's still a funny detail to me
