She is not the first case. In 2019 an American diplomat's wife killed a teenager in UK in a hit and run crash. She fled back to US despite telling the police she would not. She declined to return to UK for the trial and was given an 8 month suspended sentence.

@lophiz1945 Their economy has been collapsing since the nineties, according to many Chinese experts. One renowed expert even put a definitive date as 2001 for its total collapse. You should read his best seller book. He's still adamant he's not wrong. Just the date is a bit off. By 2 decades and counting.
40
Asean countries already getting their Teslas from Shanghai . No issue.
34
Having a regular job in China is termed as forced labour. According to western msm.
31
@gregkelly2145 Sane old repeated drivel. Companies moving to Vietnam, India or Mexico. Have to research to see what's happening in Vietnam? Do you know they are also facing multiple headwinds, shrinking exports and frequent blackouts. Chinese companies are also descending on Mexico to set up shop and use it as a backdoor to US.
22
It's already happening here in Asean. Mentioned ev and BYD instantly pops up.
17
They can only get better. No more labour disputes, strikes, exorbitant workers benefits and down time. Trade unions have no chance over time.
13
@ceroandone ICE vehicles are probably much more prone to this happening. Remember you are sitting on top of a highly combustible gas tank.
12
@orionbetelgeuse1937 Sure. Let's blame China.
12
@Sennrsup As an Indonesian I am grateful and happy that the Chinese helped build our first high speed rail in Asean under the BRI. Now I can travel from our capital city Jakarta to my hometown in Bandung in 45 minutes. The journey used to take more than 3 hours by road. Now I can visit and come back to work on the same day. Thanks to the Chinese engineers.

@michaelkatz275 This Peruvian port is a private enterprise joint venture with no Government involvement. The Chinese Cosco Shipping Co owns 60% while the Peruvian mining company Volcano owns 40%. Whether it succeeds or fails, it has nothing to do with the Peruvian government. People should not comment about something they have no idea of. they know
11
Nonsense. They are no 1 here in Asean. Has been on top for more than a year now. There are no such issues.
11
Wow! This is bad news for Byd. Really gonna hit their bottom line.
10
I know it's difficult to accept. But it is what it is.
10
Having a regular job in China, especially Xinjiang is termed as forced labour. Iyghers are not allowed to work in any industry except maybe making their own handicrafts and food for sale to tourists. This maybe acceptable as not forced, by western governments.
10
@KingLutherQ You cant buy them because they are not available in the first place. Even if Chinese phones are available they probably wont work or supported by your telco carriers. They will dominate your market if they are supported. Price is always an important consideration in any consumer's mind. Walmart strives because of this. Don't kid yourself.
9
@kennygaming208 Yet Ford Motors USA CEO prefers a Chinese ev, Xiaomi SU7 as his daily drive. Rather than his own models. That's telling, isn't it?
9
@metrotrujillo Not exactly. Buick sells quite well there.
9
@nilslivetlanga9710 Sure you do. But the Chinese network size and the distance they travel dwarf both Europe and Japan combined many times over. Not to mention, some of these routes were built on really challenging geographical terrains. Something that European rail builders rarely have to face. It's a vast country with four times zones and varied climatic conditions and landscapes. No easy feat to build a massive project like their HSR.
9
@mrfish3915 Geely ev Atto 3 just got a 5 star rating in Euro NCAP safety test. Putting to rest all those European concerns about their safety. Its going to sell really well there.
9
@markfinch2016 The Chinese are way ahead of everyone else in ev tech. Yhe Germans are investing heavily in Chinese ev tech. Like VW 700 million dollar investment to acquire 5% in Chinese ev maker Xpeng. Audi is collaborating with Chinese SAIC to build China specific evs. Mercedes invested in Chinese start up Momento to get access to their autonomous driving solutions. Mercedes intends to build an all electric CLA model using these solutions. You may not be aware that VW have invested more than a billion dollars to set up an ev research and development centre in Hefei China. Not back home in Germany. So you see most of the advanced tech is coming from China. Why the need to steal outdated tech from anyone.
9
Chinese lunar holiday. Whole country on vacation for at least 10 days.
9
Why not. They have been making evs since 2008.
9
Bla bla bla. But you are here nevertheless. Curious no doubt.
9
Chinese Geely group acquired Volvo from Ford back in 2010. The design team is still in Sweden. Polestar and XC models
8
@leedaq7767 Absolutely false. Here in Malaysia it's a rarity to have an outage. Even outside our cities. Can't comment about our neighbors
8
diemes5463 So you are saying the Big Three in Detriot never ever got a helping hand from Washington at all?
8
Maybe jn US . But here in Asean, especially Thailand, Chinese evs have taken off like a rocket. In just over a year since, you find Byd, Neta, Ora, and MG evs everywhere when they were none before. Both BYD and GWM are building their plants here to support the right-hand drive market here as well as Down Under.
7
I am sure they wouldn't miss you too.
7
@robertthomas2673 Church? Are you serious. I am a regular church goer during my time in Shanghai. Catholic, I mean. There is also a charismatic church near my workplace. The caretaker told me it was set up by an American missionary.Quite popular, I was told. My advice is to leave your basement and travel the world. You'll be astonished what garbage our msm dole out to the uninformed masses.

Tofu brain
7
OMG!! One lost customer. This is awful news for Byd. Really gonna affect their bottom line.
7
Delusional. Chinese market the most competitive in the world. Their ev tech far ahead of Japan. Toyota caught with their pants down. Whether to go fill electric or hybrid or stick with their ice.
7
The fire on board the cargo ship off the Dutch coast back in Aug 2023 was first thought to be caused by an ev. But salvage crew dismissed it as they found all 498 evs parked in lower deck were undamaged. Another huge fire that destroyed 1200 cars in tbe Luton Airport car park in Oct 2023 was also thought to be caused by an ev. Again it was confirmed that a diesel powered Range Rover that's the cause.
7
@dzcav3 Japanese is a spent force. Old tech. They are struggling with their hsr project in India.
7
@grantbuttenshaw Copium. The next preferred addiction after fentanyl in America.
7
@dustinstorey6779 Some credit. It's an embarrassing failure. Despite having all their vast resources at their disposal.
7
@chrisbell238 BYD is already in Lancaster Calif. Being there for quite awhile. So Newsome knows who's the best in this buisness
7
You left out Asean, Latin America, Central Asia and Gulf countries.
7
They are definitely coming into Asean and especially here in Thailand. Byd( just one model) is the best selling ev by a wide margin followed by 4 other Chinese evs and then Tesla.
7
You only have to look at the smartphone market to see where Japan now stands. Most of their illustrious elecyronic brands have disappeared. Sansui, Sanyo, Nakamichi, Pioneer, Onkyo, Akia, Hitachi. Probably only Sony and Panasonic are left. For the car industry they are still king of ICE. And will remain so for thd foreseeable future.
7
Relying on this channel for credible info on China is like believing Gordon Chang prediction that China will collapse back in 2001. A date he revised many times over the years since his best selling book was released.
6
Byd blade battery is the safest battery currently in the ev industry. Even Tesla Berlin is using them in their model Y.
6
They also have a side business as an OEM for Apple iPad tablets. They assemble about 30% of their tablet global production with a workforce of about 100k.
6
You are talking about China. They always walk their talk. They say they will build their own space station without outside help, they did. They say they will land a rover on Mars and they did. Xiaomi said they will build and launch their own ev within 3 years, and they just did. Etc etc
6
Total global car sales 2023 China : 30 million Us : 15.5 million Europe : 10.5 million
6
You mean manufacturers like drone maker DJI or smartphone maker Xiaomi or computer maker Lenovo or ev battery giant Catl.
6
@xraylife Tofu dreg BYD just beaten Tesla as the new ev champion.
6
@MrBigbangbuzz They love it here in Thailand. Top 5 best selling evs are all Chinese. So much so three Chinese ev companies are building their assembly plants here to service the right hand drive market.
6
@MrBigbangbuzz Here in Thailand BYD Atto 3 is the best selling ev by a wide margin. With just one model they take more than 30% market share. They are really going to dominate Asean market.
