@90sgamer.person Fortunately John unlike warehouse workers you have to be fully qualified to be let loose on the front of a 250 tonne train that holds 1300 people at full capacity. Up to 12 months of interviews, exams, stock training and route learning then another test day with a manager to pass out. So unlike a warehouse worker you can't just rock up a foreign agency worker because you need the relevant licences and have passed the necessary tests. Yes, they have made it easier from when I joined the railway 35 years ago but not everyone had the nouse to pass all the tests. Besides all that, I thought all you angry brexit supporters wanted rid of foreigners anyway? So much for being a patriot!

@90sgamer.person I was talking about a tube train (unladen)which is where I worked. Well done for your hard work. I don't knock people for what they earn which is what you've done. Obviously the broom/warehouse piss taking went over your head John. And that's your problem fella - you've just spent countless posts knocking other people's wages, the common issue is comparing a train driver to a nurse. But you don't like it when I mention that you earn more than a nurse for still effectively working in a warehouse. Not nice is it? My suggestion is that you find out ALL the reasons why rail workers are striking, stop going down the usual route of being one of the sheep that look like they've soaked up over a decade of tory crap and stick by them as one day YOUR job could be next. Also, let's not forget that if you get weekends and bank holidays, annual leave, pension, anti discrimination rights, maternity/paternity pay etc etc where they all came from. Yes, The union members over the years all losing money to fight for what's right for EVERYONE.

He has to. He gets asked the same questions J.

Webbed hand gang. Funny with all the farmers down there now crying they have lost their EU subsidies.
5
@bobblue_west How do you know those station staff are RMT members? What are they looking at on their phones? Are you a mind reader?
5
@HM-rw3zx One big PR exercise. Funny how he left a load of afghan interpreter's in the shit in favour of his mates dogs.
5
@simonbarter326 Of course 37billion spunked on T&T is totally acceptable. Keep believing. 🖖
5
@jjefferyworboys8138 That’s the intention. Turn the country to shit then sit back & make a fortune for his rich friends, then go and write a book/do after dinner speeches.
5
@DrMontague Where did you get that info from ? Very interesting.
5
@petyrkowalski9887 Mr Patch is still clapping every Thursday @ 8pm because Jacob says it's patriotic. Fool Brittania.
5
@Razmatazuk That's because people were silly enough to believe the Brexit con fella. Let's make life hard for ourselves and more expensive by leaving the market with our next door neighbours! Not the brightest thing to do was it?
5
@bobblue_west Of course. Ok to pay office and bankers full pay for a year to sit in their gardens but not to keep the oldest metro system in the world afloat in your world of myopia is it? 3 guesses which underground system in Europe gets the least in funding from central government?.... 3 guesses which underground systems workers went to work all thru the pandemic?...
5
@johnmorrissey7873 He pays a days money into the strike fund for members that need it every time the RMT are on strike.
5
I suggest we all go outside at 8pm and clap.

The E bikes the way to go. 👍

@monk3yboy69 Spot on. You will get bankers and office workers complaining about train drivers money often comparing them to other jobs ( mainly nurses ) How do most of those people get to work? Yes, those train drivers and rail staff that got up at 2.30am to get those people where they need to be.
4
@bobblue_west Wow. Did you ask if they were on a break? You should next time.
4
@wideawakerealist2141 Islington Council are one of the richest councils in London. They have a particular traffic camera that generates a million quid in fines each year.
4
@michaelathanasiou2030 It must be terrible being a foreigner complaining about foreigners. Have you ever thought about trying for the tories as the cabinet are mainly foreigners as well.
4
@@matthewsmith3592Until one day one of your family members get assaulted on an empty station then you will be complaining.
4
His salary is £84k Paul. Stop reading the Express fella as it's making you confused.
4
@lincslegend6936 No they're not. Check their voting record in Parliament. Proves they aren't the same.
4
Get Grayling and Raab to sort this mess out.
4
Maria. You are a legend. Well done for caring for your old man. I'd love to buy you a pint. ( beer or whatever ) best wishes for you all. 👍
4
@ecnalms851 Do you feel more “sovereign” with the new blue passport now made in Poland?😂
4
Whatever happened to no VAT on fuel if we came out of the EU? Was that in the bollox box with the money to the NHS?
4
@marvintpandroid2213 Yes, I'm aware of that Marvin. My point was talking about driver only which the tube went over years ago. Fully understand the distance of stations on the main line but there are lots of unstaffed stations on the Underground system too. That was bojos doing when London decided it was a good idea to let him play at mayor. First job - shut 800 booking offices.
4
Welcome to the thickest place in the UK.
4
She's competing with Raab for Mensa entrant of the year.
4
@1inchPunchBowl Unless they've already moved because of Brexit red tape....
4
Cheaper to have a weekend in Spain than go out in London.
4
Give her a chance. She has had her picture taken sitting in a fighter jet after all. Honorary tea maker.
4
Not many ethnics in South Dorset. Lovely people on Portland - 🖖🏻
4
And I bet Sunak wishes he had the use of the Dublin agreement to “ stop the boats “ too.
4
You have to blame the working class numpties for this. They actually thought that Bojo and his gang were going to help them!
4
@90sgamer.person On the subject of driverless trains John. It won't happen in our lifetime. The infrastructure and money isn't there. Please don't quote the DLR as that's an entirely different entity.
4
" I'm naturally making things up as I go along" Just like the Tories...
4
@barrylaflin8425 Did you claim furlough Barry? Biggest act of socialism in years fella.
4
With eyes that close together Hunt's peripheral vision must be terrible. At least he can justify the blinkers unlike some.
3
Really going to get £30 an hour for picking fruit n veg aren’t you?
3
@daffyddduck2419 Not if you were claiming asylum.
3
Controlling borders...🤣
3
@deegreeeen8612 Nothing at all wrong with a good union. My one got me everything I deserved after being shat on by management after I became ill.
3
@simonshotter8960 No chance. This is the UK. Xrail - 4 billion over budget and nearly 5 years late and guess what? They have a driver Simon. Whilst ATO is possible , fully driverless trains is a Bojo bollox fallacy. Anyone who knows anything about how the railways work wouldn't even mention driverless trains. The infrastructure in this country can't handle it. No point in comparing our trains to countries abroad.
3
@ktu668 Nonsense. Jobs hard and I would know as I did it for 33 years.
3
A door opener , nothing more.
3
@bobblue_west No. All rail staff are monitored in some way. Drivers ( obvious ) platform staff are given different Jobs depending on location. Granted, in the old days at stations on the extremities of the combine the station staff were normally a station supervisor and they didn't go anywhere. Now they will have more than one station to look after and do various safety checks. Your 9 to 5.30 pm might be better directed at office staff. First 30 minutes talking over coffee about last nights tv and then a full hour for meal break, plus not forgetting the copious amounts of fag breaks huddled around somewhere. Also not forgetting weekends off, bank holidays and Christmas shut downs. None of that applies to the railway.
3
@D C Spot on DC. Give train drivers more tax breaks. Considering they get the country to work and worked all thru the pandemic they should be given bonuses too. It's nice to see someone who actually sees the bigger picture. 👍
3
Sorry to hear that. It does prove that Brexit was and is a load of tosh. If these companies can't get staff from Europe they will get them from India etc all part of sweeteners from any trade deals.
