I was seeing him for trust issues, so just one more trusted person betraying me was not the best for my opinion. They almost all got married and had kids and got divorced, or are on vacation all the time, or working. It's insanely hard to get friends as a single 40 year old man in the midwest that ignores church and bars.

If it's helping other kids or helping your own, I'd expect a good father to put his own before all others. It's why parents coaching is always an issue, they have to play favorites. I don't even have kids, but I have nieces, and guess what, if they were drowning I'd use the other kids as stepping stones to get to them, others are not my RESPONSIBILITY, that's THOSE FATHERS' responsibility.

It's where 'mansplaining' comes from, stupid as it is, because if someone, man or woman, is sharing a problem with me, to me that's them asking for me to help solve it, not to just listen and say oh that's so bad. I want to be useful, so if you're telling me something I feel it has to be for a REASON, not to just say things. If I'm telling you something, ALL I want is a solution! If I'm talking about dating and women, I want a fix, not to 'be heard'. Being heard is the bare minimum of what I'm owed.

As a man I was always told to 'attract a mate' you needed to be smart, why, to get a good job to provide, so you could afford a home, and all that. Now I'm here and I've met all society's boxes, I checked everything, where's my wife? Wasn't I supposed to be issued one, I did everything society told me to, I went to the places, I did the things, I made the money, I own the house, I got debt free, I worked my deadlift up to 315lbs, I got my 5K down to 30 minutes...what's enough? Oh, things aren't enough, now I have to be funny and charming and look people in the eye and all that...getting all the stuff you told me too was hard enough now I have to learn all that, just to get one night stands? Nah. Society, done.

We can't keep failing, this was supposed to fix things, what's NEXT? Nothing? Guess just stay broken? That is the issue. I go to the auto parts store, it's for the right auto parts to fix my truck. I go to the grocery store for groceries, I go to the liquor store for liquor, so when I go to the therapy store and get a defective product sold as good, it's adding upset on top of the upset you went there for in the first place. Like going to to the dentist and leaving in MORE pain then you had before.

I was reading Fahrenheit 451 and Brave New World and 1984 in grade school, I just acquired the book and read it. No one made me or stopped me lol. I read Animal Farm in middle school, so It was weird when we covered it in senior year English class finally.
