Here's the problem I have with dehumanizing someone due to their views: if you can do it to someone, you can do it to ANYONE. I personally don't want to be dehumanized, so I oppose dehumanizing anyone. It's the same with censorship. If something can be censored, that makes room and precedent for ANYTHING to be censored. 'Hate Speech' is a vehicle of this. Oh, racism is bad, hate speech, silence it...but then a while later, before you know it, it's something mundane and mainstream that a vocal enough minority bitches about, oh, that's now hate speech, just like racism, and you're 'evil' for saying that opinion, silence it. And if you try to fight back against that, well now you're a 'bigot' who 'platforms' and defends 'hate speech'...It's very insidious and pernicious.

  13. She's not entirely wrong. If id skipped college id be ahead and far wealthier today, just by virtue of not spending. All the time I'm thinking damn, that $50k I spent for nothing, for zero benefit, that was my third home down payment, my College degree cost came with far higher opportunity costs. The job I have now thay my degree has no impact on, id be retired today at 40 if id started then instead of going to college.

Oh noes the cops hassled a black man, what does the President think, what's he doing? I'd hope he's ignoring those local problems and focusing much larger. Obama was horrible at over engaging.   25. Here's a real world example, ideally the oxygen concentration around you for breathing and living should be about 20-21%, so if it drops 1% that might not sound like a great deal, right? It won't sound like anything because you'll potentially be unconscious, suffocating. Covid, the worst disease ever forever that's ever been, allegedly, has a fatality rate of just 1%, but would we consider that 'a great deal' of death, it's just 1%, 1 in 100 chance.

  41. I might be alone in this, but I'd think terrorism would be 'better' in something like this. Let me explain what I mean by that. If it's terrorism, that means it at the least has some sort of meaning. It happened for some reason, even if a crazy reason. It would be far worse, in my opinion, by my thought processes, if it was just some random event, some crazy that decided to do a thing and it means nothing. We can make sense of out purposeful violence, they were killed for an idea, or someone was killed for money, something like that. But someone you love randomly dying for no reason at all, that's terrifying. The Las Vegas shooting is like that. We never found out why it happened. What was the REASON? All those people just died to die for no reason whatsoever, at random, apparently. Stay safe.
