  6. Jealousy is bad, but ENVY can be useful. I know personally it makes me feel bad seeing happy couples and families, but not in a way that I'm like "F them, why do THEY deserve that and I don't", no, that's a mistake. Thinking damn, what can I do myself to get that because that's what I want. It's nothing to do with those strangers, they're just the example I'm comparing my situation to. I don't hate them, I hate whatever about me is keeping me from that, THAT I can probably work on and control. I can ASPIRE to that. I look up to those successful people, I ADMIRE them.

  8. I tell men that's a mistake, having kids is when you need to step on the gas of life, more risks, more speed, more work, more goals. You have more to lose so you can't slow down. Slow and lazy and safe is what you do when you're single, to stay alive to reproduce lol. Also, what man wants kids to see them as some sap, some loser? Hell no, kids are an excuse to live life WAY harder and take them with you. Be the dad that's taking the kids skydiving on the way to traveling the third world. That lets his son drive the race car.

From now on when YOU leave the house, try this: Look into your eyes in the mirror, and truthfully state to yourself "I love you, I trust you, you have a good heart, you're going to make good decisions" and see if you start feeling better each time.   18. Right? That's why I say the most valuable things have to be given, not earned. Bought love is not real. It has to be selfless to be truly there. That's seen rarely. Being controlling and forcing people into 'loving' you, basically serving you, that's easy, you see that all the time, every day. Being loved or beloved, people CHOOSING or even putting in effort you didn't ask for or maybe even want or expect, that's love, that's somewhat rare anymore. That's your sibling texting if you're still at work, because they realized you've been at work all day and you're probably hungry, so it just so happens they've cooked one of your favorite things and of course far too much of it, they'll be by in 5 minutes with food for you. Unexpected, unsolicited, and with no expectation of anything in return being cared for, that's WEALTH, and it's priceless.

  25. I know a LOT of men like her too, that will tell you things like "You just had to miss work, I had my KID, my kid is more important than your job" NOT TO ME. My career IS MY KID, I care about it more than any kids you have. And I tell those men that and they get upset, but oh well. You're a dick. No on cares about your kids but you, and especially us men with no kids. I don't deal with single mom's, sure as hell not going to put myself behind single dads lol.   26. That's why I have a man rule for stuff like that: They're not here, I'm not thinking about them. I'm on a 6 mile trail run, alone, so why would I think of other people? This is my time to not have to do that, just for an hour, let me be ME, not "ME in the context of how I relate to other people". As far as I'm concerned in that moment, there are no other people. It's just me and the moment, every moment, and they all count. If women never get to feel that, I pity them, I truly do. We should all get to experience freedom inside our own head and selves now and then.

  30. Have you seen how women are trying to 'reclaim the space' by changing it from STEM to STEAM, Science Technology Engineering ART Math. NO! The whole point of STEM in my opinion was to get the 'art' out of things that aren't that artistic. I have degree minor in math, it's not art unless you consider learning and applying rules artistic. STEM is a safe place for the non-artists, literally 'safety in numbers' instead of people.

He had almost as much expereince as me, is on track to get all the same licenses I have, and has worked at more treatment plants than I have. My interview process was giving him a tour, describing things, answering his very knowledgeable and relevant questions, then just saying "I can see you know what you're doing, do you want to give us a try?" | I'd basically already hired him on paper because his resume was great, so the interview was basically a formality. I need people, I'm not trying to disqualify, I'm trying to convince lol. Luckily in my org, at the moment, I'm my own HR dept.

  50. I know SO MANY men who consider work their ESCAPE from their homelife. I used to work with a guy who had 5 autistic kids, and he was always first to volunteer for nights, weekends, holidays, and if you asked him he would straight up tell you "It's the only way to get a break from these damn kids". He openly resented them. People are complicated.
