  2. The liquidity crunch may actually have been caused by Goldman and other banks that are highly exposed to SoftBank which is highly exposed to WeWork's failed IPO and other over-valued Silicon Valley collateral, which suddenly lost billions in value.

  4.  @1polonium210  Actually not. I’m 64. Back before President Reagan politicians actually cared about inflation and the Fed acted accordingly. Since 2008, politicians don’t care about inflation, excess government or government spending and the Fed has acted accordingly. Fed and government changed the way inflation is calculated so Fed speak 2% inflation is 4%, 2.5% inflation goal is really 5% inflation goal. In reality the Fed balance sheet has gone up at the same time they claim to raise interest rates .75 points. It doesn’t make sense to expand money supply when Fed supposedly fighting inflation. This is all done at Biden’s request for Fed to pretend to fight inflation, say they are, and at the same time keep the good time dollars flowing.

  8. It's money from the Federal Reserve. The 7+ trillion dollars the Federal Reserve mostly went to bail out big corporations owned by the rich. If that money was split evenly among all adult citizens, we'd each get a check for $30,000. That would have helped the economy far more, especially for minorities. Don't hear any Democrats bringing that point up.

  10. Inflation because we have lots of cash flowing into a smaller economy with limited production and limited supply of products. The U.S. imports many products from overseas and they want a real economy backing the currency. They don't want to be paid with funny money. I haven't noticed any price dropping other than for gas.

  17. Banks control Federal Reserve and know ahead of time how to set up trades. Fed acts, investment firms make money with insider knowledge of what Fed is doing. Banks that own investment firms make massive profits. Average investor without insider knowledge loses. Fed doesn’t care about employment or inflation, just greasing the wheels the themselves.

  19.  @Optimum45  I'm just pointing out that both parties spend excessively. Personally, I'd welcome spending billions to secure the southern boarder and an extremely aggressive policy of deportations for people who came to the U.S. illegally and overstayed their visas. I'm also 100% against immigrants or anyone else being able to legally bring in relatives, especially older relatives that can qualify for benefits like Social Security and Medicare quicker than U.S. citizens. My parents legally immigrated, worked and never took any kind of welfare.

  49. Mohamed is wrong. All businesses are already factoring in anticipated higher costs for all products they sell in for future delivery. Why does anyone believe the Fed as it continues to expand its asset purchases in spite of over 7% inflation, which is 15% under inflation calculations from the 1970’s.
