  15. Philip Lopiano Not totally bleak outlook. Government, healthcare, Amazon and delivery services are actually doing good. The day always looks darkest before dawn. Crashes usually bottom out 6-18 months after the peak, so the next few months will likely be bad. I do feel sorry for people who are not prepared in any way for this economic downturn.

  29. Tom Brown I respectfully disagree. In 2008 it started with the housing industry, which exposed bad bundled mortgages. In 2020, it started with supply chains originating from China which will effect industrial production and retail. Now the virus panic is spreading to the cruise industry, tourism, travel and airlines. This will spread to support industries and banks or whoever else holds the debt. The supply chains will likely recover first, but it will meet up with the other failing sectors of the economy. Unfortunately, there was already a lot highly leveraged debt in the world economies. Central banks should have waited to cut rates when credit would be most needed. Right now its a supply chain problem and demand problem.

  35. People will have unemployment. Unemployment insurance can be extended. Welfare rules can eased. Local and state governments can be given more money from the federal government. No one in the U.S. needs to starve unless the Republicans only continue welfare for the rich. Everyone does not need a check, I don't need a check, that's ridiculous. Companies should go bankrupt and can be recreated like GM was in 2008.

  41. fanele mabaso People buying loads of toilet tissue and water are signs of panic because it makes no sense in urban areas. Almost no one can buy masks or packets of towelettes because they get sold out immediately or bought by staff. It gets worse from here.
