Foreigners normally are the last ones in the American market before a crash. Stocks owners are like people jammed in a crowded theater with one working exit. If Boeing can't issue enough new stocks and bonds to survive, let the Boeing go bankrupt and they'll be restarted as a new entity, just like GM was in 2008. The precedent was set in 2008. GM was more important than Boeing. GM was recreated as a successful entity. This is a capitalist system, right? We're not a welfare system, right?

  32. J Lons Which taxes? They pay a small percent of Medicare tax, Social Security tax, sales tax, utility tax, gas tax and probably a lot of other taxes. What about big corporations like Amazon that pay little tax? I've never seen a figure that lists the total taxes paid, always income taxes.

The money is being spent on protecting banks and investors; subsidizing farmers and drug development, paying outrageous amounts to government contractors. Take a look at the federal budget and see where the money gets spent. Then take a look at the complex tax laws with lower taxes for capital gains, dividends and caps on taxes for social security and Medicare so the wealthy pay a smaller percent of taxes than the average worker.

Dan Ferguson China got great trade deals and business deals where companies like GE moved manufacturing to China to boost their profits for a few years then lost control of their technology to Chinese companies who proceeded to complete against GE. It's the fault of near term thinking of Wall Street management and investors. The chickens have come home to roost.

  49. Federal Reserve created trillions of dollars when we had shortages of goods which got inflation going into double digits. Federal government is too big and has an annual deficit in trillions of dollars which will continue to create inflation. U.S. economy is dependent on manufactured goods from and a trade deficit with China, that adds to inflation. Interest rates are below inflation rates, that also keeps inflation going. Some products increasing by 25% to 50% from a year ago as new inventory comes in. Wage increases are not the problem and are averaging below the inflation rate.
