How bad do you think it was for Greeks? https://www.statista.com/statistics/416209/average-annual-wages-greece-y-on-y-in-euros/ We had huge raises from 2001 till 2010, in most cases living better than germans. Then we had to adjust to our real potential and productivity. The reasons you think it was harder than it was is : 1. It's Euro. So our wages need to fall. Wages in TL can stay the same but if TL falls, so does the purchasing power. 2. We owed money to many countries so they were worried about getting their money back. 3. Greeks protest way more.

Greeks : Not at all. It's just the first time someone actually cared because we owed so much money, it was their problem too.

We gave our airports for "pennies" because no one wanted to buy them. I hope you do understand how the price system works. When we entered Europe we were poorer working mostly in the private sector, certainly with more than 0% debt. Then we wanted become 45 year old pensioners. It perfectly adds up. When you start spending like crazy (as the greek state did) then your debt goes up.

Obviously you were too lazy to actually watch the video. And too low IQ to understand complex issues.
1
No. But the Eurozone would be better without greeks, so no one would bother with our misery.
1
Seems like he does, but indirectly.

@zazenzach5754 It's not the first time Greece defaulted, all the other times we had "control of our own currency" The reason why Japan is strong despite the debt is because she didn't borrow to spend it on welfare, salaries and pensions. Read more about this VERY IMPORTANT difference.

Not even close.

Don't remind me of Argentina and how many Greeks believed that Argentina was doing better. Sometimes when crisis happens, people go on crazy stupid mode.
1
You haven't even seen a greek ever. And you don't even have a university degree.

1. France didn't pay. It was EU and IMF. 2. They didn't "pay the debt" actually. Greece still owes the money but with better terms.

@badiulalamhimel3541 It's not true, but I won't bother explain more. In any case I'm thankful to France as for all the other countries which helped.

I admire US for a lot of things, but not for everything and it's not exactly paradise. The poor GR has life expectancy 79.5 years for male and 84.5 years for female. For US is 76.3 years 81.4 Murder rate for GR -> 0.94 per 100.000 inhabitans For US -> 4.96

Turks should compare themselves with other middle eastern countries.

Voters started it all. But it's always nice if we can shift the blame.

I understand your good intentions, but don't spoil us even more. Greece has problems, but Greeks have to realize that some countries have it even worse (for example Turkey). Greeks don't have to pay rent (75 % home ownership vs 59% in TR) Have much more median wealth than TR. Live longer They don't have high inflation. 50% of Greeks owns a car vs only 10% of Turks. If you want to help your neighbor country, tell them to stop acting like kids and be grateful for the huge help they had from all around the world. No one is helping Turkey and yet Turks are not complaining all the time.

Spot on!!!

@ytyt9654 Did I claim that we are equally rich? No, I didn't. But when A says "some parts are wealthy while other parts are falling through the ice" it just isn't true. The problem IS NOT inequality.
1
@ytyt9654 Let's go once more, and maybe you will read it this time: "Did I claim that we are equally rich? No, I didn't." Did I claim that we have better standard of living - NO I DID NOT. But I was replying to a VERY CERTAIN comment. "some parts are wealthy while other parts are falling through the ice." Do you think that the problem is inequality? Then you can argue about it. But you can't claim I said thing I NEVER SAID.
1
Yeah, let's ask the rest of Balkans and Baltic countries. Are Greeks entitled to higher wages?
1
@ytyt9654 Wanna bet on how fast the Nordic politicians will get corrupted? The voters is the problem.
1
@ytyt9654 You don't read or you don't understand, you write one paragraph to just agree with what I wrote. I just can't believe how anyone could miss my point that much.
