Sorry, but helping us with our mess and laying the terms that we won't end up like that again isn't my definition of sacking.
1
Pretty much that. But noticing how populism spreads during difficult situations, don't think that other countries are immune. Recently I checked that in well off EU countries there are more antivaxxers than in Greece.
1
@attalan8732 I'm old enough to remember how it was when we had our own currency: BULLSHIT. So than you, I'm not buying it. And anyone with money and work experience in GR doesn't buy that bullshit either. That's why we had a bank run.
1
You forgot a parameter: interest rate. It's kind of important you know.
1
@tomasleitao1775 I wish it was even comparable with GR's case.
1
@wolfbrigade1425 1. Sounds true, I'm not sure if GR delayed Germans from attacking Russia and thus got hit by the russian winter. Not an expert and honestly not interested to become one. 2. True, EU money should be spend wisely and EU should always control.
1
By world standards yes. Check the data. Literacy rate, infant mortality, life expectancy, gdp per capita, etc etc.
1
Because people don't understand basic finance. And they vote for whoever promises both higher spending and lower taxation. I would be laughing at this stupidity if I wasn't living here.
1
Ι would never get involved in tupperware party, but Tupperware has amazing products that have lasted for decades. I have never found anything similar from competition. In my country "tuper" means "plastic container"
1
We should definitely cut back on other expenses but we need defense. It's EUROPE's borders we need to keep safe. Unfortunately, we don't live in the center of Europe.
1
I don't know what you think a 3rd world nation is. Google it. Literacy rate? 99% vs 70% Infant mortality Access to healthcare Life expectancy ? 10 years more for Greece!! I'm sad that India isn't doing good, I'd be happy when it gets better. It's not the time and place to look down on someone for being poor , especially when you are way worse.
1
@johanness.7813 He's supporting Syriza. A party which was elected on the basis "we won't pay back our debts" and their program was basically "we will keep spending as we did the previous years and even more, and EU will lend us money for that" I kid you not, Tsipras from Syriza literally said that: "they will beg us to lend us money" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYDR8rKrbCA For populists, the voter is NEVER at fault.
1
@Nick_G. Your offensive speech is no surprise to anyone who knows your mentality.
1
thousands ?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
1
@jasonpark1556 There is an ancient text about Pausanias saying about Persians "they left their rich country to conquer our poverty" But you wouldn't know that because you are too stupid and uneducated. There is another ancient phrase still used "the idiot is laughing when there is nothing for laughs" And your smiley emojis just prove again the truth of that phrase.
1
EU helped a lot, but it wasn't exactly taking the money of Germans and give it to Greece. More like "you owe money to Pete with 5% interest rate and you can't pay him, I'll pay Pete and you owe me this money with 1% interest and longer period of repayment" It's more complicated and if you care for your country, you should learn more about economy.
1
@manicdgr NO. My cousin, 58 years old just received her pension. There are always ways to find your ways in GR. On average is still pensions at very young age and after having worked too few years
1
It's EUROPEAN borders we protect. Soon there will be a European army too.
1
Your people are living under worse conditions.
1
And you will still be an imported barbarian with total inability to fit in.
1
And it's not even true.
1
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Working_time It's always nice to check our premises.
1
We do have the 10th longest coastline in the world.
1
Hans One could say that when European countries were having their Enlightenment, the Industrial revolution etc, Greece was left behind being an agricultural country. While Europe started moving towards democracy slowly but steadily forming strong INSTITUTIONS, Greece until the liberation was basically in the middle ages. The problems Greece has, despite what people think, are basically institutional problems: justice system and the huge mistrust towards the state.
1
Protecting EU's borders is something we can do to return the favor. And that's why NO ONE in Europe complains about it.
1
@shingosshojiopoulos6608 No, it's "proud greeks" who actually behave in the way that hurts Greece the most. Actually that happens in most countries.
1
Unfortunately this isn't the first populist comment I see from loser Greek.
1
When someone says that Greeks are lazy, without checking the statistics of how many hours per week they work I wonder if he's stupid or lazy. Only Greeks are responsible for what happened to Greece, it's a given. But you are also moron for talking before you even googling.
1
Let me guess: he's an american.
1
@michaelclayton7506 Honey, in USA the murder rate is 8 times higher. If he doesn't feel safe, he doesn't have to come. Americans are generally difficult to adapt to European way of living. In USA, when you see graffitys immediately you think of gangs. That's not the case in Greece and I have the numbers to prove it: check homicide rates. Cheers!
1
@mechaiboonpeng5767 The good part of being a small country: it was easy for EU to save us. Unfortunately for India no one can help because it's a huge country. "each time you meet a civil servant (at the office's mayor, at the police station, etc), you'd better have your purse ready to give some bank notes. Is it the same in Greece?" YES. Only some times you don't know who to bribe and even when you bribe you don't get your job done. Even corruption is more complicated here. I don't know anyone in Greece who didn't bribe for the driving licence. But police doesn't take bribes for fines.
1
Because every Greek fully understood the ""Preliminary Debt Sustainability Analysis" and voted YES or NO to that. The most ridiculous referendum in the history of referendums.
1
@tsoupakis I'm not sure what you wanted the government to do, when you voted no to ""Preliminary Debt Sustainability Analysis" Yet, Greece is doing much better now, thank you.
1
Licking Germany's ass didn't work for Turkey.
1
Seeing how other people react in times of uncertainty and crisis, I'm thinking if it's just human thing.
1
Not actually.
1
@kiriya02 How do you think an Italian react if a Greek tried to make fun of Italian economy? Point is : you can make fun of someone's faults but try not to do it when you are actually worse.
1
Why? Greece had defaulted many times in the past, inflation devaluation etc. The only difference is that back then no one cared to help. So no, I'd rather keep the Euro, thank you.
1
Globalization. USA being the biggest player affects more.
1
Yet the average Greek has higher income than the average Turk. And it's still a democracy where people can protest and criticize the government AND the president.
1
@imnotnotgameiacmaniac5327 Japan's debt has totally different structure and reasons, so it's not alarming either.
1
Lesson NOT learnt : find someone to pay for public spending before you promise bull.
1
@aprosarmostos1793 Yeah genius, find someone willing to give you a loan. Basic logic. I hope you do know that the lenders tend to want their money back + interest. Because people like you tend to forget that part.
1
Europe helped Greece and Greece has to help Europe back by protecting EUROPEAN borders.
1
You could say whatever. But that doesn't mean you are correct.
1
pretty much that happened in 2015.
1
If we get an actual good leader, good luck in trying to convince greeks vote for him.
1
1
@wateo1782 Different structure of Japan's economy, different kind of debt. Japan is way better economy.
1
The voters.
