Perhaps, after having him thoroughly searched for recording devices, and having lots of impartial witnesses present?

His name is Hugo Benedict Norton-Taylor. He was born in Bruxelles, and daddy was a Grauniad reporter on military and defence issues for many years, which I find totally unsurprising.
20
I rather expected the BBC to have played solemn martial music, and their announcers to have worn black armbands, when they mentioned the death.
19
Does this Hodges person base all his opinions on headlines he apparently stumbles across? It appears that he hasn't viewed the whole of the meeting between Zelenskyy & Trump/Vance, nor listened to what Vance actually said about 'random European countries'. One should surely be entitled to expect a greater degree of professionalism from someone in his position?
19
@ShyTalks-d8b It seems to be a recent trait. Accuse a post of being from a troll when you cannot think of a credible response.
19
'People don't really like them together.' I don't think people like them apart, much, either.
19
@elizabethsheffield6609 By and large, the Public Sector have done and will continue to do very well out of the current government. I doubt that many of them will struggle at all.
19
Why not strip her of her assets and most of her savings instead, given that she seems to have acquired both under false pretenses?
18
Unfair. He is a Polytechnic lecturer from the late 1970s transported through time to 2024 by a time/space wormhole. He has not yet come to terms with it.
18
At least Trump is talking to people. Harris seems to be being kept away, apart from occasionally reading a speech or two from a teleprompter.
18
Rather more than that, I believe.
18
If the Dear Leader insisted that every liar in his Cabinet resigned, that would include Starmer himself. Presumably Larry the Cat would take temporary charge. Who knows, he might even produce a more sensible budget?
17
The £300 reduction might well happen. What Miliband did not mention was that bills must rise by £1200 before it does.
17
Where was the Education Department, the Local Authority, his Head Teacher, the local M.P., the police, or the unions, when a teacher from Batley was driven into hiding for teaching a lesson?
17
@jayrwickerman Do I take it that you aren't even willing to ask whether the vast majority of ordinary people who have expressed these concerns have genuine worries? Put simply, if people were content with their lot, no amount of extremist agitation would generate such behaviour. You aren't the Dear Leader, Sir Keir Starmer, incognito, are you? Say hello to Angela for me.
17
Thank you for showing the interview at the head of this item. Actual footage of Dracula and Igor sitting side by side is very rare.
17
This is grossly unfair! The Dear Leader was invited, but was obliged to decline after Lord Alli failed to offer to supply him, and Lady Starmer, with new outfits for the occasion. In any case, it was already known that Lady Starmer was washing her hair that day. Shame on you for a far right activist!!
16
Did you say that David Lammy is going to Africa? On his own? As Sergeant Wilson would say 'Do you think that's wise?'
16
Do you think that the Dear Leader will care?
16
'I really give up on any intelligence or common sense remaining in the world.' Alas, the last vestiges of both disappeared some time ago.
16
As I remember it, the BBC was comparatively impartial, until it occurred to them that the result they craved might not be forthcoming. The horror and disbelief on the faces of their presenters when the result came out was remarkable.
16
I wonder who the person sitting two places to her left, and nodding supportively, is?
16
MPs get their heating allowance and their generous expenses for one reason only. Because they can.
15
@Mylostsock11 Actually, he couldn't have attended anyway as he already had an appointment for a dental check up, for which Lord Alli had already paid.
15
@BigAndyG So, a screaming mob in the centre of Londonabad represents 'the peace' in your view, does it? This particular 'fella' wasn't likely to have started any violence.
15
Too many syllables, for a start. I doubt that Harry Markle understands words longer than two syllables.
14
@lesleylamy Lamy? Are you related to David Lammy? Actually, the Dear Leader doesn't have to wander around the world pretending to try to solve the world's problems. Moreover, he might not be experiencing such a rough time if he hadn't stripped pensioners of their winter fuel payment, and then imposed crippling inheritance taxes on farmers, presumably because he thought they were not Labour voters, whilst distributing largesse to the public sector and to train drivers, because he thought that they were.
14
Surely, saying 'Ed Miliband is speaking nonsense' is on a part with saying 'It goes dark at night.' Both statements are self-evident, and universally accepted.
14
I wonder if Lord Alli has arranged his accommodation for him?
14
@john_cockpit Hello Omid! How are things, owd lad?
14
I expect that he cannot open his front door for the long queue of Yuman Rites lawyers desperate to take on his case.
13
David Lammy? Wrong? I am shocked at the very idea!
13
Sadly, the petition could reach 50 million, and those who run things wouldn't take any notice.
13
Not really. In 1944 Britain had two intensely patriotic leaders, Winston Churchill and Clement Attlee. Now we have two leaders who could hardly be regarded in the same manner.
13
That £22 billion black hole is an elusive one. When domestic issues are concerned, it is an almost insurmountable. However, when Ukraine, or the Chagos, are mentioned, suddenly it vanishes.
13
More than just Europe, I fear.
13
@obiwanyorkshobi6507 Define 'Mandate' One in three of those who voted actually voted for Labour, and almost half of the electorate did not vote at all. One of the glories of a two party system. Labour received 10,269,051 votes in 2019. Labour received 9,708,716 votes in 2024. As might have been said in an old episode of 'Star Trek' 'It's a Mandate, Jim, but not as we know it.'
13
@ShyTalks-d8b What a really good idea. Ignore the most powerful nation on the planet, simply because European 'leaders' have been annoyed by a few home truths.
13
Who knows? Perhaps Jim fixed it for him and Lady Starmer to be given masses of free clothes?
13
Alas, when the science fiction short story 'The Marching Morons' was written in the 1950s, about a future world inhabited almost entirely by half-wits (and quarter-wits!) the author did not realise how accurately it would predict the 2020s.
13
Perhaps you might define what a racist building is?
12
@perrydickerson-n8i Well, from Britain, I assure you that our current 'leaders' intend much the same for us.
12
If you were a Labour MP, £91k per year, more or less unlimited expenses, and the ability to make a few lucrative 'contacts' would you rock the boat? These creatures do not become politicians because of an over-developed sense of decency or integrity. Quite the reverse, in fact.
12
More likely, a desperate politician, deeply unpopular domestically and with a failing economy, seeking to look relevant by posturing on the world stage.
12
Very odd, then, that this 'Very DANGEROUS Individual!" was not placed in a maximum security prison then, wasn't it?
12
Perhaps this tells us something about how trustworthy Welby's judgement really is?
12
@JohnMcDonald-ef5gz Sorry if you are offended. One thing is certain, however. Our own Prime Minister would never cloak himself in such a flag.
12
@Big Stu But that is precisely the issue. The makers of the programme are not saying that it is 'just a show.' They are trying to push the claim that Cleopatra VII was black.
11
What I am surprised about is that anyone should be surprised about this.
11
Yes. He was then taken to Downing Street in a fast car to discuss a promotion to a higher givernment post in due course.
