  27. @Big Stu You are missing the point, which is that the makers of this programme, instead of saying that it is simply that, are insisting that Cleopatra VII really was black, which is a claim wholly devoid of any supporting evidence. How do you know what Cleopatra VII did or didn't think, by the way? She spoke Greek, and lived in an area of society totally immersed in Greek culture & tradition.

Isn't it more likely that he is slowly beginning to realise that being Leader of the Opposition, where he could say more or less what he wanted and no-one much cared, was one thing, whereas being Prime Minister, where his words and actions have consequences, is quite another? Saying 'You disagree with me? You must be an Extreme Right Wing Racist' isn't really the best answer to Britain's problems.

  32. The reality is that the population of India is 488 per square kilometre. That of England (not the UK as a whole, as the vast majority of immigrants settle in England) is 454. Put simply, England is full. Capacity is far more the issue than ethnicity.
