This government, and the MPs unswervingly loyal to it, will never be hungry. Whatever food, or fuel, or heat, costs, they can claim it all back on expenses.
55
Wasn't Baroness Smith the one who used her expenses to buy dodgy DVDs for her husband?
45
Why is Haigh different from Reeves? One resigns, the other isn't required to quit.
45
Quite. Unemployment is far preferable to a low paid job, isn't it, Comrade?
34
@RogerMellie-yk3gw Exactly why is having a valid opinion which differs from yours the mark of a 'bad person?'
33
There is something of a difference between animals & humans. Despite what various governments might like to believe.
31
@l4zrh4wk 'People deserve the right to choose.' In your opinion. Give it a few years, and the 'right to choose' will be overtaken by the authority of the state.
30
This creature is all the evidence anyone needs that Alfred Hitchcock was correct when he said that all he required his actors to do was to remember their lines and not trip over the scenery.
29
@abdulsamee4284 Since when has attending a music concert been regarded as a military action?
23
His testimony set a new low. I thought the Inquiry had plumbed the depths with Bogerd, but this person was on a different level. I didn't know how to save or print a document. I never saw the e-mail. I never made any decisions. I was not qualified. What I wrote was not what I meant. Etc., etc.
22
'Before the election Labour kept repeating that all their policies were Fully Funded and Fully Costed.' Of course they were. Keir & Rachel had them fully checked for accuracy. By Diane Abbott herself.
21
Isn't it interesting that those who condemn Johnson as a 'coward' for resigning are exactly the same people who would have condemned him as 'unprincipled' for not resigning?
18
Well, large numbers of fit young men, probably trained in the use of firearms, land on the South Coast every day. I am sure they will step forward to defend Britain should the time come.
14
Well, if the Trevelyan family wish to pay reparations, that is up to them. Just don't expect the rest of us to fund their virtue-signalling as well.
12
Rishi seems to have particular expertise where taxation is concerned. Especially how to avoid paying much tax himself.
10
But, of course, they were only little people, not important at all.
9
Isn't it strange to see someone whose campaign strategy seems to have been falling into water and bungee jumping now leading a party of 70+ MPs?
8
The restraint of both Mr. Beer and Sir Wyn, in not throwing heavy objects at the series of liars and charlatans with which they are regularly confronted, is quite admirable.
8
@braindonor8753 It looks like your brain has already been used elsewhere.
7
Perhaps the people of the rest of the United Kingdom should be asked whether they wish to remain linked to Scotland. Am I the only person who is perplexed by the fixation Krankie has about leaving one Union in order to become a small and irrelevant part of a more authoritarian one? I wonder how well her constant demands of 'gae us mair siller' will be greeted by her potential new rulers in mighty Bruxelles?
7
I rather suspect that the Squadron Leader who sent the e-mail will now be an Air Vice Marshal. He seems to have worked out how to get promotion in modern Britain.
7
Quite depressing that this stuttering nobody is the successor to Tedder, Dowding, & Harris, isn't it?
7
@dcoughla681 Which many on here seem to think is a good thing.
6
@placebo2020 Presumably, only your opinions are the correct & acceptable ones?
6
No. They act, if my own MP is typical, in the best interests of their political careers.
6
I don't really follow US politics, but I thought, perhaps mistakenly, that Biden and Harris had been President and Vice President respectively for some four years. If I am correct, has this 'To Do list' been locked away all that time?
6
@helengraham7472 'Obviously the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.' I doubt that the individual fingers on each hand are sure, either.
6
It will be abused and extended. As such things have been in other countries.
5
@BMack-p9s The Canadians certainly have not navigated it well, though.
5
@Carter.112 Indeed. But not in Normandy.
5
@lauriew3517 Or, bowing down to the mob?
5
Of course she didn't answer any questions. She is a politician.
5
A pity that Dear Rachel failed to discuss the ramifications of her budget with Martin Lewis on Thursday evening, as had being expected. She was, apparently, 'busy.' In view of Mr. Lewis's analysis of it, however, perhaps it was just as well, as she may not have escaped alive from the room.
5
@Patrick-y4d1z The investment plan involved a £1bn investment in its London Gateway container port. Totally different from the crewing of P & O ships. The level of economic illiteracy and ignorance some of the people commenting on here is phenomenal.
5
Fine. What about those who do not wish for that route, but have it imposed upon them, as will, inevitably, happen?
5
Of course not. They were, after all, only little people. But she clearly thought it soooo unfair when someone of her importance was challenged. Hence the large box of tissues.
4
More accurately, his inactions?
4
True. Just goes to show that 'The Marching Morons,' a science fiction short story from the 1950s, is coming true.
4
'he doesn't have British interests at heart,' If so, he and Mark Rowley have much in common.
4
@1Fracino Why bother checking facts when it is easier to invent them to bolster your prejudices? It seems to be the norm where these people are concerned.
4
I wonder if the 'History not being ignored' will include the West Africa Squadron, 1808 - 1867, or the Slavery Abolition Act, of 1833 ? I suspect I already know the answer to that.
4
@alanmexico01 As it is an Inquiry rather than a trial, it seems that there are fairly tight time constraints. Given the quality (or lack thereof) of many witnesses, allowing them to dig deep holes for themselves without much aid seems to be working quite effectively.
4
Fear not. The wonderful Parole Board will be looking into her early release after five years or so.
3
Let us all celebrate!! This is probably the greatest day in the entire history of Britain, or indeed England. I must go now. I haven't taken my medication yet, and am starting to hear those voices again.
3
Nor do they have the right to impose their version of morality on all of us.
3
I assume he will claim he never received the e-mail telling him where 'Go' was?
3
@caboosealmighty3735 Well, he and his sidekick Harrogate Billy Hague certainly assisted a lot of people to die in Libya.
3
As there wasn't any explosive involved. That might be difficult to manage.
3
Looking forward to an English translation.
3
What is the betting that Wigston becomes the next Chief of Defence Staff?
